Um, maybe cause she was there to do a job, compete, poker face, concentrate. She wasnt there to make you feel good! All the teammates said Shannon was very talkative, etc, but competing she was in gymnast mode!
She wasn't homely, just young and hadn't grown into herself. Please keep in mind that due to their lifestyles, gymnasts deprive themselves and affect their natural hormonal levels.
@@Wordalways Yeah I was a gymnast, I know. Referring to her being homely has more to do with her horrible hairstyle in the early 90s, not her natural attributes.
@@latashapayne6333 It wasn't about her natural hair at all, just the style (pigtail braids where you put the hair in two ponytails BEFORE you braid it is a CHOICE lmao), and also about how starved she was by the Karolyis, her and most other early 90s gymnasts all looked sick back then during the pixie era

It was most likely the media coverage. They did a lot of things to create false drama. Now there's more transparency.
Well, she's grown up and there weren't really opportunities to be talkative on the gymnastics stage.

Didn't know if I was biased against her, but yeah, she seemed pretty ahem, confident in herself, but maybe that's what high achievers do.
