Fun fact (sort of): Thomas Kincaid trademarked the phrase "painter of light" - so that anyone who dared to describe themselves as a "painter of light" faced the threat of legal action. True - William Turner, as you mentioned, was the first person to describe himself as a 'painter of light', 'though probably possessing more of a Christmas spirit than Mr Kincaid did, never went on to "scrooge" the description.

@@marekl Oh, I wish - usually 2 or 3 days a week, but I film 5 or 6 little chunks at a time so I always have a backlog of videos, haha. I've just bought that Martin Simons book that you mentioned on t'other channel! 😊

Merry Christmas Marek. Problem with this painting wasn’t time... it just lacked a Christmasy BR to tip it into the acceptable range. Think of your audience Marek. Everyone loves a BR. And we are all here clamouring for it. Also I think you have found your musical genre... it was so good I thought surely that is a long lost Bee Gees song. Exceptional disco! Was NOT expecting a shout out to Fire and Ice in this video, a film with which I was mildly obsessed as a child, mainly due to the rotoscoped animation and sword/axe fights. Like you I watched it again recently (it’s on Amazon Prime) and felt a bit dirty. I mean, there’s “skimpy” and there’s whatever the almost total absence of clothing is in Fire and Ice. Great video Mr L, as always

I use brushes to do the fine detail which is why it is so rubbish. You can better fine detail brushes. I have asked for some for Christmas too. Ha.
