Stop clipping your phrases. Vibrato hasn't got the warmth required for this piece. You quite often support the first finger with the second, which produces a trill when you execute vibrato on it (have a listen with your eyes closed). And play in tune.

There is no need.You are right. But expressiveness comes through my body, face and musicality. That's how it is for me to be expressive.
Actually the part of the brain we use to play the cello is also the part of the brain that controls facial expressions. Many musicians will lose track of what their face is doing when they are deeply emersed in their playing. Nothing wrong with this.
