Criminally underrated.
I’m smiling from ear to ear, from the memories this brings. Gimme my 70’s back. 😊
Ya my feeling too!
...Love Fred Turner's Fist Pounding Arena Rock Vocals!...Look Like pack of Vikings!!!
Fred turner and raimond voss from the german Band Torfrock have the deepest and strongest voices, i ' ve ever heard
This Canadian band should be in the hall of fame.
They woulda if they coulda
USA HOF is a joke. BTO def belongs….
You got that right. Better yet; Musician & Writers HF. A Great Band!!
Absolutely 💯
The sound of these guys was very distinctive, such a good band !!
Nice! All 3 Bachman brothers with Fred Turner. Love Midnight Special
Amen
Fab!
C.F. Turner was sounding good!!
Yes 🙂
Fred Turner has that special rock voice!
Grad party in the bush, off the main highway, small B.C. town in the Rockies (Cranbrook). Tour bus driving by saw the lights and they stopped in and had a beer with us. This was June 1972. It was the band "Brave Belt". Randy and his Guess Who band mates, except Burton, (they had a falling out). What a pleasant surprise for a bunch of drunk 17 year olds who were into Rock.
That must have been amazing 👍✌️
Good old fashioned Canadian blue collar rock and roll. BTO was one of the best of Canadian rock.
Major goose bumps the moment he began to sing - right back to 1974 !
WOW! The Bachman brothers and Fred Turner!
I was fourteen years old when I first heard this song and have loved it ever since. Made this California kid a fan for life!🎸🎸🎸🥁
The guitar Player, right on stage, was it Tim bachman ? i only remember randy and robbie.
@@cosmopolit670 Yes, Tim Bachman! Great guitar player, not sure why he left, but Blair Thornton was just as great 👍😎
@@JoseRamirez-nw7pg thank you for your quick answer. I think , Tim made a career as a music Manager or Producer later, greetings from germany
@@cosmopolit670 Thank you for your update as well! Greetings from Northern California 🎸😎!
One of my favorite bands from the early 70’s. Great driving tunes.
🤟🏽🤟🏽🤟🏽🤟🏽🤟🏽🤟🏽🤟🏽🤟🏽🤟🏽🤟🏽🤟🏽🤟🏽
Heck Ya !!!
IDK why, but rock musicians seldom look like stocky, blue collar types, like the Bachmans and Fred Turner. It’s kind of refreshing, to see rock stars that actually look like a lot their fans.
That voice is unbelievable, and unique!
Apart from John Fogerty of CCR perhaps?
@@paulbissitt4754 My two very favorite voices, followed by Jack Russell from Great White.
Kudos, to the Midnight Special, for putting on such amazing groups with endless talent 🎉🎉. I grew up watching the Midnight Special, and it was the best show ever on Saturday night 🎉🎉. This really takes me back to my youth when rock and roll was rock and roll 🎉🎉
BTO is supporting their very first album here! BTO II didn't come out until a couple months later in December 1973.
Back to a time when you plugged your shit in, cranked it up, and just played!! ❤ As a kid in the mid-70's, my parents played Cheap Trick, Foghat, and BTO!!! I love watching those old school drummers, especially!
He was a Ringo disciple...whipping that hi hat like a whore on Friday night!
No one can growl like CF Turner! Honestly, neither he nor Bachman or ever going to win, male vocalist of the year, but it worked for them for a very, very long time!
For different tastes, different colors....To be honest, I prefer those Turner's growls much more than that Robert Plant's affeminate voice.
This is great !!! Thanks midnight special !!!
I worked with Randy from '84 to '93....played drums in the studio and on tour.......so cool to see this version of BTO (with Timmy & Robbie Bachman, both of who died recently), and Fred, singing like a Harley......brings back so many memories
Just listen to those awesome solos from Randy. Simply phenomenal! The sound that made a kid from the Midwest a rock fan for life.
he's showing that strat who's boss!
My God.
Easily duplicated and not unique
@@nathandodge665 - So are your trite comments.
@@shyman99 not unique
Rap groups in the hall of fame ???? Listen to these guys!!!
Great you see all the Bachman brothers on stage together.
Fred Turner is the best!!
A great tune, not everyone knows this one.
Yea and another great one is blue collar
I played this over and over love this song
@@jamesmack3314yes! This Cajun man's favorite BTO tune.
@@dehydratedwater9806 it’s on a higher level that some of the other tunes very cool arrangement and played with style and precision
@@jamesmack3314 and a different kind of laid back chill.
What fun those guys were having. Fred kicking air was awesome.
This is just great. Can’t think of any other words. Bachman-turner overdrive I think is one of the more underrated rock groups ever.
