I got a real kick out of listening to this. I was 18 when this came out and I don't remember it cuz I probably had a few too many drinks or I just haven't heard it at all. But thank you for putting this up I really enjoyed listening to it and I still miss John so much.
Exactly. But let’s call a spade a spade. Let us say murdered. John was not killed or assassinated. He was murdered. So who’s the killer? Who hired Mark Chapman? or who was the intended target? 🤑
'There's very little Beatle material that wasn't put out......' Hmmmm, I wonder what John would think of all the outakes etc released since the 95' anthology right up to the impending Revolver remix.
All of the Beatles underestimated the lasting importance of their work and its permanent impact on human culture. The rough sketches of songs on anthology, though seemingly of little value to the Beatles, are as important as the rough drafts of poetry by Yeats, Eliot, or Shakespeare for that matter. McCartney is the only one who understood this, maybe too well.
Fabulous! I loved every second of this one. I don’t remember ever hearing it. Lovely insight to his creative process and cool tips on mixes. Funny. Wonderful. Really lifted me today. John was always cool, practical and interesting. I still love him.
I'd have to agree, for the most part. It's a solid album and one I still listen too, regularly. I do, however think that he had some decent songs on Double Fantasy. Yoko's offerings, notwithstanding. It sucks that we didn't get any further music from John, clearly. I really love Nobody Told Me, off of Milk and Honey. Even though it wasn't fully produced yet, it showed that he still had it, he still could rock.
@wayne I agree with your basic assessments of DF and MAH: I too love what he did on those last lp’s, whether via the ballads OR the rockers with an ‘80’s edge and feel; that said, for me, WAB gets the edge of my preference for its timeless gravity and beautifully-melancholic emotional tone…
Yea, John's like dog shit,..it keeps happening,.. I do like the third picture in,.. That's basically,.. the way I personally would like to remember him. Not essentially grim,.. but caring in a serious way.
It's always so nice to hear John's voice.
John was my favorite Beatle. I liked Lennon compositions the most.
Likewise.
Compare the difference when Yuko was around and when she wasn't. A whole different person.
Thank you for sharing this priceless treasure!
IMHO, John had the perfect voice for rock and roll
Glad you enjoyed it
Another treasure of an upload and on John’s birthday thanks

Great to hear this in complete form. This was edited down for the KHJ Special of the Month (Los Angles).
Enjoyable interview. I really love John's version of Ben E. King's great song, " Stand By Me". Thank you. A true moment in time.
Thanks for the interview will always love John and he's still with us his spirit is watching us I believe in him.
Excellent. Thank you very much for this upload.
Happy birthday, John Lennon.

I know he hated the original recordings and production. Would love all the remastered stuff
I think he would have found it reassuring. George on the other hand......
I think he’s more saying theres few finished songs that weren’t released

Great comment.
The Lost Weekend period.
WALLS AND BRIDGES was/is Dr. Winston’s last solid album…

Here John's voice is deep. Sometimes it's really high like he's on helium 😂
I feel that there’s no hurry, I’m just sitting here doing time…
mould but goildits turned out to be the Rock n Roll Album
The best Beatle. Most interesting for sure.
Dolly 😘
& he did care,.. too much maybe sometimes.
Some of the songs that he picked to cover for the Rock and Roll album are stinkers.

@19:05 or so May Pang chimes in🥰
He should've stayed with that little hottie
@@Two_Seat_Pete_FatA55Mother Yoko fixed John up with the young virgin. Mother unfixed it 😅.
