They didn't nor did I as I did not have the spare cash otherwise I would have bought in airbnb etc. What did buffet say - I forget the oracle of Omaha's famous saying...

Thanks Louis. 2 issues for me is Raymond Ackerman. The second is the move from PnP to have more Quali PnPs. Simply put the strategy is to compete with Shoprite and buy over most of the so called local shopping centres and branding them Quali PnP. I see this in many pnp stores in CPT. Service quality is not what it use to be. Have you ever seen PnP stores having some major alterations in the last 2 years? I haven't but I did see this with Checkers and Woolworths. That tells me that they value customers more than PnP.

Will sell out when things are looking too positive and I will start looking for the next ‘dead company’. It’s a strategy that’s worked for me multiple times. Time will tell

Hi. Thank you for your video. Pick n pay is a good company to buy now if you have a 3 year horizon. Dam rite Louis. I live near 2 pnps and 2 checkers. PnP is like a spaza shop and always dead. as for Checkers, it just buzzing. PnP prices are just not right and they think re branding will work but it never will with all that fancy jargon. Checkers is murdering them and pnp is just too dumb to see the light. Enjoyed that. In my situation, before I left London I dropped 6000 quid on Tesla when it was sitting at 206 quid a share, then I bought another 4000 quid on solarcity (elon's brothers company that elon and tesla ended up buying bringing my tesla shares to 94 tesla shares - lucky move at the time.) Made a bit of cash, not much, but I got lucky. After taxes etc I still made a small bit of profit before they diluted the Tesla share price. Incidentally in 2013 FB IPO'ed at $36/$38 per share, dropped a week later to $18 a share, I should have bought a few in FB in hindsight. I have since sold all my teslas shares a few years ago because I required cash liquidity at the time.

Oh, I would say be careful of AI company investments. Let me give you and your viewers an example. When the gold rushes happened with Africa and the 49'er's gold rush in the states, the ones that sold the gold pans, dynamite, picks and shovels made a great return more than the individual miners. Same concept still applies. Nvidia and other GPU processing chip power producers are the gold pan peddlers in a similar respect. Again, it is just my gut feel.

My opinion, PnP is a good buy (I recon their share price will go up in the next two years, but that is just my opinion) as they will catch up on the 60/60 home delivery over woolworths and spar. Spar, PNP and Woolworths quality of their fresh produce foods are dropping. A good mate of mine is responsible for daily visits to one of them and his job is to spot visit and check the fresh produce quality. Spar is by far the worst and PNP is a close second. Checkers are brilliant on quality.

I read today that checkers just opened 3 or more locations in one day...makes me think all the others are going to takes a few years to catch up. Either an opportunity to buy PNP on the low - who knows. I do feel they will catch up and Checkers will over capitilise draining their cash flow. Same happened with subway etc. They got too cocky and smashed out on locations opening up. You will see the same with those dollar stores in the US. There is this one guy that I think CNBC or business Insider do a segment on. I found it incredibly interesting. This guy opens up a take away place, but grows and focuses on his product and customer satisfaction. He only has like 50 outlets and does one thing and it it the tastiest in the sector. Gives shares in the company to his staff etc. it was just chicken wings. Simple.

@@MoreThanRuan I totally agree, I just feel and seen in various sectors, some companies suddenly pivot, checkers got lucky with the help of COVID, right timing and nailing the concept and market adoption of the 60/60 app and delivery implementation.
