I have a very complex horse. He is highly independent with a lot more go than whoa. It took some time to figure out what worked for him but we got there.

Watching these episides made me realise how much my mare Amy is like Sundance. Amy is so independent and is the dominant herd leader. i have only had her for just over two years and she is a very intelligent horse and knows what she wants and who she likes. I have recently developed a much stronger bond by developing a better give and take relationship with her. I feel this has done wonders for the connection that we have.
A lot of this is because of your excellent guidance in helping me to understand and connect with her on a different level. I'm sure you'll agree with me when i say that developing a relationship where your horse wants to be with you if so much more important than a horse thinking it has to. Amy now comes to me in the pasture everytime she sees me and our bond gets strongereveryday.

Caroline, I love how you explained your approach in this video. Just like children, horses are individuals and you have to find what works for each horse. I thought, as a parent, you were very clear with your explanation.
I am currently working with a woman and her mustang. She, the woman, still has a way to go. She is very fearful of the horse. I find the horse extremely easy to work with, but I am confident when working with her. I am trying to educate the owner as to the horse's perception, and how the horse is looking for a confident leader. I like the analogy of "just like raising children". I may "borrow" that, if you don't mind. ;)

This helped me enormously! I fail to be clear and consistant. Working with two horses who are both heart connected. Both have fine minds and are extremely jealous of my attention. They are both dominant and can not be together. In this video, you make it clear that you are the leader and you make the rules. Now I can see , literally, where my mistake has been. In my attention! How big is yr pen? Is it possible to do join up in a 100ft square area?
how do u do the round penning approach without a roundpenn??? yeap...I can only work with my Annie in the pasture with other horses around.
I managed to get Annie in 1/2 circles...but than she walks off..but does come back after I ' make her trott...any suggestions from anybody??
+Tina Beck Hi Tina! If you don't have a round pen you can use a small paddock and tape off the corners or tape off part of a larger paddock so you have a smaller space to work in. The work that is done in a round pen, or small space, is specific and really can't be achieved without the space of a round pen. However, you can use a 12' lead line and work on some of the round pen exercises combined with my Lunging for a Purpose work to help develop the connection, join up, calm and disciplined mindset needed for trust and partnership to flourish.
In regards to Annie leaving you during the work, you are moving to fast. You will need my Spirituality of Horsemanship dual DVD riderhorsemanship.com/index.php/product/discovering-the-spirituality-of-horsemanship/ to help guide you during this work and process as it's very layered.
