#Nikon #Z6 #Mirrorless - Věda a technologie
I cracked up after that cry followed by the "that's a Canon fanboy" comment 😂
that's the best thing ever 😂
@7:38 - For those who want quick access to the cries xD
The Northups? Please. I watched their Hasselblad review and they were defending the indefensible. That was a cringy review. If that's what passes for logic with those two....
czcams.com/video/zAMiR-3j8sw/video.html
I cracked up when I saw the price for this "affordable" camera... yes I know he put affordable in "quotation" marks.
I laughed my ass off at that.
Man, I miss these two guys.
I'm a C-5 quadriplegic with limited arm and no hand function that relies completely on the touchscreen to take pictures so I'll be taking the upgrade to the Z6 from my Olympus system. It was brilliant to use in the store with all the functions usable right from the screen and I got one right away! I have wanted to go with Sony so bad and waited for so long but their touchscreens always sucked, not even a touch shutter function which I absolutely need. They still look like great cameras but in the smartphone age i don't know how hard it is to throw in a decent touchscreen on cameras you don't have to use it if you don't want to.
Have fun with the new cam. Hope you like it as much in the real world as you did in the store. That's awesome the technology is there for you to be able to use the touchscreen. Happy shooting!
Nick Rath hey! Me too!! I’m technically a C4 SCI, but I’m a functional C5. Rear-ended while at a red light. I’ve enjoyed using a Z6 with the wired remote shutter release to trigger by holding it in my mouth. Great hobby, and glad to see other tetraplegics shooting stuff 😬
My main system is still Sony e-mount, as I’ve got a TON of Zeiss and G-Master glass. It’s lame 😒 (hehe) that they haven’t yet integrated full touchscreen capabilities on A7/A9 yet. I mainly use an A7ii, because they make a great, tiny little shutter release that’s about 2” x 1” and super easy to hold with your mouth.
Again, watching on CZcams because I can't afford one
Afnan Studio lucky for you then you won’t be disappointed with it
@@spud1252 haha is it really that bad? I'm still happy using d700
Afnan Studio, Agreed. Camera companies make money. Photographers make photographs with the equipment they have. The £250 or so extra I would have had to pay for the adaptor (which wont work with my excellent low element screw drive lenses) could have got me a super used 60mm F2.8 Nikkor macro lens.
same, though I'd want the z7. lol
I got mine in Tuesday and shoot primarily with a D4. The reviews here is spot on. I don't have any native lenses, and uses the adapter with all my lenses. I can say the focus is good not as fast as my D4 but it works. I'm happy with my purchase and glad I held off for a Nikon Mirrorless. I have way too much glass invested in Nikon to change over..
I know this review is old but how did the focusing improve with the latest firmware ?
Recently got a D4 and it feels great to shoot with. Not feeling like switching to mirrorless anytime soon.
@@nadantagaming2276 Yeah, I shoot both and I can say they both do great for different jobs. I like about the mirrorless is that you can see all the exposure on the fly but I like my D4 for action and doing photo shoots. I did pick up a D30 for vlogging a couple of weeks ago. Check out my vlog and page for the raw behind the scenes. Shows me using the D4 and D6. D4 with strobes.

New video, I see, I like, then I watch. Maybe one day I’ll be able to get a camera like that! Maybe when I start working in the summer.
This is a brilliant review!! Informative, funny, entertaining and most importantly based on real world usage!! This is why I always enjoy watching reviews by Kai!!
Excellent, fun and informative video, thank YOU as always. Reinforced my purchase decision, enjoying the Z6
Kai catches the eye. Incisive information together with fascinating approach! Love his vids.
got my z6 today super excited. it has already started putting a dent on sony and canon market in India. added along with D500.. time to retire d7000
The guy at 8:27. The look of defeat when he overheard them. He must've realized he made the wrong camera purchase.
"For rectal use only"; can't wait to see those freshly taken sphincter photos straight from the Z6!
Best way to test "low light" shooting amirite?
That lens is widely used for colonoscopies.
I love PJ. So happy to see him in a video again.
"for rectal use ONLY"
10/10 I need these stickers:D
I got mine on Amazon. There's like 500 stickers in a package, so I'm putting them on everything.
don't always pick a camera based on one aspect...
why are you the only photographer on CZcams I heard saying this!
I'm probably just very wrong in that case
I don‘t think so. Like you said, it‘s not always the case.
@@KaiManWong Dont you mean very wong??? haaaaaaaa (kill me)
Kai W Not at all, you have a right to your opinion and your findings. At least unlike most fanboys in CZcams - you actually get to try lots of different cameras, so you're qualified to judge from your own perspective what you feel is best.
...unless it has focus issues.
Great to see them back together ;)
Mmmh, the reason, why the Z6 focusses better than the Z7 might be due to the Z6s Pixels being bigger, and so the Phase-detect Pixels being bigger as well.
