Wonderful! Better set some new ones then! well done! :)
Actually this video is amazing
An thanks so much!
Another awesome video, with so much value!! Can you please consider this idea: make a video about your weekly schedule and block out the time system, I really need this to getting things done on my day and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one.
Thank you, your videos are helping me organize my life towards my goals!
Nice one, great to hear. Read my mind Leonardo... time blocking and Weekly schedule coming soon! ...once Iâve finished messing with my new layout for this. :)
Beautiful. Subscribed.
Thank you! What a lovely comment to read! Keeps things rolling.
Love this, still learning notion which is act so difficult đ
start simple pal! :)
Oh no, you're getting married. My biggest goal for 2021 has just gone down the toilet lol. Thank you for breaking down the process though, it makes goal setting a little less intimidating.
Haha! Blushes* you are welcome!
Hi I just purchased you main notion templates and was wondering is there an update of this video and the action into system area seems to be different now. many thanks
Thanks for downloading. Yes indeed - as I say in the video this is an update so you would need to add this yourself (itâs currently free to download with the code and there are instructions to swap the new goal setting stuff out. Either way - I will be doing some major other updates to it and so offering a view version to existing users with a big discount code so you donât pay for the stuff you already have. Hope that helps! :)
Great video! I keep coming upon the same 'problem' when dealing with frequency. If I have 6 goals I'm currently working on, assuming none have deadlines, is it more productive to work uninterrupted on only 1 goal per day (for 6 hours for example), or to work 1hr on all 6 goals every day? I get more done in long spurts but find I easily disconnect with the other goals if only working on them 1 day per week. Just curious if you've had this same dilemma and what works for you.
In general, I find itâs useful to batch time on specific tasks to be more effective on them. However: I think itâs good to look at what the task is and consider what is the best way to approach that specific tasks / practice. Some will be better to chip away at, others to do over a specific day - test it out maybe for each and see what seems best. Then you can set your frequency for practices based on what works. I think itâs most important to start small - and build up: trying to suddenly do massive change rarely works! Cold fish! Good luck :)
@@BetterCreating Thank you for the response!
Yesssss!! đđ Iâve literally been looking for a Notion template & process like this for MONTHS and this is nearly perfect to what I had in mind. Iâm sure youâre getting tons of comments, but if I wanted to tweak it just a little bit and add the different âlife categoriesâ and have hmmm like 3-5 goals per category, how do you think the best way to go about that would be? You donât have to go in full out detail just a couple of sentence would be super helpful!! Unfortunately due to COVID & being 8 months pregnant I was laid off from my my dream jobđ¨ so I wonât be able to afford the template right now, but I will find a way to get that money one way or another. Youâre awesome I love your content. Thanks again!

Sure, see what you make of it!
Great planning and review system. I see on your downloads page there is a link to grab this template but when I try to access it, it tells me it's unavailable. I'm wondering if I can purchase it outside of the bundles? This would integrate well with my current set up, but I don't need all of the other templates. (Already grabbed your Stoic Journal, which I'm loving!)
Hi Renee, Iâll take a look at that free template issue this week and you should be able to access it soon. strange you canât at moment! You canât purchase it outside the bundles at the moment but i may make one available with the year planner and practices system only at some point. Thanks for your support and great you are enjoying the Journal!
@@BetterCreating Thank you Simon - when I try to access the free template it tells me: "You do not have access to Simon. Please contact an admin to add you as a member." - Kinda bummed I don't have access to Simon OR the template, LOL...
Hi Renee: Think the Year Planner template is now fixed: you should be able to access it now! Thanks,
Simon
@@BetterCreating Thank you, that worked. Great timing since I'm doing a review today and can now incorporate this into my planning.
Hi Simon, I bought your template and am working through the goal setting. If you add a frequency, I imagine you might need to change some of the formulas. Can you tell me what this would impact and how to resolve it? For example, if I wanted to do biweekly or 3x a week I can just add those as a new picklist item - but will it still work with the Status, next due, and progress? Thanks!
Hi Anastasia, yes if you add a frequency you would have to update the formulas. You could do every two days or every three days or bi weekly I think. You would need to 1. add a frequency tag, 2. add that to the frequency as number formula, 3. created a new âevery three daysâ status formula column for it, and then update the final Status column if statement to include it. Since it counts in either days or weeks: twice a week is hard as itâs not full days. Bi weekly weekly would work as a formula for every 14-days. Three times a week is hard as it doesnât divide evenly by days but if want to do three times a week you could have three weekly dated cards in the current set up.
