Hello once again, years ago with my 89 1200 Sportster I installed a new tricky gas cap. From there I started having problems. And at the same time I change the fuel line and took that insulator that came with the factory fuel hose off. I started getting vapor lock show me nuts.. the fuel cap that works best on my bike is one that has a great free-flowing intake when you test it with your mouth. And that's silly looking plastic insulating that goes on the outside of the fuel hose makes a big difference. Just saying keep those videos coming
Thank you Frank! I agree on that corrugated plastic sleeve, keeps engine heat off fuel line. And definitely agree on a breather cap because vacuum won't allow fuel to drain out of tank.
@@motonisto you did just what I would have done, I thought the clear return hose was clever, I might have added a aluminum carburetor shield. phenolic spacers are mandatory, get them for your carb but intake gasket. I have used them for years in hot for Chevy. cold dence fuel charge.
Hi Motonisto! love your builds, amazing craftsmanship and beautiful bikes. I've been curious where do you usually buy the vintage bike parts from India, can you please share their website links?
Thank you for the compliment! Aluminum sheet metal usually comes from Enfield County (India) and headlights come from any Zundap reproduction outlets (Eastern Europe and China).
WAS running lean! Hence this vapor lock episode. Jets were appropriate size and intake seals were not leaking, so that left vapor lock as only remaining lean condition cause. All fixed now but I'll still keep the color on the pipes. Thanks for heads-up!
I like the way you routed the external breather…..
Heck, the fuel routing in itself is a work of art
Hopefully it'll help another builder!
Cool tank and cool build. Has a Norvin look to it. Congrats.
Thank you!!!

I like your gas gauge tube 😊, great solution on that fuel presure.
I hope it helps somebody!

@@DANTHETUBEMAN yes, the plastic carb spacers solved the engine heat transfer, I made the same change on two other Sportsters I have
Great looking bike and sweet engineering solution. thank you for the video. Have a great new year.
Thank you! Happy new year!
Great job !!!
Thank you!
Very cool bike!
Thank you John!

Your bike is runnig too lean, hence why your pipes are turning blue