Absolutely spot on analysis. It's rare to see a comment on a youtube video that is written by an intelligent person. Kudos to you.
Makes sense
its better with the new update too
You 2 are hilarious AF! Awesome together. You are right Kai. I bet Nikon just programmed their AF algo to render all Sony cameras blurry.
all I need in this life of mine is fujifilm x100f and I’m good to get on with it. great review as usual.
I been using the Z6 a lot i really like it.
Reading through the comments I noticed that everybody who has actually gone ahead and bought a Z6 is very pleased with their purchase, whilst the majority of the negative comments come from those who don't own or havn't tried one. This is helping me with my decision.
Depends! For me and for doing street photography I think the X-T3 is taking the number one spot!
it's not full frame - he is making a recommendation for full frame mirrorless
@@richardjacobson5236 Oh lol. You are right! I heard "Mirrorless" only. Got it! =)
only for street photography, ricoh GR is better than xt3
@@silverrayleigh6284 I own both and a beg to differ. Value for money GR might win - But I'd prefer shooting with my X-T3 a lot more.
kunto ... not if you want to shoot with a 35mm or a 50mm 😁
I'm ordering one of these for video. I will pair it with a Gh5s and an Atomos. I already have F mount glass that I speed boost with the GH system. I mainly want this for gimbal mounted AF. IMO this is the first Nikon camera with usable video capabilities. It won't replace my other cameras but hopefully, it can do that one job. BTW, watch out for those spearmint rhinos
Great video Kai! Do you have any information from Nikon about what is causing such a delay over here in the US with the shipping of the z6 cameras? They are back ordered everywhere. Thanks for your time.
“Its probably the same sensor, goddammit!”
That’s vintage Kai.
The Sony has a dedicated exposure compensation dial. That's a wonderful thing to have. You 're right about the white balance, Sony's pics always look a bit cold.
Solid work Kai!
Are you going for a Top Gear like style? If so you are killing it!
THAT SAID, I've had the Z6 for a few days and I love it for the price.
The Adobe DNG converter will process Z6 RAW images. It’s beta and will expire the end of the year. Presumably they will have updated Lightroom by then. But it works fine.
I have had the Z6 for five days now and have been using mostly manual focus lenses like Nikkor AI-S lenses. IBIS is superb on this camera, and with focus peaking through the EVF and the ability to quickly change between registered non-CPU glass suddenly this class of lenses has new life. Give it a try. Great for street and video. We don’t need auto-focus for everything 😉
Škoda, love when I see smth from Czech!
The native 24-70 f4 on the Z6 was a dream to shoot with during the launch event here in Brisbane. Although i really wanted to play with their new bokeh beast! (not available)
These older videos before 2.0 firmware release in May2019 sought to be redone or pulled down because the AF is completely different and now is a very suitable replacement for any action DSLR. I recently sold my D850 because it was getting so little use after getting the Z6 and the funds generated from that will add a Z7 to the kit.Low light focusing is now better than DSLRs and action and burst is as good or even faster than the D850. The Eye-AF works well but for a portrait photographer it is not needed but it seems to be popular with new camera owners. Based on handling, XQD reliability, ergonomics and menu, great EVF, build quality, focus peaking accuracy, AF- speed and accuracy, weather sealing, IBIS performance, color, low light high ISO IQ, video performance, connectivity, and access to S lenses I can't think of a better camera currently on the market for long term return on investment. The Panasonic S1 is well made with good weather sealing also but heavy and large with very expensive lenses but suffers from only having contrast AF
Hey Stan, Nikon Z6 o Nikon D850 ?
Z6 or 850 ?
@@mostafa1996mazyad I bought a Z7 originally because the country where I live now had Z7 imported but not yet at that time any Z6. I had high res in the D850 so really wanted the the faster and lower light capable Z6. The dealer I get my gear from was willing to trade the Z7 in for a Z6 when it became available. The manager threw in a 35mm 1.8 and 50 1.8 S lens to cover the difference in cost. I had the Z7 for 3 weeks and used it daily and got the first Z6 available in the city. The Z6 has been my primary camera for 2 years and love it. I sold the D850 because it just was not getting used. Occasionally an art director will insist on larger files in studio work so I still had the D800 but for all studio or field commercial shooting and all my personal shooting has been on the Z6 which I love for its reasonable file size, low light performance, and DR. Now that the Z7 2 is officially announced I am interested in adding the Z7 2 and finally selling all my F mount cameras and lenses. The S lenses are so good that I never use the F mount. The Z6 with 85 1.8 S actually delivers better images than the excellent D850 with even the best F lenses. The Z mount allows corner to corner resolving power that was just not possible with the small diameter F mount. That is the reason Z cameras consistently produce better images than the Sony cameras due to their small deeper flange on their mount. Canon and Panasonic have also gone with large diameter flanges but they have deeper flange distance than the Z mount so have a harder time matching the corner to corner performance of the much lower cost S lenses. So, to be fulling in the mirrorless camp with a large collection of excellent S lenses it is time to add a Z7 2 for higher pixel density for product and other studio clients. My paid work really fell off this year since Covid arrived so selling off the F lenses will cover it and a 58 0.95 with enough left over for the stellar 70-200 S 2.8, probably the best zoom every made
Ты пользуешься Инстаграм ?
