    Thx for showing! AA is for me useful as emergency backup light. Therfore I put expensive AA 1,5V Lithiums in AA lights. 40% less weight, 3x the runtime and no leaking plus better cold resistance while they last for a decade or more. Forget alkaline chemistry!

      I do agree that alkalines are a waste, primary lithium's are not that common here and are still expensive i just had a look a 4 pack cost $24. I got 100 pack of AA alkaline batteries for $25 on sale for emergencies. Best mid ground would be NiHM cells and more specifically the Ikea LADDA cells.

    Nice review and memes!, this t4 is suitable for everyone like the jaxman m2, would like to get an orange T4 with jagged bezel and a beaded tir for indoors, mate do you remember we were talking about the retaining ring for the S21E, I'm designing a screwdriver and a switch retaining ring for it.
    The screwdriver is because, with circlip pliers it's pretty hard to remove and don't want to scratch the host, when I finish the desings I will send to print 1 of each to JLCPCB and see if it fits at the first try, like when I designed a bezel to convert a SkyWolfEye into a mule haha.

      I love my Jaxman E3 (now modded with 519A 4500K dedomed), just wish it had a better driver, I'm planning to replace the driver with Convoy's T3 driver.

      Yea i have been checking the thread almost daily, Simon is releasing some new drivers i am interested. I will ask again about the retaining ring it would come in handy, I have bead optics that fit in a S2+, before Fasttech closed i bought some random parts like those seeing as they are hard to find.

      @@everydaysurvivalgear Yes, so do I. Can't wait for him to release the S21E XHP50.3 HI with Anduril and the S2+ Ti 18350 with his new 17mm 6V 4A XHP50.3 HI.

      @@300ZCorradoVR6Z I prefer the Jaxman E3 over the Convoy T2 and T3 in terms of design but it is somewhat expensive compared to the convoys, I have 2 Jaxman M8 I like them a lot.

      @@everydaysurvivalgear By chance those optics you get from Fasttech are honeycomb beaded or the ones that look like a flower, simon sells the honeycomb style, didn't know Fasttech closed, I remember I bought some drivers during the begining of covid-19 they never arrived( Probably the customs manager of my country has a chinese shop and ended there ).
      Yes seems interesting the 6v 17mm driver, now we could use a high cri XHP50.3 HD/Hi or XHP70.3 HD/Hi in a C8 host.

    Where is the sense resistor on T4 driver? Inbetween the stacked PCB's?
    Modding scene died whilst I was away and now I can't find high current drivers for my 2s hosts.

    • @everydaysurvivalgear
      @everydaysurvivalgear  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Hey, I don't think i have taken the driver out of the T4, its a buck driver so it might not be able to handle to much current as it will get hot. If you run it on 2 high drain 14500 i think it does 1000 lumens stock.

      @netyr4554 Před 7 měsíci

      I'll be running it on 2x 26650s though, 1000 lumen runtime king?

    Another great light from Convoy. Say NO to ALKALEAKS!

      In emergencies they come in handy ,otherwise i use NiMHs they work out better in the long run more capacity under load.

      Not a single alkaline battery has ever leaked for the past 30 years! Indoor use. In any device. Where do they leak in your situation?

      @@alext8410 TV remotes, wall clocks, radios, basically all household electronics. Good for you, it hasn't happened to you. Must be nice. Doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Ruined enough electronics for me to never use them unless absolutely an emergency. Plus they're terrible for the environment. Most batteries are but at least rechargeables can be recharged.

    • @alext8410
      @alext8410 Před 4 měsíci

      I came across leaky cheap zink ones, they are called salt batteries in my country. But alkalines... I can only recall one remote from an old tv, was cleaning it because of leaked batteries, but not sure which ones were there. Nevertheless I quitted using disposals 6 years ago and bought NiMH, just because I like to charge them and quickly swap with charged ones and because of environment issue. Now I use alkalines in some of my child's toys, 1.2V is not always suitable, and I buy cheaper chinese brands now instead of major brands, lets see how they are gonna work.

    Nice light, i would get 2 if they were $10 or less..... Sofirn and wurkkos would get my vote at $20 range.

    • @everydaysurvivalgear
      @everydaysurvivalgear  Před rokem

      Yea they make some great lights, I have seen the Convoy T4 as low as $18-19 USD. Check out the Coleman light its pretty good if you can get it cheap, even some of the Duracell lights look decent. They sell the Duracell lights at Costco here in Australia so it should be the same as the American models.

    • @josxd8598
      @josxd8598 Před rokem +2

      With the manufacturing costs of today, no way a T4 could cost $10, Convoy T4 is bigger with thicker aluminum walls than almost any sofirn at the $20 range, both are well machined but the bigger host should be more expensive, in emitters selection T4 wins easily, in the driver mmm I'll give the edge to sofirn but only if it has anduril, if I'm right just SP31 pro and above have anduril, so a tie or a win for sofirn if with anduril, in light output sofirn wins.
      The only 2AA flashlight I can think of for less than $10 is the SkyWolfEye B17, from all the cheap flaslights I have bought the B17 is the one with better machined host, sure is thinner than a T4 but isn't the thinniest, I modded it swapping the cool led to a neutral led and modded the driver by removing an IC to turn it into a single mode driver, no more strobe :D, 3 hours runtime with NiMH, would be great to have 3 modes without strobe.
