Yeahhhh, Jack has a near perfect playthrough compared to most on the internet and yet he still ended up spoiled for most of it
Undertale is an amazing game but the fandom shoots itself in the foot by spoiling everything about the game to anyone who even thinks of touching the game

(or book, or movie, or series) its why i completely locked myself off the internet entirely recently while i was playing omori for the first time, because i knew that somewhere, at some point, i was going to get spoiled. because no matter what you say about no spoilers, and no matter how many people respect it, theres always going to be that one person that fucks it up for everyone else.
this isnt an undertale problem. its a people problem.

Healing items:
3 snowman pieces
1 butts pie
1 instant noodles
1 steak in the shape of mettatons face
2 legendary heroes
Weapon: frying pan (because it gives heals you 4 more hp when consuming items)
Armor: locket

Sans gave up trying due to depression, the resets made it worse and his only safe space is Papyrus. If you spare Papyrus and kill everyone else he won’t attack you.

Earlier a trap set by papyrus says- you will be so distracted eating the spaghetti that you wont notice you arent progressing - funny how the same rule applies for sans with heals I think it's probably connected

Sans, Undyne the undying and Asgore you only progress if you are fighting, Undyne on pacifist tou need to flee, Toriel you have to spam Spare or always miss your attacks, Mettaton you need to raise the ratings (even if some Items help with raising them). It's only Papyrus (ironically), Muffet and Asriel which the fight progresses while using items.
People call sans lazy but he’s the only monster in the underground that can move two fucking steps to dodge an attack 😂

I like how in the fandom, people portray sans as teleporting when he dodges your attacks, but in the game its just him casually scootching to the left XD
People say he teleports because of his "shortcuts"
I would go with time acceleration. He has a quantum physics lab, so that establishes that quantum physics exists in this universe, meaning that space and time are the same, so if Sans can teleport, which implies bending space, then he can also bend time. We see him do this for offensive purposes in the fight by taking the player's immunity frames away (speeding up time so that they end instantly), so why wouldn't he use the power defensively (slowing down time during the player's attack to give him time to dodge).

Just got it a week ago. Undyne the undying is stonewalling me
I ignored the game at the time it was popular because of the fans that were apparently really bad and ignored it as much as possible
And now that deltarune is popular again I kinda wanna know what all the hype was, and now I really understand why it was so popular

I love the story behind Sans and his cocky attitude. Despite knowing he can't defeat you, his goal is to hold you off long enough to save everyone. He's aware that your determination surpasses his by a huge margin, and he's confident in your ability to save and come back whenever you want. While he keeps up his cocky demeanor, it's almost as if he's trying to convince himself that he can defeat you, but deep down, he knows you'll always come back. It's an intriguing aspect of the game's narrative that adds to the complexity of Sans and I doubt it can ever be replicated.
it's also so he makes the player rage quit and never come back again, that's his only hope after all
I actually would like the idea that on some level, he's just trying to provide the greatest challenge to the player's abilities possible. Because he knows that because the player has determination, they'll keep attempting anything, "just to see if you can", in his own words. So on some level perhaps he hopes that if the player defeats him, they'll be satisfied, and then reset before destroying the world (which many players who already know about what finishing the route does to your save file will do!) - but also he knows that just giving up immediately would not satisfy the player, so he has to fight as hard as possible.
He is also not giving his best in the fight, because like you said he knows everything would reset so there's no point. I think he mentioned that while fighting correct me if I'm wrong
@@Sarah-md2cz I do think he's giving it his all. He's the most powerful in undertale compared to other monsters except Flowey but we will get to that later. He's something no one has ever seen and I believe he soughts himself out as the unknown protector of the underground. It's just that Frisk is different. Frisk is more powerful because of the determination to beat him, or rather the player to beat the game. She has the ablilty to save and reload, Sans is giving his all, and the longer it takes for you to beat him the more frustrated the player gets, and Sans is hoping that you quit.
One thing I noticed is that Sans, while being a mortal being, hasnt had enough time to get to his potential. Keep in mind, Flowey is much more powerful in my opinion. Flowey also has the ability to save and load just like Frisk. However Sans knew something happened, he remembers these saves, he's the only one except Flowey. However he doesn't understand it fully I think. He just has a general concept of it. Flowey however knows of it, and as well uses it to his gain when he can.
Another thing is that once again Sans isn't experienced. He has never had a reason to fight, if he even ever fought in the first place. He knows he has abilities but everyone has a limit unless they train. He's carefree and tries to be kind and even in the fight he mentions that he doesnt want to do this. Thats a weakness in him, Sans is only doing it to stop you and maybe make you change your ways but in the end we don't. Sans dies because he was too kind and naive to think we would ever stop.
Sans' fight is so different from every other one. He's the only one with poison damage, the only one who can dodge, and it;s subjectively the hardest fight in the game.
Because Sans fight is a punishment. Toby never told you to take the Genocide route. Your doing it because you can. The Genocide route makes it painfully clear your an awful person. That you kill innocents just because you can, and San's fight nails in the coffin, literally. After killing all your friends with ease, Sans' fight is one of the only hard fights in the game.
He talks about how you should stop what your doing, how he needs you to stop what your doing. He can't let you through, because he knows what will happen if he does. Asgore, and maybe the rest of the human race, will perish. The hours of fighting, of dying, of hearing Sans say the beautiful day quote EVERY SINGLE TIME, it's all a consequence of your actions. this is your fault.
And that's what Undertale, in my opinion, is about. Consequences. You make the choice to spare, to kill, to change or save the world. It's the cruel genius of sans' fight that makes e love Undertale.