Itâs complex to add it I know; but the benefit of the complexity is a simpler interface and better reporting when using it! If I have time soon, I will try to add these options. I suggest duplicating the practices page and messing around with a copy so you donât mess up your current system by the way! Good way to learn about if statements!! đđ
@@BetterCreatingThanks so much. I'm starting to wonder if I wouldn't be better served by doing a daily entry so I can see how I do month over month. So if you were looking at the table the habits would be across the top instead of down. As this tracker works more in total counts vs. actual dates - I can't see how I could have that view unless I wrote each logged habit to a separate database and did reporting off of that. I've noticed when I did keep a bullet journal that there would be trends when I was missing habits - time of year - events, etc. As for the three times a week - I'm still looking at options and googling how others are doing it. Most of my habits occur weekly in different frequencies.
@@BetterCreating I am also having this issue, but when I try and add the Bi-weekly formula to the frequency as a number formula I get either a "syntax" error or an "unexpected char" error and it wont let me save the formula. Ive already added the Bi-Weekly to the frequency tag im just a lil stuck on the 2nd part.
Implement & Follow Through? Hey Simon! I have your Life OS templates and I am new to Notion and I am going through this and trying to implement step by step. When I get to "Implement & Follow Through" at 9:33 I see nothing in the template that matches that stage. Is this part of the "My Practices" page or something else? I lack understanding on how all of this ties together and how things put in one page show up un other pages so I am at a loss on this step. please advise & thanks
If you bought the complete life OS recently it will be that the template for goals was updated. It basically means - adding goals, milestones and practices into the template so you can track them. Check the instructions in the guide at the top of the home screen. That should help you! :) new guide videos coming soon over the next few months breaking down by system further too :) good luck!
In the last Step you're implementing the goals in the weekly planner when you put as example 15min Hiit do you link it to the task list or to the goal list?
I put it in practices and link it to the goal it serves. đđ
@@BetterCreating oh amazing i'm going to do the same thing
I am having trouble locating the implement and follow through of the goals.
All I see in the goal setting area is visualize and action into system. I can't find where implement and follow through is.
Hi Carlos, âaction into the systemâ is where you implement them. As in; you set out tasks / projects / practices here to link them to goals and then use the main dashboard to track these practices tasks and projects as you work.
There is also a weekly abs monthly review template in the journal database I created that is great for tracking progress on your goals. Good luck!
I am realising that I have a hard time remembering what I have done/accomplished throughout the year. I don't even remember who I spent New Year's Eve with. Do you do some kind of journaling so you can remember all these things with such accuracy?
Ha, yeah I know how you feel. To be honest it feels like I wonât remember, but I just work back through my diary a month at a time, and the more you remember, the more that comes back. Itâs great actually - realised I had a lot to be grateful for, but also moments of âoh wow that was 2020!? Thanks for watching - good luck with yours if you do one.
@@BetterCreating I'm doing it along with you. Video on pause for 20 minutes now :)
Fantastic - so pleased someone is using the video live! đ
I have a daily review embedded in my habit tracker where I enter one major win and one major loss for the day. That rolls up into a weekly review where I rate them 1-7 wins and 1-7 losses. Then the weekly reviews roll up into my monthly reviews but I only see the top three of each for the weeks I again score them again. Quarterly review shows the top three of each. Then the annual review presents me with the top 12 wins and the top 12 losses for the year. I can easily click on the table and review all of them if I want to, but only the top 12 of each are presented for the annual review. As long as I track them daily, I don't have to try and remember them annually.
@@TheArtisticBiker wow, that's clever. I am building a habit tracker at the moment and will definitely steal your idea :)
Can I ask a question about pursuing creative matters as these are not necessarily goal oriented. Or maybe I do not want them to be. An example: I want to make better teaching videos and therefore I have to learn specific stuff about this. But I also have to develop my voice around these videos, and the 'develop your voice'-thing is difficult. It requires lots of tries, tests, to find inspiration, flip everything upside down etc. It is definitely a goal but a goal which requires a process.
A comment on this?
Thanks for sharing such an interesting question! Yeah, I know what you mean. I think we often too easily think of goals in terms of results: create this product, make this amount of money, be able to run a mile in x. But I think it is always important to set goals that focus on action you can commit to, and things that are within your control. Perhaps the same goes here: setting goals to prioritise and allocate time to block out for creative exploration, developing ideas etc. For example seting a goal to spend 10% of the week blocked out to do this and open up possibilities and new skills. I think itâs about being accountable: if I donât make the time for creative exploration, it doesnât happen enough. What do you think? :)
@@BetterCreating Yeah - setting a goal about spending time is absolutely a possibility. I guess that is where I have to start. When things begin to 'get into shape' is is easier also to set goals (that might be changed later).
However, for me creativity doesn't always work like that. Sometimes I get drawn into an idea where things that was difficult to anticipate at the beginning show up. And these new things might be mote fun to explore that what's next at your list!
But - I get your point!
