Halo 5: Guardians - Swords of Sanghelios Dialogue

  • This video compiles lines of dialogue from the missions Alliance and Before The Storm in Halo 5: Guardians. In it, you’ll hear mention of things from Halo’s extended universe like Sali ‘Nyon, gain some insight on Sangheili culture, as well as hear some funny lines said by the messenger grunts.
This video is a sort of 'definitive' edition of one of the very first videos I ever made. In this update, I included many of the lines that I had missed out on in the original video, namely some lines from the medics. Hopefully you guys enjoy this video as I had to go back and rerecord all of the footage to make this video.

The part about who to heal first was interesting as well. The humane way to heal would be to treat the most life threatening wounds first, but the Sanghelion way to heal is to heal the higher ranks first, in order to get them back on the battle field and stop more of their brothers from dying.

So what we learned today is:
    Grunts are awful at singing.
    Grunt infusions are almost gone.
    Ration supplies will be late...again.
Science human complains a lot, needs a fusion thing, and is missing an arm (possibly stolen).
Elites are Drama Queens but have an interesting sense of humor.
The Arbiter still has the most badass dialogue ever.

A sangheili with a crush on a human merely out of warrior's respect and admiration.
Anarchist and enlightenment sentiments among a few members of a very hierarchichal, very traditional species.
The clash between the thesis of sangheili honour codes and the antithesis of war pragmatism, expressed through the very difficult position of a sangheili medic and the reactions of sangheili warriors to first aid and surgery.
Sangheili soldiers expressing dissonance between their old religious beliefs and their current political reality.
    Grunts being adorable and funny.
Say what you will about 343's artstyle and game design, but they are certainly nailing the writing and especially the world/lore building. This is fascinating stuff that Bungie never explored in their games, only novels and the like.

@@germangomez7347 I think it's an example of how human culture is affecting these Sangheili. They had been exploited by the San'shyuum for their battle prowess for so long they had lost many aspects of their culture not related to fighting. We can see that throughout these interactions, whether it be in the medic tent, the love poem, or even the one Sangheili questioning power structures, something often forbidden in even human militaries. Their alliance has changed them, and I would think for the better. Their freedom has allowed them the use of the intelligence that makes them sentient for their own ends, instead of merely killing and being killed for others. This culture is experimenting with their newfound freedom, exploring new ideas and new identities in ways previously closed to them, and I think that's an amazing aspect of the writing here

Triage states that the second Elite is right. Lives will be needlessly lost if you are treating purely by rank. A reasonable person who ignores rank would focus on the grunt who has a punctured lung rather than the commander with a broken leg. The elite can live with a broken leg for a while. The grunt may suffocate before he gets treatment if the elite got his turn first.
That being said... a commander who has no concept of Triage or respect for lower ranks or medical staff may be a huge threat outright simply by grace of his willingness to break medical staff necks over Triage. Sooooo it evens out. And it may be a tad hard to find someone willing and able to explain why breaking a doctor's neck is a VERY BAD idea.

    1. It would be an Open-World where you can travel to different planets, command armies/fleets and battle enemies such as the Flood and The Banished.
    2. Like 2018 God of War, you can upgrade and customize with new armor sets and weapons throughout your journey.
    3. You can play the Campaign in either Single or Co-Op like in the previous Halo Games.
