One of the best bits of lore was Corvus and Guilliman having a drink on the Macragges Honour when Guilliman asks Corvus what he thought of Fulgrims 'Pride Of The Emperor', since he'd been recently on it. Corvus gave a disgusted look and said "Overwhelming. It was like being punched in the face with a perfumed fist!" which gave G-man a good laugh. ;)
My fav bit of Corvus and Gman lore is how Corvus outsmarted Guilliman on more than one occasion in terms of accomplishing a mission. Guilliman had to keep making countermeasures to stop Corvus

Cool Custodes fact about the Phalanx: The Adeptus Custodes not only repaired and upgraded the massive space station for the Imperial Fists, they activated sections that nobody had been able to figure out since the Dark Age of Technology. They also have an undisclosed number of spies and agents working for them on the Phalanx at all times.
The Dark Angels had 3 Gloriana-class battleships and they wreaked havoc on the traitors with them, one was damaged beyond repair then subsequently rammed into the xenos moon-base during the Xenocide. Dark Angel teams then made moon-fall overloaded the reactors and "fused" the ship with the moon, decimating both in the process. The third's fate is unknown, potentially it comes out of retirement with the return of the Lion

Damaged beyond repair means it was damaged to such an extent that they literally could not fix it. In which case, using it as a makeshift meteorite and overloading the reactor is simply removing a massive threat with a broken tank.

So we actually have a pretty good idea of what happened to the missing Primarchs' Gloriana Class ships. The Luna Wolves and Word Bearers both suspiciously had two Gloriana Class ships before the Heresy even started. So yeah, looks like the ships were probably given to them just like how the Ultramarines and the Imperial Fists took in the surviving members of the lost legions.
@@johnfraire6931 I think they actually made 3 bigger ships in secret in addition to the 2 Gloriana Class ships they already had. They lost both of them though, with their main Gloriana being destroyed and the other being the one stolen by the Ultramarines. This was the one the Nemesis chapter has now, so they probably have one of the missing Primarchs' flagship. The Black Legion has the other missing Primach's ship then.

Two were destroyed during the Calth campaign I think but one is said to be still active. They are described as being larger than a Gloriana but the Macragges Honour was able to go toe to toe with one and arguably win even though not being considered the most combat oriented of the Glorianas

I'm just imagining the Blood Angels getting spit out by the warp at Ultramar and the Ultramarines just towing them to a space port to fix their ship. I imagine there could have been some pretty funny Blood Angel and Ultramarine banter there
also the PC game has some pretty fun moments. I hated the first one because shit was hard AF, but the second one I love. They even have the Vengeful Spirit, the Maccragge's Honor and the Phalanx, not to mention 2 blackstone fortresses and every races' ships.

Space Wolves Flagship: Hrafnkel. Pretty sure it survived, and even made an appearance in "The Emperors Gift" by ADB. Right when the Inquisition was about to blast a bunch of Space Wolves and civilian ships, Hrafnkel appeared from the warp right between them. Shut down the Inquisition pretty hard. So unless I read incorrectly, it's alive.
I really hope we get some more lore regarding the Glorianas and Warhammer spaceships as a whole. They are simultaneously one of the least developed and coolest aspects of the franchise and deserve a lot more love than they get. As someone who really loves the Glorianas it’s really cool to see the return of some of the vessels, namely the Macragges Honour, Vengeful Spirit and Conqueror in recent lore but they still haven’t received that much development. Even though Warhammer 40k is at its core a franchise based around selling plastic models of ground combatants, it would still be cool if the space combat side of Warhammer got some more love and attention, and it’s really cool that you made this vid!

The Dark Angels Legion have been confirmed to have at least 5 of them (Three of them named, Invincible Reason, Paradigm of Hate and Truth's Razor) , but it has also been stated that many of the Dark Angels fleets had a Gloriana.
Had* One of them got fused to a moon. R.I.P Paradigm of Hate, she shall be dearly missed amongst the unforgiven as well as the brave souls that fought to the last moment to assure the overloading of the reactors.
Getting a video about how each of the pre heresy primarchs would have ruled the imperium being the first to return ( like Guilliman ) would be pretty cool. Seeing how each would rule over their new empire and how they would react to the ecclesiarchy and such would make for some great head canon
I think Dorn would try his best. Well, everyone else would cry. The situation post great rift was kinda made for Guilliman. Dorn is the only one who even comes close as far as an Empire builder. Maybe Horus if he was loyal.
This is the kind of question I personally really like! I want there to be MORE lore on 40k starships! I feel like we've only gotten scraps of lore when it comes to ships for many years now. Usually talking about how big this fleet is or where this ship is about to go. I want to know details! The armaments, crew size, specialties, captains and admirals, new ship classes, actual intended size of various ships, and much more!
The Phalanx is unironically one of my favourite ships in all of sci-fi. It suits The Imperial Fists really well due to being a massive mobile fortress with defences,within defences and being one of the few ships the Traitor's activley avoided during The Heresy

