  • God speaks to us in so many ways, and he gives us grace upon grace in the ordinary events of each day. But very often we don't hear him! This talk explores how we can be more open to his presence, and gives some examples of how God can touch our lives.
If you want to learn about the EXAMEN - a way of reflecting on your day and discerning how God is speaking to you through the day - see this special video here:

God has come down to us. We don't have to go up to Him.

Thank you father, this was really beautiful and helpful. I recognise the experience you describe of a saint speaking directly to you by reading their books, I had it in Castle of the soul of Teresa from Avila. She described her experience with tinnitus, a problem I also have. She gave advices how to deal with it and literally wrote: 'I tell you this becaus maybe you suffer from the same problem en then you know how to deal with it'. That struck me, it was really like she was talking to me personally, an amazing experience.

I have found comfort and joy, support and inspiration in your talks in the past year, beyond words. I am a nurse, mother, wife, daughter, and have had loss related to COVID 19, patients struggling, my children struggle with studies, friendships, but have also experienced God in our lives just as you have shared in this Pause for Faith. I feel at peace in my day when I get to listen before my run and work. Thank you for all that you do to bring me closer to my Faith during these trying times. Walsingham Chapel, Pause for Faith with Fr. Stepjhen, and Fr. Dave at St. Marta in NJ have been my saving grace weekly. Thank you! Happy Holidays from Oregon!

Father, these are fabulous presentations, and I'm grateful for them. But is there any chance you could get an audio man or a producer to make sure that you're online instead of trying to test it while you're on air?

Thanks Charles. They were all done in the livestream for Covid. I tend to record things now so they are a bit smoother!

I noticed the preface of The Story of a Soul is written by a chaplain of westminster, just like you!
