This movie was probably the first that I noticed a strong female presence who loved education. It makes me realize how positively it affected me to watch. It’s something I will be showing my kids and to continue my love of reading and learning ♥️
Matilda actually inspired me to start reading huge books back when I was a kid.. *inserts that scene where she's pulling her cart wheel with dozens of books in it* .. _OLD BUT GOLD_
Same she was terrifying I had nightmares about her especially nightmares about the scene where Matilda and Ms. Honey break into her house, the pressure passed between the screen and well you know the fear gets you.

It's so rare to find a former child star that made so few movies, while having such a huge impact, and also avoided their life totally spiraling. Mara seems like such a well-adjusted, intelligent young woman.
I was very surprised to find out her mother passed away during the filming of this movie and she bravely finished the film in her mother’s memory. So brave!

I feel like a lot of directors try to treat children like mini-adults so it's nice to hear that Danny Devito made everyone on set dance to make Mara feel more comfortable with the scene and to allow her to have fun with it.
Out of *ALL* REACT's "Making you feel *OLD* Challenge" .. *NONE* is in comparison to *GROWN UP* Mara Wilson. Mara is making me FEEL *REALLY OLD* right now.
