Love the Martells in the books and am excited to dive into this army! I think the part of this that really feels very on brand is early on when it seems like an absolutely certainty that the commander unit was going to go down. So much so that Curtis was effectively moving on with Wun Wun and then suddenly it's back up to full ranks, dishing out pain and locking up 2 key units. A few rolls go a different way or some different plays and this game ends very differently.
Martells tactics cards and NCU are indeed OP but you still need to play strategically on the combat field with them to win. Anyway FF and Mance are OP in their own ways, should use Martells against other non OP factions to see how they fair against them.
This was a joy to watch. For a match-up against what is arguably the most overpowered commander, and the biggest negative play experience, the Martells did really well. Not a lot of things would need to go just slightly less wrong, and they might actually have come out on top. I really like their shenanigans. My only true concern is if they're fun to play against. I could see their control and denial getting frustrating for an opponent really fast. :P
Saw Miniacs video on this game recently and now I'm in a rabbit hole cause his enthusiasm on it. No one plays in my area but now looking to try start something
No ETA at the moment, but we're working on them! We finished up another gaming VOD to release and have a couple of painting VODs in the hopper ready to go.
in round 2 Scott "passed with Tyene" during his turn and it became Curtis' turn. Didn't a rules update say NCUs must claim a zone if available in order to activate?
Pretty sure they’ve had the Martells for less than a week. And it takes awhile to paint a full army. Hopefully we some of Martells painted soon. No excuse for Curtis though. Classic FF player, intimidated by his own horde 😘

No. NCUs may not activate if the board is full.
How are they getting turns and rounds so badly mixed together. Even made art of it