Personally I would love to see her fight the last remaining Abyss class battleship in a duel of the largest remaining Imperial warships. Maybe they’d even introduce a rebuilt Imperator Somnium, the Emperor’s flagship?

I love these longer videos. Seeing how the primarchs tuned their space caddies and hotrods tells a lot about each of them. Perturabo is basically death proofed bus while the imperial fists drive a fucking armored motorhome...
Would love to see a Night Lord resurgence with The Nightfall helmed by Decimus and a mostly reunified legion, or better yet, best boy Sevy popping up. So much great Night Lord lore that is up in the air just waiting to come all together for a Night Lord revamp (i.e. Games Workshop revamping some Night Lord models for $$$).

Slight correction for the Wordbearers. The Fidelitas Lex was the Gloriana class Flagship of the word bearers although Lorgar had 3 larger ships built namely the Furious Abyss, The Blessed Lady and the Trisagion which replaced the Lex as Lorgars personal flagship.
I love how even as a heretical warband, the Red Corsairs are still occasionally pretty honorable. The tragic tale of good intentions gone awry, and the Administratum screwing over a loyal chapter to the point that they go full bad guy in response.....but occasionally still show a spark of that nobility and give the ship back instead of just blowing it up out of spite.
Its a bit sad but also awesome how often Majorkill and Weshammer are talking about lore no one else even considered to talk about. Its especially strange how often this is basic lore like "fate of everys legion of that special item/person everyone had." I mean strange that it hasn´t been covered yet but yay for getting covered 😅

The actual Word Bearers flagship was the Fidelitas Lex. I think the Chronicle of Ashes was just another Gloriana-Class vessel. The Furious Abyss was much larger than the Fidelitas Lex (rivalling the Phalanx in size) and was itself one of three Abyss Class vessels, the other two being the Blessed Lady and Trisagion which I believe are still about as far as we know.

In the Huron book, he uses it to screw over rival chaos marines that were trying to take power. Since the macragges honour was pretty useless to him he gets his rivals on the ship and then leaves the ship and his rivals to the ultramarines
With this video, you should do a subsequent video about the Imperator Somnium, the Emperor's personal flagship. The actual name of the ship also translates roughly to "The Emperor's Dream" or "The Dream of the Emperor".
@Majorkill Neat. Several of my ship designs from my mod for Battlefleet Gothic Armada 2 (Skalgrim Mod) are shown here in your vid. With the soon completed 2.2 version, most of the known Glorianas are added as buildable ships in both skirmish and the campaign. Oh, and the Dark Mechanicum is being added as a new faction to the game.
So, I am a big fan of 40k, and have been for about 20 years, but despite all the cool stuff they do, and really liking Guard, Grey Knights, and Eldar, one of my absolute favorite things is Rogue Traders, and that means I really like ships, and their space stuff, along with the 40k game. I can't tell you how much I really hoped Battlefleet Gothic was going to make a return, when Vashtorr and his Arks of Omen plot was introduced. It's too bad that wasn't the plan,especially since Vashtorr is building super-battleships, and it will take more than a 2,000 pt army of something to stop those. Oh well.

