We are going on a mini trip this weekend. I put a hard mount for the Go Pro on the front of my truck. I’m hoping to get some good footage. We should have something new (finally) sometime next week!
Good review of the Casita! You’re right about the sound from the air conditioner drowning out the sound from the TV. I might think about adding a sound bar in my trailer. Thanks for that tip! I love my Airstream but I hope I never have to replace a panel 😟. Good luck with finding a new trailer!
Hi there, Thank you for this honest and thoughtful review of your Casita. When we started getting serious about purchasing a Casita, your videos were some of the first one's we watched. Fast forward one year and we are picking up our new Casita (Spirit Deluxe) the end of this month. We were originally wanting to purchase your floor plan, but that was an even longer wait. I am glad we went with the Spirit Deluxe floor plan and your comments have provided some confidence that we made the right decision. "Live-ability" is such an important thing. Anyway, I do have a question for you... I believe you have a Honda EU2200i generator. How did this work out for you? Did it run your 13,500 btu air conditioner? Did you ever try to run a hair dryer with it? Good luck with your new RV search! Thanks again!
Hi Amy! Such a wonderful comment, thank you for sharing!!! We never tried to run the AC with the generator but we suspect it wouldn’t easily operate a 13500 BTU. Perhaps with an easy start? And I can’t answer the hair dryer comment because we don’t use one. We primarily used the generator to recharge our AGM batteries. Happy camping and safe travels!
Great video. I certainly understand your thinking. If I camp more in the future, I’ll start looking at something a little larger also. One thing I do love about my Tab 400 is the ducted air.
It will be interesting to see what direction you go. We have had a few over the years and believe it or not one of our favorites was a 1974 Holiday Rambler. All aluminium frame with a full aluminum belly skirt and foam core walls. Built in anti sway and 1 piece aluminum roof. We actually still have that one. The one we really liked for travel and regret selling was a Class B Road Trek.
Hi Ann! Some of the repairs were minor, like a couple of the roller shades wouldn’t stay up during travel, an outside light had a short in it, a drawer wouldn’t stay closed. The most serious issue was that we discovered a hole in the floor under the sink. Come to find out they thought we were getting a furnace which would’ve required the hole. They just neglected to patch it before they laid the flooring down.
Good luck let us know how selling your Casita goes I'm curious are you going to trade it or sell it outright. What you said about the Casita is correct. You would have to be a little nutty to want to full-time in it. I could go a week maybe two and that would be about it. We mostly just go for weekends. How many miles did you put on it? Did you have any issues with anything breaking because of all the Travelling?

Yes, it’s kinda sad. We drove up to Mexico Beach earlier in the week, and it appears they’re completely rebuilding it.

We’ve already made the decision. We’ve put a deposit on an Oliver. And you’re right, the Holiday Ramblers are very nice!

We’ll probably just sell it. It’s been a good trailer after 15k miles, if I were to guess. And no issues traveling at all!
