RJ Corman Pennsylvania Lines - Winter 2013

- In this video, we'll take a look at RJ Corman's rail operations in the Clearfield Cluster of north-central Pennsylvania. This group of lines was purchased from Conrail in the mid-1990s and contains a vast network of branch lines serving the coal industry in this part of the state. Today, coal still makes up the majority of rail traffic here, although there is some general freight service as well.
We will start at Cresson on a February afternoon, where we will chase a short 1-car RJCP01 north from the NS interchange at Cresson to a location near Munster, PA, a few miles north. Next, we will head to Clearfield on another day to see another RJCP01 crew bringing a pair of light engines down to Cresson. We'll follow the set on our way to Mahaffey, where we catch coal shuttle train RBS05 as it comes off the Cherry Tree Sub and heads to Clearfield. We'll follow this train into Clearfield, finishing off with a scene in the pseudo-street running trackage in downtown. - Auta a dopravní prostředky

Corman always keeps his locomotives looking so nice. Is there still as much coal traffic on this line as 9 years ago? Nice to see so much tonnage.
great vid. both sides of my family are from there. gee, remember when conrail used to own that line. my dad used to watch the good ol' blue from his backyard. and before cr there was the old New York Central. my great grandmothers father on my moms side used to be an engineer for the old NYC.

Probably about 2-3 a day on those lines. Since it's almost entirely unit coal train traffic it's not entirely consistent, although some operations such as the shuttle train are more predictable.
I can see why you chased that 4 engine consist then it is a sweet lash-up no doubt about that.

PRR & NYC. From Cresson to Mahaffey thru Bradley Jntn, & Patton was PRR. Chery tree to Bradley Junction (no RJC line but would be cool if it was opened again; is PRR. Clymer PA to Mahaffey to Clearfield in NYC.

sadly no the coal is buisness up there is really slipping
cool stuff Clymer has started reloading trains again as of late 2016 and have been quite busy loading trains so far in 2017. Clymer, Leslie, and 2 other load outs have loaded so far in 2017.
How many trains would you say they run a day? Nice catches and lash-ups