Lorgar’s gloriana ship was destoryed at Nuceria, and the Abyss class ship survived and still serves as his Flagship on his Dark Pilgriamge in Imperium Nihilus according to chaos codex
So we got a universe where super human power armored space marine of the future prefer melee combat, driving ships with advance technology, but still use brod side cannons and is shaped like a church with a plow....gotta love this universe.
It's a good thing these ships aren't that active otherwise they'd suffer from having no armor like any armored unit in 40k and be destroyed by macro cannon broadside

Yo love to see this kind of navy video. It feels like ships arent really discussed that much, and even though ive been into warhammer for years I still feel like I know next to nothing about the ships and cruisers of the galaxy.
The actual reason for removing of all the windows on the Iron Legion flagship is simple: Windows on board of a space ship are structural weaknesses even the best armoured glass is still weaker than armoured hullplating of half its thickness. It fits the lore of the Legion to get rid of that weakness to their ship.
I like how Major used pics of the Iron Blood, Endurance, and Abyss class battleship (3:48, 10:48, and 12:47, respectively) as they are depicted in Skalgrim Mod for Battleflet Gothic Armada 2. For those wondering yes, Skalgrim Mod has pretty much every known Gloriana in its roster (except for the MacCrage's Honour, and Vengeful Spirit because they're already in the game). Skalgrim and his team tries to make them as accurate to the lore as possible, which does mean kitbashing parts, weapons, and abilities from other factions or other ships. Edit: Beta testing for version 2.2 of the mod is currently underway. Replacing the pathetic and worthless Lost and Damned subfaction, with the Dark Mechanicus. Edit 2: I forgot to mention the mod adds in an extra Phalanx. One bigger and mightier than the base game version. Because vanilla Phalanx isn't big or mighty enough.
I love how he publishes 2.1 the "final version", then works on getting the dark mechanicum as another subfaction (or at least a replacement of the lost and damned)
@@umutsen5606 don't worry, it and the Shadow of the Emperor are coming. Or already were there in version 2.1 prior. Can't remember exactly. Skalgrim originally didn't add them because he was abiding by the original lore, which states that both ships were destroyed during the Heresy. He does have the Chronicle of Ashes as the Lex Talonis. Major didn't say that the Chronicle was rechristened as Lex Talonis after it was given to the Nemesis chapter. So creating the Chronicle essentially duplicates it because it technically exists already, albeit under a different faction and name. If you wanna know what the ship could've looked like as a Chaos WB ship, just pretend the Monarchia Redeemer or the Balestar as a pre Nemesis Chronicle. As for the Furious Abyss, its already in the game, with the picture at 12:48 being used in Major's video. But Skalgrim named it "Abyss class" instead of their in-universe individual names because all three of the "mega battleships" built by the WB during the Heresy were all of the same class. Furious Abyss, Trisagion, and the other one (forgot the name) are all Abyss class battleships. So they're essentially sister ships and given that the lore isn't very clear of any differences between the three, Skalgrim just added 1 to blanket all 3.

But yeah the 2.2 is adding the Dark Mechanicum as a playable faction by replacing the Lost and the Damned/renegade subfaction. Its a full roster. This was a great video, very intereting because I honestly tend to forget the Blood Angels even have a Gloriana-class considering how often it's mentioned. I would love to ssee some videos in this same vein too, about the other interesting ships of the Imperium/Chaos. Like the Terminus Est or the Imperator Somnium or that one class I forget the name of that's the only ship class that was only ever used by Chaos.

You see, what I love about Majorkill is that I never thought I'd give a fuck about the Flagship of Each Space Marine Legion until I saw the title of this video. Then I thought to myself "Yeah what the fuck DID happen to the flag ship of each Space Marine Legion?". So here we are.
02:42. The Second Primarch's flag ship got lost at the Bermuda triangle. 08:34. The Eleventh Primarch's flag ship had crashed at the trade center. I know these two descriptions are not true. But damn it all! I enjoy any scrap of information about the so called Lost Primarchs. They fascinate me more than the other 18 Primarchs.
You should do more videos on the warships of 40k, seems to be an area that you haven't really touched yet. (Ex: Battle Barges explained, All Imperial warships explained, Tyrranid have ships explained)
As an outsider looking in, it's amazing how much lore I learn about that seems absolutely critical to the 40k setting, only to find out it's actually ancient history from 10,000 years ago and mostly serves as backstory for the current setting. How do tabletop players deal with this? Do they specifically differentiate between a 40k era battle vs. Horus Heresy/30k era battles, or is it just whatever the heck they feel like pitting against each other for fun?
Also shout-out to the skallgrim mod developers in BFGA2, definitely one of the best mods out there. If y'all want to kill time and have hectic melee range void combat, highly recommend.