i really like the z6... a very sensible choice indeed
I'll freely admit I've hit analysis paralysis with all these damn cameras nowadays. I've been 'deciding' for like 4 years. To be fair though, I'm really dumb.
the tool behind the camera, or the tool behind the lens...?
Great video as always 👍
Thought you and Lok were the cutest couple on CZcams 😂🤣😂
Hi. I am trying to choose a camera. For my family pictures and videos. The choices are Nikon z6 or Sony a6600. I favor the Nikon for its sharper images. However my wife likes the Sony because of the compact lens available and lightweight. She thinks it's more practical. However I don't want to miss out on the best pictures. On CZcams, I see that the image comes out very clear, but when I look at the LCD screen in the store or the viewfinder it does not come out as spectacular as the actual CZcams videos. What do you think, what is your recommendation?
Canon fanboy here.
That Nikon is a good camera. A really really good camera.
Great Stuff! Thank you Kai!
I have a mint 80-200 D. Screw focus which seems exactly how Nikon felt about supporting D series lenses.
On my D5 I have D25 AF-C with back button focus. I'm so used to back button focus that I sure hope the Z7 can compare. The fastest focusing lens on the D5 is the 70-200E or VRIII. Anyways my 200-500 is not that fast, so I wouldn't be using it to test focusing speed
If I bought Z6 a few days ago and I saw stuck pixel on the LCD screen.. what should I do?
Are there any updates on how firmware can improve the autofocus? Seems like a pretty old fashioned thing for a camera to fall flat on at this price point.
Yo Kai. It'd be super dope if you started up a website and kept some lists of gear recommendations. Kinda like dpreviews list of recommendations based on use case or price range
I have a Nikon d700 and I kinda wanna get a z6 I also have a canon SL2 and I wanna get a canon Eos R but I also love the a7iii, should I just get them all XD
I shoot with a nikon d500 and d850 and bought one of my photographers a sony a7r3 which i was nervous about and i really warry about the nikon digitals.. im a diehard nikon man but i would definitely go for the sony a73 which is basically the same as our a7r3 the auto focus on the sonys is fast and accurate.
Hey Kai, Tony Northrup stated in so many words that the AF in video on the Z6 is horrible. What is your opinion? Secondly, is the AF on the Z7 just as bad?
I think you don`t have to be a Nikon user to get interested in the Z6 or Z7 because of the new lens mount you`ve to start with a complete new system no matter which brand your using so far.
I`m a Nikon user, so if I want to upgrade I would go for the Nikon D5 instead.
which camera is better for low light photography?
This camera out shoots my D4 with frame rate and autofocus accuracy.
great review! very enjoyable. So Adobe DNG converter couldn't convert them? Latest version works fine with the Canon EOS R. I hope to see you review the Panasonic Full frame models when they become available!
Nope, not yet, unfortunately. I hope so, too!
Great review man
Kai, can you do a review about cool looking camera bags from small to large?
Honestly I feel Nikon did good with this entry into mirrorless and it is a strong contender for the mirrorless market. The eos r just doesn’t make sense with the current market. However canon did come out with much better glass, which is the most important factor when considering a system in my opinion
Honestly Canon would have killed it if they didn't neuter the video portion of the camera. Insane crop on 4k is just not ok this day and age.
That Adorama page for the Body Only doesn't exist :-(
i live for your vids kai
Hello there, what do you think about eoshd for the sony cameras?
I need to know what glasses those are at 2:18 this is very important, plz hlep
What’s with the jelly stabilization in some shots? Digital IS?
So here's something.. If you're stepping into a pro level system while mirrorless being regarded as the future of photography, would you go for the Sony A7[fill in the blank] or an older DSLR system while Nikon and Canon catch up? Invest in old, proven tech with Canon or Nikon? Or jump into Sony which already has a mature mirrorless system? The nature of photography requires some sort of brand loyalty in that it makes the most sense to invest in one system. At first i thought this was a great time to be shopping but the more i over think it, the more i see that it's a terrible time to make a large investment in photography gear. Ahh!! I want to like Nikon mirrorless but i can see its just not for me.. Need something reliable for fast action sports. Just like the A7 and A7II were not the best at anything, I'm expecting the same to be the case with the first Nikon and Canon mirrorless systems.
