    In today’s strange new world, I think getting things done is not just about getting things done! It’s about keeping those bucket list ideas, and future plans alive, and helping us stay clear and calm when not doing something. I love my weekly review for that. What are you doing to keep perspective on the big picture at the moment? Let me know below and don’t forget to subscribe to stay connected. :)

    Cool beans! With the addition of a "Review" table and some rollups, you can automate the review prompt too. I sent an email and a link to a my example in Notion

    Wonderful and clear descriptions of how to configure NOTION. I do not have a back ground with GTD so the overview of the philosophy of time management is missing from my understand. However, the quick comments and points you add in on application of GTD to guide your thinking probably does more to explain the meta idea behind GTD than a full day course. Keep up the great teaching!!

    your videos are amazing and super helpful, thank you so much!
    i was just wondering if you could help me. I would like to filter the task that appear in "related to task list" so only the ones that are not completed pop up. when you have lots of tasks, it can be a bit overwhelming and I find that it would look so much cleaner.
    might be useful also for other people!

    • @BetterCreating
      @BetterCreating  Před 2 lety

      If you are talking about the list of columns at the top of pages like projects - I suggest you hide all the related to columns here so you don’t have to look at them. I would find it the same! You can then create a filtered linked database view of the task list for the page and filter to only show when done is checked. You can’t filter of hide specifics in these system views at tops of pages but you can in any in-page database views. Hope that helps / makes sense. Thanks for watching and so great to hear you are enjoying. More of this stuff coming in 2022! :)

    Dude I just wanted to take a moment to say.. I have been carefully following this course if you may. And I find it simply amazing I am very grateful to you. THANKS. There are Notion people like Marie poppins or whatever her name its. Who its brilliant but Its charging 200 dollars to get her stuff? You on the other hand my friend is giving all this valuable content for free.. And let me tell you are way better than that Marie girl. You should consider being a web dev teacher!!! I will follow your content forever. Thanks mate!

    Loved the video. Thanks for it & felt inspired to create my own review database. Just one question, do you usually remember those review dates, or how come you don't program a reminder to each given that Notion gives you the option to do so?

    • @BetterCreating
      @BetterCreating  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi VC. Great to hear. Since it’s based on review frequency, that reminds me by popping up in the dashboard on that frequency. No need to remember dates. So, if I set it for 7 days on Monday, it will remind me the next Monday. The input bit is to click today’s date in last review once you have reviewed it... make sense? Thanks for watching!

    • @BetterCreating
      @BetterCreating  Před 3 lety +1

      Also: by having to input the day you review it it holds you to account and helps build the habit! 😊

    Great set of videos. I am a GTD practicioner, and created my own system in Evernote. Recently, with all the tools Notion gives I've made the transition. I have a question about your project template. Underneath "Untitled" you have a list of things like 'Last Review' etc...
    How did you create that? I can't find any workaround?
    Keep up the good work.

    • @BetterCreating
      @BetterCreating  Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks Lee, glad you are enjoying the vids. Those fields appear as a mirror of whatever columns sit within the database you have created the template in. Have you tried creating the template within your projects database table? That way each template will display an overview of the columns associated to it... hope that helps. Let me know if not. :)
      Don’t forget to sub and share if you can: great to have the support!

    • @leenicholson2756
      @leenicholson2756 Před 3 lety

      @@BetterCreating So, in your video you create the file and different review columns. However, in the example you presented, you had all the other columns which are also in your task database (context, done, due etc). They are created but not necessarily in view on the page. Think I've got it.
      Do you have to create the overview/description section, current tasks, notes and research separately or can they also be part of the template?
      Sorry, for the amount of questions?

    • @BetterCreating
      @BetterCreating  Před 3 lety

      Hi Lee, you need to be creating the template within the project table, not the task table - it might be that you are creating the template in the wrong place. Have you also looked at my previous videos on creating the project and task database (this might help you) and my bibliography inspiration? Those fields come from that part of that wider system. My project templates are created in the projects section, and they have those fields due to the fact that database has those columns within it. Basically, that top view will show whatever columns appear in the related table. Hope this helps, it’s difficult to know exactly how to help without seeing what you are doing... good luck :)

      @@BetterCreating Hi Simon, I've got there. I went back and watched the videos again and now it's all good. Love the information you're putting out.
      I tried a few years ago to set up a productivity channel all about GTD, Evernote and Inbox Zero. Couldn't get any traction. Hope this continues to grow for you.

  • @shinlizy
    @shinlizy Před 3 lety

    So after you marked that you reviewed the given project it will come back after the given amount of dates, right? But in what form it will show? I mean it will be as clear project or you have to update it somehow?

    • @BetterCreating
      @BetterCreating  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Lizy; yes, if you have set up your dashboard like mine (the Needs Review section at the bottom of my homepage), when you update Last Review with today's date for that project, it should disappear from the dashboard, and then appear there again after the number of days you have set for that project in the review frequency column. So if it has a frequency of '7' and you last reviewed it on a Monday, it will reappear to be checked on the next Monday. Hope that helps!
      Thanks for watching.