@@johnfraire6931 I think they actually made 3 bigger ships in secret in addition to the 2 Gloriana Class ships they already had. They lost both of them though, with their main Gloriana being destroyed and the other being the one stolen by the Ultramarines.
This was the one the Nemesis chapter has now, so they probably have one of the missing Primarchs' flagship. The Black Legion has the other missing Primach's ship then.
@@johnfraire6931 they built the three Abyss Class battleships with the aid of the dark mechanicum during the heresy. Two were destroyed during the Calth campaign I think but one is said to be still active. They are described as being larger than a Gloriana but the Macragges Honour was able to go toe to toe with one and arguably win even though not being considered the most combat oriented of the Glorianas

Space Wolves Flagship: Hrafnkel. Pretty sure it survived, and even made an appearance in "The Emperors Gift" by ADB. Right when the Inquisition was about to blast a bunch of Space Wolves and civilian ships, Hrafnkel appeared from the warp right between them. Shut down the Inquisition pretty hard. So unless I read incorrectly, it's alive.

I really hope we get some more lore regarding the Glorianas and Warhammer spaceships as a whole. They are simultaneously one of the least developed and coolest aspects of the franchise and deserve a lot more love than they get. As someone who really loves the Glorianas it’s really cool to see the return of some of the vessels, namely the Macragges Honour, Vengeful Spirit and Conqueror in recent lore but they still haven’t received that much development. Even though Warhammer 40k is at its core a franchise based around selling plastic models of ground combatants, it would still be cool if the space combat side of Warhammer got some more love and attention, and it’s really cool that you made this vid!

The Dark Angels Legion have been confirmed to have at least 5 of them (Three of them named, Invincible Reason, Paradigm of Hate and Truth's Razor) , but it has also been stated that many of the Dark Angels fleets had a Gloriana.

I feel like we've only gotten scraps of lore when it comes to ships for many years now. Usually talking about how big this fleet is or where this ship is about to go. I want to know details! The armaments, crew size, specialties, captains and admirals, new ship classes, actual intended size of various ships, and much more!
Lexicanum has some size measurements and crew sizes. Hopefully that helps but most stuff is “as much as each writer feels like it”
I would encourage you to look for the literature from the old Battlefleet Gothic specialist game; it went into quite a bit of this kind of detail.

The Phalanx is unironically one of my favourite ships in all of sci-fi. It suits The Imperial Fists really well due to being a massive mobile fortress with defences,within defences and being one of the few ships the Traitor's activley avoided during The Heresy

Maybe they’d even introduce a rebuilt Imperator Somnium, the Emperor’s flagship?

Would love to see a Night Lord resurgence with The Nightfall helmed by Decimus and a mostly reunified legion, or better yet, best boy Sevy popping up. So much great Night Lord lore that is up in the air just waiting to come all together for a Night Lord revamp (i.e. Games Workshop revamping some Night Lord models for $$$).

Slight correction for the Wordbearers. The Fidelitas Lex was the Gloriana class Flagship of the word bearers although Lorgar had 3 larger ships built namely the Furious Abyss, The Blessed Lady and the Trisagion which replaced the Lex as Lorgars personal flagship.
I love how even as a heretical warband, the Red Corsairs are still occasionally pretty honorable. The tragic tale of good intentions gone awry, and the Administratum screwing over a loyal chapter to the point that they go full bad guy in response.....but occasionally still show a spark of that nobility and give the ship back instead of just blowing it up out of spite.
Its a bit sad but also awesome how often Majorkill and Weshammer are talking about lore no one else even considered to talk about. Its especially strange how often this is basic lore like "fate of everys legion of that special item/person everyone had." I mean strange that it hasn´t been covered yet but yay for getting covered 😅

The actual Word Bearers flagship was the Fidelitas Lex. I think the Chronicle of Ashes was just another Gloriana-Class vessel. The Furious Abyss was much larger than the Fidelitas Lex (rivalling the Phalanx in size) and was itself one of three Abyss Class vessels, the other two being the Blessed Lady and Trisagion which I believe are still about as far as we know.