I was like that too until after like a year of played in every single way i decide to finally kill everyone, and i did it. Took 30 minutes to kill undyne and some good hours to kill sans.

I'm just grateful that the fanbase has evolved enough that Sean and other CZcamsrs are seen as real people with lives outside of CZcams. It kinda bummed me out to hear how much flack he got for not returning to the play through over Christmas.
Of course this stuff still happens, but I'm very glad things are overall a bit better now. 😊
one of my favorite parts of sans is that a lot of his attacks are just papyrus's but beefed and sped up.

@@apricotbuncakes I can see Sans teaching Papyrus the blue bones and the blue soul, but I don't see Sans teaching him anything else given how lazy he is and how Papyrus doesn't really seem to think Sans is strong. He probably learned how to fight with Undyne, and Sans might use his attacks on this fight in a way to honor his brother.

Huh, that could very well be it. I always thought that Toriel buried them in the place where Frisk fell down, in that patch of golden flowers. They WERE Chara's favorite, after all, so it makes sense that Toriel would want to put them to rest underneath a patch of them. Either way, it's never been confirmed the exact location where Chara was buried, just that Toriel took them to the Ruins.

They actually do effect his battle although very little, instead of taking 1 damage every millisecond you have damage every 2 milliseconds
um. the cloudy glasses and torn notebook are actually effective in the sans fight. apart, they don't do much. together, they give you enough inv that you can survive the first attack without moving. still not much inv, but it does help. the only other possibly useful equipment in that fight is the apron and pan, and it's generally agreed that the glasses and notebook are better.

Fun fact, he does actually only do 1 damage. But all his attacks are muilt hitting. For the unenlightened, evey MILI secons you spend colliding with his attacks is 1 damage plus poison.
I known no one cares but like. I still think this is the 2nd best game in history. Only subnautica beats this for me. Such a perfectly crafted game. Even if some choices were... extreme well done Toby. One of the easiest 10 out of 10 games ive ever played

Why does everyone think chara is the bad guy. They’re basically a ghost following you around and is why it’s never in a first person perspective when you read stuff. Theyre only bad in the genocide because you made them that way. And when Adriel says that he should’ve laughed off making his dad sick on accident like chara did, they only laughed it off to cope. Deep down they felt terrible about it. And, they have a picture of they’re family next to they’re bed, drew and hung out with Asriel all the time. They really loved it. They even sacrificed their own life for their family and for the sake of the monsters. How does that sound evil to you?
Chara is as good or evil as the player makes them. That said... Asriel does say that they weren't a very good person, and we know that they like REALLY hate humans, like worse than Undyne. That's why Chara won't let you go back and forces you to erase at the end of Geno: what was the point of killing all the monsters, who are more or less OK, if you're not going to wipe out reality and kill all the humans, who are awful? It's not entirely clear how bad "humans" in general actually are; we know they're bad enough to start the war and force monsters underground out of fear, and bad enough to attack Asriel on sight when he had Chara's soul (although he was also literally carrying their body, to be fair), which makes humans sound about as bad as they are in real life to me.
The other piece of this that doesn't get talked about enough is that Chara is *thoroughly* traumatized. They are literally just a child, and it's heavily implied that they climbed Mt. Ebott because they were trying to self-unalive (knowing that nobody comes back from there). Add that to their hatred of humans, and you have a picture of a child who was shown nothing but cruelty by the human world. The monsters were nice, but not enough to make the depression go away - mere kindness is almost never enough, sadly, and Toby is so real for depicting that. Then they proceed to die in whatever crazy plan they concocted with Asriel, and get left behind as some kind of determination spirit. Once Frisk arrives in the underground, they are somehow absorbed into Frisk's soul, and now the player decides their fate: murder and genocide show Chara that their evaluation of humans is correct, and the world must be obliterated so that there will be no one left to hurt them.
Chara is an immensely tragic evil, entirely created by the harms of other people, but an evil nonetheless. The player can save them in some aspect, and thereby save the world, but it was still Chara's hand that rent the universe apart at the end of genocide.

if you haven't got him already pre-recorded, the best set of food you can have for sans' fight is the instant noodles(all health), B-scotch pie(all health) then six mettaton steaks(64 each). since you have 3.8K and the six steaks cost 3K you'll have just enough.
