Sounds so much better than your “average” twin turbo LS with fender exit exhaust
The only difference is the location, it’s literally exactly the same thing. Lol. Sounds a little different because there’s two exits side by side so they’re ricocheting off each other.

Get every measurement correct, OCD perfect for that matter.
I'd say that the front end reminds me of a Ford GT50, as well as the rear end (which I imagine the Factory Five engineers were partially attempting to replicate while adding their own flares to). However, the LS 372 with the twin turbos and the Lamborghini manual transaxle makes it an absolute rocket and I'm sure it's extremely fun to drive. I realize that this won't be anywhere near as cool, but I am currently in the process of turbocharging my 2004 Acura TL that I already did a six speed manual swap (out of a 2003 Acura CL Type-S) on, and I'll be using an AEM Series II 30-6051 standalone and a Garrett GTS3582 dual ball bearing turbo with a billet compressor wheel. The J32A3 makes 11.0:1 compression, so I have to run low boost or swap to E85, but even at 8 psi it should make close to 400 whp and that'll be more than enough fun. I built my old 2001 Accord with a J32A JDM 3.2L V6 with the same turbo and on 93 octane it made 502 whp on 10 lbs of boost.

A Saleen S7 actually looks better, and has racing credentials to boot. This one may be cheaper though, since it is a kit car.

Everyone sleeps on factory five because they make “kit cars” but as soon as I saw their chassis I knew they were legit well built race cars. I built one of their 427 cobra kits and drive the shit out of it.

800h seems really modest for the quality of the powertrain
Just easing into the process. I encountered a lot of issues with this build, especially the transaxle. I started with 6psi around 600hp. When I bumped another 6psi, I picked up almost 200hp. At the half mile, I definitely got faster, but encountered the handling issues. I've addressed those and now will be dialing it up again soon. The car is also undergoing a full rewiring, switching to InfinityBox. While doing that, I'm adding the ethanol sensor, wiring the ECM for that and likely going to 20psi once all of that is done.

I never heard him say what boost pressure he's running but given the 91 octane he says he uses, I have to think it's not much at all- ton's more power possible. But drivability is a thing vs a dyno queen that makes that 4 digit power which this could easily do. I love that the guy set things up for drivability so he could enjoy it on the street. Its a very well thought out & beautiful machine.
It is running 12psi in the current config. When I had it tuned, I was told that I need to do an E85 conversion to safely pull more power out of it. However, shortly after doing the 12psi tune, I took i down the half mile, and I'm pretty happy with where it's at. I would like to pull 4 digits out of it, but I think it would be just as you said, a dyno queen. I appreciate the kind words.
@@NischGTM I have gotten into the situation where I was so focused on a dyno number, that not only can no one really see but that often hurts real performance because of traction. In my opinion, I think you should tune this beauty how you like it, so it is responsive & feels good while driving it & call it a day. Having a REALLY rare & labor of love like this that you never worry about when you turn the key is priceless. I have lost many races because I was spinning tires vs laying down good, usable power- so I say enjoy what you've got & put a bunch of miles on this thing with a smile on your face!

@@NischGTM This car definitely needs E85 and a flex fuel tune. Keep it on 91 and 12 psi on the street, but make over 1k whp on E85 for the track. With a sticky tire. Then you'll find the weak link in the drivetrain, but hey, that's the car hobby... Beautiful car.
@@gregmatson1470 Yeah, NicD said it was barely just starting to open up at 12psi and has lots of room. One day I'll go over to E85, but it's been fine on 91 being so light. My biggest hurdle now isn't power, but rather handling up at the higher 170+ speeds.

I actually went down of that route as a possibility, however the dimensions prohibit the install. Maybe with one of those pricey dry sump 2wd conversion kits, it might fit. I still haven't ruled out that possibility.

Factory five is a small kit car company based out of wareham Massachusetts. They make many kits including the ac cobra and their own super car the gtm
I have a factory five and have been trying to build for the last 15 months. I have bought and paid for the transaxle and all the parts to go with from Mendeola in November of 2020 and still have not gotten anything but a email that say “ we should have it by next month stay patient” as of 14months of waiting isn’t!!

Exactly right. I just left a comment on your other video with the single turbo C5 about how LS’s just don’t sound great turbod. At least not with a hood or fender exit. My Uncle has a real Callaway TT C4 and I still think that sounds better than the LS TT.
I want a factory five kit so bad! Literally any of them are killers!
