So so lucky!! 😃 I sadly never did, born 10 yrs too late. Have got 2 copies of ‘75 “Fool For the City” albums, bought when they came out. One at home and one at my “happy place”. Slide guitarist Rod Price is something else too, like when he and Lonesome Dave do “call and response” w/their guitars on “I just Want to Make Love to You” song, spectacular musicians-band.
love foghat , 1979 night shift very rarely left the 8track player in my 74 Toyota. So good. Take me to the river, I'll be standing by. Start the whole thing again 👌
Just great rock and roll. In the book, Star Making Machinery (about Commander Cody recording and releasing an album), one of their record company people mentions that everyone at that label would do anything for Foghat. They were extremely professional, always on time and just great to work with. A real class act.
Thankfully, Foghat and Savoy Brown both had their prime "top of their game" performances documented in high quality on Midnight Special - both are blues rock giants!!
Couldn't agree more my friend. I always loved KISS the show, the look, and music. Foghat didn't have the big stage show but could out jam just about any band. And their song rocked just as hard as KISS. Two great bands. I really wish Foghat would have got the attention they deserved. Take care my friend and may God bless 🙏✝️🙏
Lonesome Dave! Coobeans! Saw these guys three or four times. Even as late as the early 90s in a bar danceclub. Dave was still rockin it even that late. Such a fun little boogie band. Thanks Midnight Special! Oh and for the unintiated, go check out Lonesome Dave when he was with Savoy Brown. Another great group!
Foghat were popular live in America but for some strange reason were relatively unknown in Britain. They constantly toured America. Maybe that’s why. You go where you’re most popular generally. I always thought they were a great Blues based Rock band! Lonesome Dave had a voice built for Stadiums! RIP
The Boogie Men- it just doesn't get any better than this. Saw them live in Corpus Christi, TX in '79, touring in support of "Stone Blue". A highlight of my youth, especially when you consider the opening act- a little band known as Judas Priest.
I never put my Ricky on a scale. I’d imagine it was in around 13 14 pounds easy. I used a 4 1/2” wide guitar strap to offset the pressure on my back and shoulder.
@@musicsavage707 Oh, ok, thank you. Haven’t watched it in many years. Believe that’s the one with Christoper Guest, Jamie Lee Curtis’s husband. When she saw his performance she told herself, I’m going to marry him, and they did-almost 40 years ago. Haha, tis cool.
@@KittyGrizGriz thx for sharing, didn't know that little bit of side trivia. Btw, big bottoms is one of the first songs they sing in the film, lyrics are hilarious
1st concert - Aerosmith, Foghat, Nugent, and the Outlaws - Pontiac Silverdome 1976. Foghat stole the show! Speaking on behalf of the 80,000 people there - Put these guys in the Rock n Roll HOF! WTF????
Saw these guys four times twice as the headliner twice as a backup band lonesome Dave always wore his black Converse tennis shoes the same ones I wear when I'm playing drums because they're the most comfortable to move around in rest in peace lonesome Dave peverate I also saw kiss once but I'd prefer foghat or yes or just about anybody else I wasn't that impressed with them although they seem to have gathered a large community of listeners just my opinion piece to everyone be safe
I date myself, but I used to go see Foghat and Kiss when they were opening for bands. Santa Monica Civic Auditorium... Yesterday and Today Opened, Kiss came out Blew Fire Everywhere..Rocked the Building til it shook, and Jo Jo Gunn was headliner. Once Kiss finished, the place emptied out. Used to pay $8 a ticket to see Led Zeppelin and Jethro Tull.
There's a band that should have done this show more than twice.
Word….
I would give this 1,000 thumbs up.
I agree X10.
They never disappointed me.
Their live shows were legendary for some serious jamming!
Lonesome Dave, the most underappreciated singer in rock
Best live band in rock and roll history!!Saw them many times with Lonesome Dave at the helm.
So so lucky!! 😃

Well you must get the first album which is killer. I actually got a guitar pick from Rod Price at a show, yes one energized band!!!

76, 77 n 78
Foghat is one of those bands that just stand out more as time goes on and we look back on what was good.
Their performance, and even their clothing, feel like New Years Eve! Love it. Thanks for this.
Thank you Midnight Special!!!
More please!!
Such a great band and their live performances showed it.
From the "Energized" album released January 6, 1974. RIP "Lonesome" Dave Peverett and Rod Price.