In the Huron book, he uses it to screw over rival chaos marines that were trying to take power. Since the macragges honour was pretty useless to him he gets his rivals on the ship and then leaves the ship and his rivals to the ultramarines

@Majorkill Neat. Several of my ship designs from my mod for Battlefleet Gothic Armada 2 (Skalgrim Mod) are shown here in your vid. With the soon completed 2.2 version, most of the known Glorianas are added as buildable ships in both skirmish and the campaign. Oh, and the Dark Mechanicum is being added as a new faction to the game.
So, I am a big fan of 40k, and have been for about 20 years, but despite all the cool stuff they do, and really liking Guard, Grey Knights, and Eldar, one of my absolute favorite things is Rogue Traders, and that means I really like ships, and their space stuff, along with the 40k game. I can't tell you how much I really hoped Battlefleet Gothic was going to make a return, when Vashtorr and his Arks of Omen plot was introduced. It's too bad that wasn't the plan,especially since Vashtorr is building super-battleships, and it will take more than a 2,000 pt army of something to stop those. Oh well.
You know what would be even cooler? The Flag Ships of the 2nd and 11th Legions being rediscovered.

Lorgar’s gloriana ship was destoryed at Nuceria, and the Abyss class ship survived and still serves as his Flagship on his Dark Pilgriamge in Imperium Nihilus according to chaos codex

The actual reason for removing of all the windows on the Iron Legion flagship is simple: Windows on board of a space ship are structural weaknesses even the best armoured glass is still weaker than armoured hullplating of half its thickness. It fits the lore of the Legion to get rid of that weakness to their ship.
I like how Major used pics of the Iron Blood, Endurance, and Abyss class battleship (3:48, 10:48, and 12:47, respectively) as they are depicted in Skalgrim Mod for Battleflet Gothic Armada 2.
For those wondering yes, Skalgrim Mod has pretty much every known Gloriana in its roster (except for the MacCrage's Honour, and Vengeful Spirit because they're already in the game). Skalgrim and his team tries to make them as accurate to the lore as possible, which does mean kitbashing parts, weapons, and abilities from other factions or other ships.
Edit: Beta testing for version 2.2 of the mod is currently underway. Replacing the pathetic and worthless Lost and Damned subfaction, with the Dark Mechanicus.
Edit 2: I forgot to mention the mod adds in an extra Phalanx. One bigger and mightier than the base game version. Because vanilla Phalanx isn't big or mighty enough.
I love how he publishes 2.1 the "final version", then works on getting the dark mechanicum as another subfaction (or at least a replacement of the lost and damned)

@@umutsen5606 don't worry, it and the Shadow of the Emperor are coming. Or already were there in version 2.1 prior. Can't remember exactly. Skalgrim originally didn't add them because he was abiding by the original lore, which states that both ships were destroyed during the Heresy. He does have the Chronicle of Ashes as the Lex Talonis. Major didn't say that the Chronicle was rechristened as Lex Talonis after it was given to the Nemesis chapter. So creating the Chronicle essentially duplicates it because it technically exists already, albeit under a different faction and name. If you wanna know what the ship could've looked like as a Chaos WB ship, just pretend the Monarchia Redeemer or the Balestar as a pre Nemesis Chronicle.
As for the Furious Abyss, its already in the game, with the picture at 12:48 being used in Major's video. But Skalgrim named it "Abyss class" instead of their in-universe individual names because all three of the "mega battleships" built by the WB during the Heresy were all of the same class. Furious Abyss, Trisagion, and the other one (forgot the name) are all Abyss class battleships. So they're essentially sister ships and given that the lore isn't very clear of any differences between the three, Skalgrim just added 1 to blanket all 3.

But yeah the 2.2 is adding the Dark Mechanicum as a playable faction by replacing the Lost and the Damned/renegade subfaction. Its a full roster. This was a great video, very intereting because I honestly tend to forget the Blood Angels even have a Gloriana-class considering how often it's mentioned. I would love to ssee some videos in this same vein too, about the other interesting ships of the Imperium/Chaos. Like the Terminus Est or the Imperator Somnium or that one class I forget the name of that's the only ship class that was only ever used by Chaos.

As an outsider looking in, it's amazing how much lore I learn about that seems absolutely critical to the 40k setting, only to find out it's actually ancient history from 10,000 years ago and mostly serves as backstory for the current setting. How do tabletop players deal with this? Do they specifically differentiate between a 40k era battle vs. Horus Heresy/30k era battles, or is it just whatever the heck they feel like pitting against each other for fun?
A video about other ship classes and the imperial navy would be great.
Also shout-out to the skallgrim mod developers in BFGA2, definitely one of the best mods out there. If y'all want to kill time and have hectic melee range void combat, highly recommend.