I agree. I personally would invest in the cheapest system that suits my needs atm. That for me is the A7iii for hybrid shooting. I do weddings and family shoots and some short films and it's been my work horse. For everyday walk around shooting I love the fuji system.
I Do think canon and nikon will catch up to the A7iii on their second release but I know Sony will put out something to stay in the lead
Just get what you like... every newish camera would do what you want
Same problem here. Looking to build up my own kit after years of using my former employer's Canon gear. Was all set on Sony until I saw the price of native FE mount lenses.
@@verselines One very important thing that many don't discuss about future proofing. Those big Canon and Nikon lens mount are going to provide in the long run some better lens. Already the Nikon S 35 f 1.8 and 24-70 F4 lens are providing some exceptional result in sharpness, aberration, vignette etc
Nikon doesn't have a working raw converter for its cameras?
Wow, didn't expect it to match the A3 in noise performance
So many new cameras. So many choices.
That rectal sticker killed me XD
kai what do you think about computational photography? check out pixel 3 camera
Hi sir
I have Nikon Z6 and I'm using 50mm 1.8G with FTZ. While shooting with 1.8 aperture there is slightly blur but with 2.8 aperture fine and getting sharp images. what is problem in it? Will you please help me for it?
TIA
Just bought a used d610 and I'm already looking to sell it and pick up a z6. Would love that video functionality and i hate that I can't properly adapt vintage lenses on the f mount
The z6 is fantastic!
Love the camara
Like the sunglasses 😎
I’m so torn between this and the Fuji xt3
Z6 Body only link isn't working!
D500 or Z6 ? Which to buy
the z6-7 I'm sure are nice but nikon made some odd choices like the Z7 cost near enough the D850 yet only one memory chip place on the Z7. I think I will wait for the next generation.By then they will have more lenses two memory slots hopefully perhaps even a better sensor.
Would love to see a re-review with Firmware 3.0!
man. I really want this camera, but at the same time. I still want a d750 replacement that's not the 850. Gonna have to wait until next year to see what Nikon releases.
If you don’t have any Nikon lenses, which would you go for? The Z6 or the a7 iii?
You should really try the cameras out; I have both Nikon and Sony, and while I love the video the Sony takes (a6500) I can't stand the feel and the controls for photos, the Nikon (610, 750) is far superior
I have the A7iii and it’s autofocus is good . I really enjoy having the eye AF , but man it does feel like crap in the hand and its buttons are small . If the Z6 had a better Af system I would have that instead . In the end it doesn’t matter just use whatever works for you .
Kai i been testing the Z6 with the 24-70 F4 kit lens and works really good, also with the adapter i tested the 70-200 FL works as good as my D750, the 24-70 2.8 good as well, the 50mm 1.8 good as well and the 105mm 2.8 which i have problems when i activate the VR is too shaky but i turn it off and works good, dont know why you said that F lesnes are slow.
Nikon has a photo recovery tool that they haven't released yet?
Jeez, how many focus points does a camera need. I remember when 9 point AF was something fancy.
It looks to me like you had the Z7 in AF Single and the Z6 in AF Continuous ;)
z6 body only link not work.
That's me, from the block.. I guess?
You're beautiful ^^
@@cripplingdebt224 errr... *Typing beautiful definition* ... No
My futur camera.... well maybe the version 2 !
Would the 35 , 50 , 85 G F1.8 lenses work well with FTZ adapter on Z6 ?
They work as well as on a DSLR but the Z mount native lenses are fantastic. I use my 85 1.8G almost daily and it works well. The Z mount 50mm 1.8 S is the sharpest lens of any make I have ever used so unless someone already has the 50mm 1.8G, they should get the Z mount version.
The flamingos have number-plates on their legs at 9:25 .

What model is that monopod? Looks super cool

@@PAULJOHNBAYFIELD thank you
I think a7iii with canon lens would be a interesting comparison with z6 and f-mount.
Is there a DX mirrorless system coming out soon?
I agree with the natural guest! The 3D-Tracking was a blessing.
(as an M-glas on SL user, sometimes longing back).
...the censurated Lynx´s butt :) nice touch!
where in the uk is this?
minimum focus when you shot the sony... i think?
Where can i get a lens for rectal use only?
What was the tripod used?
I think there are some dust on the sensor in the camera with which you are shooting the vlog
The real question is not Z6 or Z7, but rather Z6 or D850, since they are in the same price class. Is the Z6 good enough to pull the DSLR shooters to mirrorless?
tHaH4x0r their back will once they passed their 50s, believe me :D
Does the Z6 have a large range of lenses that don't need a mount ?
They are building the Z series
i want that z6 because now im currently using d750..but im afraid that if im using the ftz adapter the autofocus speed would be an issue..should i get the z6 with 1 slot and expensive xqd card :| or totally change to sony a7iii ..hmmm
Apparently the focus speeds are pretty much the same with the adapter
