- "Never Knew Love Like This Before" is a song written and produced by songwriters James Mtume and Reggie Lucas for American R&B recording artist Stephanie Mills' second studio album Sweet Sensation (1980). The song became Mills' biggest worldwide hit.
I took the song and edited it a bit. Thus creating a longer version. For the video clip I used footage I've found on Vimeo and CZcams. No copyright infringement intended.

Ahhh! The summer of 1980! Remember it well. Only 43 years ago and have passed. A lifetime for millions. That music, that style, that era, that people, that America, that country gone forever and will never return again. Sad but true. The 1950's , the 1960's, the 1970's, the 1980's, the 1990's was America's peak in everything we did, we lived, we inspired. 2023's America is just a shadow and carcass of what it was once upon a time. Never to return again. Glad i lived it all like millions alive then and still alive now. Good luck all with this America, but we'll need a miracle to survive it now.

This song helped me to transition from the 70's to the 80's. It was a time to be living the life in the 70's and 80's. For every moment in time there was a song to justify that one moment. I had fun, am quite older now but am on the look out for all the good music that was then. Miss those memorable times. I have beautiful memories of an era long ago that no one can take away from me. I've lived it, ate it, breathed it, and now with my memories.

If you were around in 1980 this song Never knew love like this before was played like crazy on the radio. I was in the 4th grade back then and thought this was the best song.

In 1980 My Mum and Dad bought this 7" vinyl single of this brilliant disco classic by the lovely Stephanie Mills. The 7" single my parents bought back then was released in 1980 by 20th Century Records (Yes that right the same as '20th Century Fox' Film company who owned there owned there own record label too. Anyway this fantastic Disco classic brings back so many, many wonderful memories for me it was a massive hit here in the UK in 1980 I was 7 years old at the time. Disco from the 70s and early 80s will live on forever not like the rubbish music, artists and groups you hear today on the radio, I have no time for today's music but give me Disco era and I'm in 7th heaven!