As a fellow Canadian, I am proud of these Rockers.
As an American, I am proud of these Canadian rockers!
@@abelincoln3287 As Canadian I'm proud to have American as my brother.
@@abelincoln3287I totally agree! Well said! 😊
Turner sure had a John Fogerty vibe. Perfect timing as BTO took off just as CCR had come to an end.
Like CCR on steroids
Fred Turner has that whiskey & cigarette raspy voice, nothing like John Fogerty.
@@MichaelSSmith-hs5pwPoint well taken, Mike. However; Fogerty sorta had a raspy voice himself. W/that said; while CCR's my all-time fave band, BTO's in the same stratosphere.
@@billybandyk0720
Yeah, I like them both equally for different reasons.👍
@@MichaelSSmith-hs5pw KOOL!!!!! Glad 2 hear, Mike. W/that said; give me some "Blue Collar" as I 'm "Looking Out For #1" as I "Roll On Down The Highway" while I'm "Takin' Care Of Business" bc *You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet". There4; I'm goin' "Down, Down".
I remember seeing these guys for the first time ,It was on The Midnight Special....I was completly blown away.I still love their music.
BTO and Grand Funk RR were my gateway to hard rock as a kid back in '74. Never looked back! Still have my old BTO vinyls and their 1st album (with this song and Blue Collar) still kicks major @$$!✌🤘👍
I came here to say much the same thing. The Beatles were my first and favorite rock band. But when they broke up, I immediately turned to BTO and Grand Funk Railroad. Both bands were so hard driving, that they appealed greatly to this teenage boy back then. And here I am, 63 years old and I'm still rocking to BTO and GFR! Cheers!
Blue collar is a frickin great song….maybe their best
You're not kidding! Back in '73 it was fast cars and high school girls with BTO and Grand Funk in the old eight track, drinking beer and drive in movies! Those sure were the "good old days!" Miss them dearly!
Blue Collar is all time classic.
@@waynejohanson1083 such a cool song….
God the level of musicianship back then as a musician man I wish I lived back then
I saw them on the Not Fragile tour in 1974. It was my first ever concert and I had a ball.
I remember this episode very well since this was a late night show my Mom allowed me to watch at 12 years old. Those times are gone forever sadly. This was one of the very best shows on TV ahead of Don Kirshner's Rock Concert and Saturday Night!
great post, thanks...with Tim there and CF’s fab scorched Earth vocals, Robbie’s steady drumming and of course Randy’s slick soloing...
I loved cruised in my Muscle car with BTO on cassette blaring god that gives me memorizes!
The same line-up minus one from the previous band Brave Belt. The first Bachman-Turner Overdrive album was going to be called "Brave Belt III" but became of course the self-titled "Bachman-Turner Overdrive". These guys knew how to rock and entertain a crowd.
Rock 'n Roll, baby!!!
RIP Tim & Rob.
Yeah, I was really sad to hear of Tim's passing. He was a good friend and a sweet dude.
Randy bad ass,Guitar 🎸 player..BTO,,FOREVER 😊
Love this song 2024 ROCK ON 👍🥰👍
Truck stop bruisers. Im in England and was 10 when You Aint Seen Nothin' Yet came out so im not familiar with their other songs but this is great. These Midnight Specials are awesome
The only group that could be both the band and the bouncer
Wouldn't want to mess with Fred Turner in those days. 😄
@@gabriel38gI’d say any one of the band members here, could sure mess someone up if they felt inclined 🤛 🤜 😉
I'm sure they could Take Care of Business.
What a great band. Not many rockers come close to Turner's powerhouse vocals.
Love that voice!!!
The Bachman brothers & Fred Turner ruled the mid 70s!🎶🎸👌
Damn fuckin' right, Mike; they sure did.
@@billybandyk0720
👍👌✌️🎸🎶🎵👏
@@MichaelSSmith-hs5pw Being from Detroit, MI, USA (a stone's throw away from Windsor, ONT, CAN); I've always had an affinity 4 Canadian musicians (BTO & Ian Thomas in particular).
@@billybandyk0720
Yeah, BTO, Canada’s claim to fame for sure.
🎶💕
@@MichaelSSmith-hs5pw U betcha along w/The Guess Who (Randy's original band).
Sure wish I had a chance to see the lads.
LOVE IT. Thank You
You are so welcome!
73-74 the peak of R&R.
Fred Turner has one of the greatest rock voices ever. BTO are simply awesome.
One of my favorite B. T. O songs along with Hold Back The Water.. Greg
Randy is killing his Strat!
I saw them live in 1986 when they opened for Van Halen.
