This teacher lived in a predominately white secluded/sheltered town of course the curriculum would be about white picket fences, he lived in a box, probably had the same routine day in day out. Except for the fact that the specific assignment was racially motivated. Its not like its 'star of the week' or something. He made it clear that it was so she could feel "represented." (Aka he made it clear that he was doing this for his reputation). But why can't he just choose diversity in the first place?
