I just finished watching the show...This is undoubtedly a mastepiece and the composer Carlos Rafael Rivera did an incredible job with the soundtrack. So what can I say, I had to play one of the pieces ;)

I really like the arrangement, but I think there are mistakes in the sheet music. At bar 9 and 10 there is a thrill and indication that you need to hold it during the 10th bar and also during that time you have to play C with left hand too. This doesn’t match up with the video. Maybe I am mistaken, if so, please correct me.
I finished the queens gambit after a week of watching it on Netflix. I really loved the series, and the music, and I am so disappointed that it ended.

I thought the same thing. It's most likely inspired by it. It's not only that the melody and chord progression is similar, but the entire structure of the piece is nearly identical

this is the thing about music... we think that we're talking about a way of language, like we're just expressing something through harmony and rythm, and in a way that's kind of true, but music is not a language, nor a way for expressing one-self emotions. Music is not bound by ego, as we humans are, music itself is a way for us to know, to be, to understand... just as language is a way for us to communicate our thinking and feelings, as a form of reasoning, well... music is just the same, saying that music is language is limitating, which is not, music is for humans a way of reasoning and understanding our existence and the way the universe works... Sagan said it himself, if we truly want to get how does the universe works, we need to understand it in terms of frecuency, rythm and synchronization. Reasoning is our way to understand ourselves as existential beings, and music is a form far from that to understand not only ourselves, but also the universe in which we got the miracle of existence... our existence itself, apart from our egos, is music and harmony.
