    I've had my Magnify 3's for YEARS and Holy fuck do I love them. I ran in them for over a year, and then transitioned them to my work shoes (carpenter) and they have been my favorite shoe I may have ever owned. Ever. Comfortable, simple, durable, and a great value. I've used more Hokas/Asics because of the cushioning on longer runs, which is the only real drawback to the Topos. But even having said that, I still absolutely LOVE my Magnify's. Can't beat the zero drop and wide toebox! Considering getting another pair for lifting?

    I’ve got over 500 trouble free miles on my M4’s so I’m happy to hear I can replace them with the M5’s😁 I’ve found them very comfortable, even on long runs.

      That's great feedback my friend!

    the comparison to the Altra Torin 7 is a bit off. It compares very well with the Altra Escalante. They are much closer in specs.

    Looks like the escalante. Cyclone 2 with the pebax midsole. Difficult to pass on that.

      I do want to try the Cyclone 2, which looks like a very fun shoe to run in! There's a good chance that I'll be able to get my feet in a pair of the Topo Specter 2 (coming in August 2024) which is a non-plated full Pebax midsole made for slightly longer runs compared to the Cyclone 2.

      @@SeeChadRun yeah I saw the spectre 2 release date. Looks good. Cyclone 2 for the long haul. 👌

    How would you describe the arch support in this Topo?

    • @SeeChadRun
      @SeeChadRun  Před 5 měsíci +2

      I'm glad you asked. That was something I forgot to mention in the video. I would describe the arch support as noticed but not too pronounced. It has more than most shoes but I've definitely run in shoes with more arch support (for example, Skechers and Solomon have more arch support). Thanks for watching!

    How do you like the Solomon vest? Is there an advantage to running with the water weight in the front vs being in a bladder on your back?

    • @SeeChadRun
      @SeeChadRun  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Thanks for checking out the video and for the comment! I love my Salomon ADV SKIN 5 Vest. I did a review video of it which I'll link here if you want to check that out. I've run with packs where the water is in the front (Salomon, Black Diamond, Ultimate Direction) and the back (Nathan) and have various reviews on the channel for these packs. I like having the water in the front because it's more convenient to fill up and it allows me to put weight in the back of the pack with whatever other items I'm carrying, so in my opinion it helps balance the pack out. Of course, one advantage of having the bladder in the back is that you can carry a lot more water but nearly every pack that has the flasks on the front has the option to carry a bladder in the back. Here's my Solomon review but definitely check out my other pack reviews too: czcams.com/video/jCah4hNaCF0/video.html

      I can vouch for my long-lived/loved Salomon Adv skin 12, which I have had for 7 years and I still use regularly! I've run with water in the front or the back and both at the same time! The hydration bladder (on your back) is a pain to clean with all the parts (especially the tubing) so I only use it for water, but it holds 1.5L. Using the two hydration bladders (on your chest) are easy to clean, so I tend to use electrolytes in them, but they are 500ml each and not good for really long/hot days.
      They are both quite comfortable and don't interfere with your running and are infinitely better than a handheld or waist belt bottle. You hardly notice the weight because it is held against your chest/back. In short, I would recommend having both, especially when you runs exceed 15-20 miles or its very hot.
      I know some people who will fill the hydration bladder with ice on hot days to keep them cooler and drink the water as it melts.

    What if you could only afford one pair of road running shoes? What would you get?

    • @SeeChadRun
      @SeeChadRun  Před 4 měsíci

      Right now, I would buy the Puma Velocity Nitro 3 ($140 US). The Craft Pacer is also nice ($135 US). I'm also excited to try the Topo Specter 2 (full Pebax midsole) which is expected to be released later this summer.