No lip synching there! As it should be…great live performance!👍
Thin Lizzy toured with them in 1975. Lizzy guitarist Brian Robertson said each member of BTO woluld eat a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken other each gig. He also said BTO were Mormons and oldest brother Randy would lock younger brother Robbie (drummer) in his hotal room so he wouldn't party with Thin Lizzy. Seems Robbie got drunk on the first night of the tour. Also, Randy was one of, if not the first to put humbucker pick-ups on a Strat body.
Yeah, hard to believe those guys could resist all the debauchery back then, but I guess Randy was a real saint so to speak
Haha!! Crazy story about their huge appetites & locking up poor lil’ Robbie in his hotel room, smart move, big brother. Thin Lizzy was the definition of a “party band!!” Thanks for sharing! 😂
🎶🎵🎶.."gimme your chicken please" 🎵🎶🎵....
@@michaelkoszowski3716 🤣 😂 WTH, that’s so funny!! 🍗
He is no longer a mormon. His son Tal had lost his faith in that religion and Randy also saw the light so no longer follows it.
Was my very first concert in 1976, been going to concerts ever since, two more years and celebrating 50yrs of concerts. Rock on
Looks like the boys had a few Molson's before that gig!! I love it.
Who knew Randy started the pointy guitar craze. Truly ahead of his time!
R.I.P. to Robbie and Tim Bachman. ❤
Fred Turner is awesome
That was amazing. BTO playing 70s rock live and straight ahead--as it was intended!
🔥🎸🔥💃🏼🔥🎶🔥✌🏻😎
This brings me back to my teens. Just amazing all around band. Fred Turner has an amazing distinct Rock voice.
BTO kickin some ass !!!
Gfr The rains still falling on my window pane
I emailed with Robbie once…..asked him if he still lived in Canada…He said..”only in the summer”..I replied..”smart man!” …
RIP Tim & Rob Bachman!✌✌
Wow! On my birthday! 👍🇺🇲🇨🇦

You're sweet! Thank you! 😊
Lots of good bands from Winnipeg.
now this is REAL rock, that way rock is supposed to sound
The 70's wouldn't be complete without BTO.
Young people.....behold, the wonder of true rock and roll!
If you don't know BTO go and get ya some, you wont be sorry. You aint seen nothin yet!!
❤
Saw them in a little club in Vegas in 1989.
Fantastic.
Randy had a old amp head build out of plywood.
And almost blew it up.
Fred monster vocals.
One of the Best Canadian bands💞🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🎖️
The best imho, as a Brit.
Rock hall of fame they disgust me
Best rock band in history
Very rare video of the late Tim Bachman who would soon be replaced by Blair Thornton.
Blair Thorntons contributions to the band cannot be denied. They began incorporating “dual lead” guitar solos with Blair sharing lead guitar parts with primary lead guitarist Randy Bachman.
He’s pretty easy on the eyes, too 😍
yes I didnt realize it was Tim playing on this song as opposed to Blair. Very rare video indeed
These guys are phenomenal!
Love this !
And these guys aren't in the rock and roll hall of fame? Shame on those folks! Rock on brothers!🎸
The rrhof is a crock of shit...
Maybe they're just waiting for Randy to die, too.
They said first Taylor Kelce Swift gets in and then after that BTO
Great Music, count myself lucky to have grown up with this band 🎉
Now that’s my kind of in your face rock and roll. I only got to see them twice live over years. Strange that there is no crowd. This must have been one of this Milli Vanilli takes.
That band is timeless,I seen them when I was 13 y o at st Clair college for a chocolate bar wrapper!
Listened while in the US Coast Guard...at 20 years of age....damn good, still remains so...while we are all taking care of business.
That was some high-energy performance! That should kickoff your Monday!
Happy Monday... thank you for sharing! 💖
Good Ole dayyyys
@@joehartman9045 The best!! 👌
Gotta love those Garnet amps.
Freds intonation of the lyric “liquored” @0.47 🥃 is pretty cool!
dig those platforms shoes!!
the real fecking deal
Still listening!!
Wow. Awesome. Raw and badass.
Incredible performance. Rock on!
BTO is a GREAT Band!! 🍁🇨🇦🍁
Fred Turner is straight up Aggressive and Guttural for maximum effect on the lead vocals…big burly men…not to be trifled with!…ooof! 👊 ✊
I was 16 years old the first time I went to a BTO concert.
What a great band! Had such a great time when I saw them - an all nighter!
Woah I remember this 1!
Wonderful music from 1973 😊
This was recorded on my first birthday. What a trip.
Damn great voice 😊
Seen these guys same night thorogood played at suny Binghamton everyone went to that but 3 of us at a ritzy music hall...they absolutely blew the doors off that old orchestra bldg...still a top 10 after prob 500 oncerts
