    I really think you and most people online are misunderstanding what Gerald undone says about the dynamic range of this camera. RAW codecs are always going to be noisier than compressed ones, the reason other manufacturers are getting better numbers is because they're applying in camera NR then compressing that further. Gerald said himself with a little bit of NR in post the Z6iii falls in line with other similar mirrorless cameras

    • @bamboojled8919
      @bamboojled8919 Před 19 dny +1

      Exactly!!! Anyone referring to the dynamic range (that doesn't under the basics that RAW codecs are going to be noisier because they are RAW and don't have noise reduction baked-in), should not be commenting on it.

      It's not real what he said. He was trying to be nice before you guys came after him. He mentioned that with NR in post, you can achieve around 11.5 to 12 stops. This is lower than Sony and Panasonic and almost 2 stops lower than the Fuji XH2s. He also suggested that it would be great for Nikon to introduce an updated log profile to further enhance the dynamic range of Z6III." So, for now, the dynamic range in Z6III kind of sucks.

    The last time I checked file sizes, NRAW is similar to BRAW which is similar to ProRes 4:2:2 HQ in terms of bit rates. Now ProRes RAW has crazy big files. That’s a very different situation. As far as the cost of cards, a 512GB CFExpress card runs about $130 these days, but try buying a v90 SD card of the same size. Those are north of $500. CFExpress has become very affordable.

    Can you explain which lenses you mis from the Nikon Z mount? Are you are expecting that Nikon full open their mount as Sony did, simply because when they began mirrorless the didn’t have lenses? Please explain which focal length and aperture you mis?
    What I see is that you expect Viltrox, Samyang/ Rokinon, Tamron and Sigma release all their lenses in the Z mount. The issue is that many of this manufacturers does not see place in the Z mount.
    The only lenses I can think are f1.4 primes and 70 - 200 f4.0. The Tamron, Viltrox and Sigma are simply complementing Nikon.

    • @kylemeshna
      @kylemeshna  Před 21 dnem +3

      I’d very much like a 16-35 f2.8, a 35 f/1.4, and more compact lenses in general. I also really love Sony’s newer compact G zooms
      And Sony opening their mount makes the selection much more robust and affordable, which is what attracts a lot of people to the system.
      Again, optically the Nikon glass is incredible, and they’ve expanded the offering very nicely in recent years. But they’re still behind Sony (which is understandable because they got a head start)

    • @kjltube
      @kjltube Před 20 dny

      The 35mm f1.4 should come out this week.

Nikon has talked a good game about opening up their lens mount to 3rd parties but the jury is still out on that. All that said, I'm excited to Nikon making strides with their camera tech and I hope the z6III is a big success so there's more chance of Nikon being a system I return to. The low dynamic range HAS been debunked... by Gerold Undone himself in that very same video... in RAW, the camera shows less dynamic range to cameras that don't have RAW, however, that is because the Raw files do not have any baked-in noise reduction, and once you add the same level of noise reduction that the competition has baked in the non-RAW files, the Nikon is equivalent and in some cases better.
      Again, Gerold Undone explains this perfectly, and shows the proof, but it is easier to be lazy and just parrot one part of his comments without taking into account everything else he said about it right after.

    You keep on saying behind Sony do you even remember when we adopted Canon and Nikon Mount lenses on Sony
    Crappy Sony colors , crappy back non touch screen , color shifting pics and evf, half baked image stabilization, 8bit cropped video with no lock in focus and worse ergonomic.
    First you need to stop being Fan boy when reviewing products
    1: Nikon has one of The largest lens Collection 1950 onwards F Mount lenses even when you remove Ai versions and much more affordable than Sony’s
    There is a reason people use Nikon for wildlife and Sony users adopt Nikon F Mount bird/ airplane photography lenses do you know WHY because Sony is missing crucial lenses dahhh.
    Vibration control and Image stability is the best in Nikon neither Canon nor Sony even come close I bet you didn’t rest that by sitting on the desk.
    Nikon has far better autofocus in video recording plus has been class leading in video mode since launching mirrorless cameras.
    Ergonomic are not subjective Nikon and Canon Cameras are the best period Sony doesn’t even come close.
    Touch to focus and touch class leading in Nikon
    Weather sealing class leading in Nikon
    Well layed out buttons that all old generations owners can relate to plus customizable.
    Ohhh let me tell how about you buy a Nikon 17-35 2.8 that Sony users use to adapt or 17-55 2.8 or the 16-80 2.8-4 orrrr the 16-35 F4 F Mount that is if you can’t afford the legendary 14-24 2.8 or the 14-30 F4 Z Mount personally I’d take 20mm 1.8 any day or the 16mm Viltrox 1.8 or 20mm 1.8 for $250 and move my legs if I crave this range
    So may I say what the H**l are you talking about! 😂 I guess I’m a Nikon fanboy lol did I forget that Nikon color contrast 3D pop you can’t get it on Sony yeah you can sit for an hr to fix in post if your time is not meaningful to you.
    Plzzzz I know you put a lot of work into creating video YT content better be non biased.

    Why are Nikon shooters so sensitive and quick to bully anyone who says something negative about Nikon cameras? You all need to relax. It's great that Nikon is finally catching up, but once Sony and Canon announce their new lineups, Nikon will likely fall behind again. I know I will be getting Z6III just to be able to shoot 6k60 RAW initially like my Black Magic. Other than that, this camera has nothing to offer; other cameras have not been doing for years now.

    I don't have to even watch the Video to tell everyone why this is a very IMPORTANT camera for Nikon. All their Cropped sensor cameras are becoming severely outdated by comparison to the competition. I highly doubt the Z9 is currently having big sales due to the success of the Nikon Z8. But even on Sale, The Z8 it's rarely a Best Seller and or Top Seller anymore. Doubts are that Nikon will even Replace the Z7ii. So with the year almost Half over, what the sales of the Nikon Z6iii becomes or NOT could indeed be the most Important Camera for Nikon, Right Now. What else does anything think they will do this YEAR.

    Nikon fills a market segment where previous models were not competitive against the competition. But is it too late?
    In recent years, many photographers and photo enthusiasts have chosen to abandon the brand in favor of Sony, Canon, and Fuji. It's evident that since the production of mirrorless cameras began, Nikon has fallen behind.
    The new Nikon Z6 III seems to be an excellent camera on paper.
    Personally, I've always used Nikon, with their extraordinary DSLRs. I've also worked with the Nikon Z6 II professionally, but I found it unreliable for eye detection autofocus, etc. Consequently, I switched to Sony and, staying in the same segment, I find the Sony 7 IV exceptional. Moreover, Sony's lens lineup is very extensive. Despite Nikon's high-quality build, viewfinder, and display, I won't go back.
    I think too much importance is given to technology. Personally, what I look for in a professional camera is reliable autofocus, quality, and feel. With Sony, for years, I've been able to get what I had with Nikon DSLRs.
    I still hope that Nikon achieves the success it deserves with this new camera, but I think the competition is very fierce and that it's difficult for those who have switched to other brands to decide to go back, especially for economic reasons.