R.I.P. Lonesome Dave ✝️
I love it. No lip synching. No backing tracks. No Auto Tune.
Went to a lot of concerts in the early-mid 70s and no one was better than Foghat live.
Thankfully, Foghat and Savoy Brown both had their prime "top of their game" performances documented in high quality on Midnight Special - both are blues rock giants!!
I still can't believe I saw this lineup in a small club in strip mall outside of Atlanta in the 90s
Foghat is a GREAT band, thank you!!
One of the best bands from the 70`s Still sounds as good today as it did then! One of my favorite Foghat songs.
Kiss Alive was one of the greatest live albums ever, but Foghat Live was just as good. Great band. Long live Lonesome Dave.
Had them both, great live albums!
Foghat Live is awesome awesome awesome😎
Best version ever of ‘Fool for the City’ on Foghat Live!

those are exactly my top 2 live albums and Cheap Trick at Budokan is number 3
From their Energized album; excellent album!
I saw them in concert in 1977. Great show.
Best Band Ever! I saw them twice.
Great stuff.
Happy New Year's Eve! 🎉
Happy Saturday... thank you for sharing 💖
This was the episode and that was the song that immediately made me a Foghat fan! God I loved those days!!! ❤🎶🎸
Sorry RHCP but this is truly Hall of Fame material right here...!!!
What a great song from the golden age.
Utterly terrific! Loved the slide playing especially.
Rod Price, working his magic 🪄🎸
Damn those guitars sound good
I got free radio tickets to see them back in 81.
Awesome. Thanks so much for this video. Great band. More please.
That was a true rock & roll band. So many great albums. I think Rock & Roll and Energized were my favs.
Cool! Some good time rock and roll! 😎
They sounded amazing and loud at the stadiums great slide guitar, rythym guitar, voice and drums and a lot of hits🎉
Foghat were the most American sounding English rock band ever!
Wow. So glad to catch this live presentation. Really love me some FogHat!
These guys were SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good...........................................
Seventies? Yes please.
March 1, 1974 for those wondering the date. Didn't see a date listed in the description.
I was, thanks!
It's Great to see This Show Again
Extraordinary slide guitar playing!
Massive rock sound from foghat ... jus look at all those Sunn amps!
Foghat Live is one of my favorite albums

Foghat... my first major Rock Concert - SF CA - Fool For The City.

Thanxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx so much for posting that, that's the only one left from their 2 performances that hadn't been posted yet!
The guitar tone here!!!!
Lost art of the sound.
RIP to Lonesome Dave and Rod "the bottle" Price. This is classic Rock folks.
Great and famous band🎉
Fantástic
👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Tony Stephens on bass and Rod the slider Price wooooo-hooooo
"I want one of those guitars that's like, a double guitar!"
Look cool but weigh a ton. I had a 76 Rickenbacker 4080 for a couple years. Got rid of it and my back thanked me.
It's actually a bass and a guitar. Bass on top. Guitar on bottom. I think Dan Hartman had one when he was with Edgar Winter singing "Free Ride".
@@johnsoos6907 Yup, rhythm guitarist in Argent used one on "Hold your head up". Might've been during pilot episode of The Midnight Special ('72).

What can you say about fog hat nothing but rock and roll baby you have never seen a rock show if you haven't seen FOG HAT 🔥🔥🔥
I got a hankering to watch This is Spinal Tap all of a sudden!
Who else saw that double neck bass and immediately thought "Big Bottom"?😂😂
@djavidianmx1832 lol, great catch!
Hmmm, what’s that “mean”, specifically? Or maybe I shouldn’t ask, curious 👀 😛

Saw them in 81 at the Astrodome in Houston with REO Speedwagon and Heart. Great memories!
Hope to see soon some clips of Rory Gallagher's 1974 appearances.
Whew, me too! Love Rory, the Irish ☘️ wizard of guitarists.
Got a couple thousand hours of Foghat in the 1970's 🎸
Absolutely love em
Great!
Never seen a double neck bass guitar before. Cool.
Saw Them in 1998, the only original member was Lonesome Dave!!!!!!
THANK YOU . I LOVE THE 70s
Would be kool if Tony Stevens could join Roger Earl's current version of Foghat.
Bottle necks, double neck bass, and Roger Earl. What could be better?
when it was really rock and roll!
Happy new year Midnight Special!!!🎉🎆😘💕
Good stuff! The band that was Savory Brown!
Yeah savory brown gravy!😂

“Foghat”? Why, that’s quite specific, mate. I’ve developed a head covering that can survive any weather condition, guvna!
I liked these guys when they were in SAVOY BROWN minus guitarist Rod Price
First had the 8-track of Stone Blue
RIP Lonesome Dave Rod The Bottle Price & Craig McGregor
Ever notice how Grand Funk quit when Foghat started?
Tengo el vinilo foghat live aparece este tema espectacular gracias por compartir.
Rock and Roll Outlaws

Foghat Leghorn.
Please include the date of the performance. Of course the hair and costumes date the decade.😅 Shag haircuts and handlebar mustaches.😅
