    I personally believe it's the first time that we see the word Syria as opposed to Israel but a great translation nonetheless.

      Yes, I agree with that. I could also refer to Syria

    I think I saw this stela in the museum, have you ever translated the papyrus of Hunefer?

    • @EgyptologyLessons
      @EgyptologyLessons  Před rokem

      Yes I have but I’ve not done a video about it but you can find lots of material sources that I’ve already translated it… The book of the dead Ani, which is much larger, has a lot of the same spells. Check out my 37 video book of the dead of Ani translation papyrus.

    I have no background in hieroglyphics......but as a layperson....when he said something about that the king removed the bronze from their necks(where you say "I am not familiar with that phrase") ....I thought of releasing slaves....i am sure I have seen somewhere depicting slaves shackled by a cuff around the neck and chained to others harnessed the same way. So my interpretation is the king captured the slaves of their enemy and took off those "bronze" neck cuffs. Just my thoughts though.

      It’s possible, I could also refer to an expression which is tied to the mythology and traditions. It could be an idiom that we are not familiar with

      @@EgyptologyLessons Thank you for replying. Now I want to know how slaves could function with cuffs around their necks.....always more curiosities to investigate!

    Why are Canaan and Israel mentioned separately just a few lines apart from each other? Is Canaan being mentioned as a place and Isreal as a people?

    is there a place where we can ask you questions ? i mean to show you pictures about a subject etc... like instagram/facebook/or telegram . i want to show you hieroglyphs talking about "yhw nu" , i dont know how to write it in english, they say it's the primitive sky god, i could show you the picture of hieroglyphs, i want to know what you could tell us about that primitive sky god. i think in some dictionaries they say "Aau Nu", sometimes they even associates that god with the "shasu", a nomadic people, and sometimes they prefer to associate that god with hebrews saying it's the original name of Yhwh.

    You mention
    Askekon, Cannon, Israelites or Israel - do you agree it said Israel cause a lot of Egyptologists disagree?

    • @EgyptologyLessons
      @EgyptologyLessons  Před 5 měsíci +1

      I don’t agree with it, it just sounds like a close approximation to Israel, and we have no other reference or sources to rely on to corroborate

      @@EgyptologyLessonsIt was a few years ago, but I came to the conclusion that it was the Jezreel valley. Firstly because the sentence makes sense in the context of the trampled seeds and secondly because of the order.
      One could argue that we don't know what the valley was called back then. I would argue that the stele proves it. Another objection is that we can only vaguely prove the connection between the deity El and the cultivation of vines.
