    In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens czcams.com/users/postUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.

    You see those black lines after you hit the bottom? Are those supposed to be normal? I’m new to Lowrance. I also have a Garmin GT56 transducer but those black lines don’t showed on my gt56. It really doesn’t affect my picture on the 3/1 but I was just wondering if I’m doing something wrong.

      Definitely in 455 always. That’s the most important thing. TVG 0-1. Range wide out until you see the darkness appear on the outer edges, then bring it back in one click. Bring it in 2-3 clicks if you want slightly better detail. 👍👍

      @Performancemarineaz Před 4 lety

      Mike Smedley do you mount the active imager to the jack plate? I’m getting ready to plan out the transom on the shop boat and to demo it I’m going to have an AI, SS 3D, a standard skimmer, and the Airmar High Wide. I think I’m going to do the 3D and AI on the jack plate, the HW on the starboard side and the skimmer on the port. Could you post a video on your multi transducer install? Thanks!

    • @MikeSmedleyOLDSCHOOLSTRIPERS
      @MikeSmedleyOLDSCHOOLSTRIPERS  Před 4 lety

      Performance Marine AZ I would not mount to the jackplate. The transducer will come completely out of the water at 10mph or less in some situations. That’s no good. We mark fish at plane speeds. I have had as many as 6 transom mount transducers on at once for testing so it can be done. This is an older video but you can see some of the transducers I had at the time.

I do see CH1 and CH2... but hell, no matter what I do, I cant get them to work. down scan kinda works when we are at the dock but as soon as I leave the dock and head out its just black with a blue bar at the top. The side scan is completely black shows nothing. Any suggestions?

    • @MikeSmedleyOLDSCHOOLSTRIPERS
      @MikeSmedleyOLDSCHOOLSTRIPERS  Před 2 lety

      The channel selections are just for traditional sonar. They aren’t for side or down scan. On the side scan page go into the menu and look for source. You might have the wrong source selected. If the side scan transducer is connected to the left screen select THIS UNIT only on the left screen. If you want to use it on the right screen select the other screen in source, just don’t select THIS UNIT on the right one if the transducer is not plugged into it. If you’re losing bottom when you leave the dock check your range. Set it to auto or set it deeper than the water you’re in at first.
