Laurence is so good on camera, so good at color commentary. Knows the sport inside and out, knows the athletes, knows all the inside information, and conveys his love and enthusiasm for the sport of strongman to the viewer. It's no surprise he's now in demand to commentate...
Yep, his CZcams channel is great too
Agreed
At some point, I believe his 2019 WSM injuries had led him to the many great opportunities in strength media. His YT Channel, his coaching, his great strongman & strongwoman contents. It wouldn't be much rich strength content (I think) if he is still competing.
Uncle Loz is the best 🦾
Aaand he usually converts kgs to lbs and lbs to kgs. Wonder why he doesnt do that here..
I love Rouges coverage and free live streams of this show and right away too!!! I literally do not even care about WSM anymore. It's not even on my radar anymore..
This might be my favorite competition because of the coverage
WSM will be devastated it’s not on your radar 🙄🙄🙄🙄
I totally agree! As a new fan of strongman rogues coverage has made it easy to enjoy the events live.
Yup agreed, production levels way ahead of WSM. The events being actual strong events showing who actual is the strongest of the strong. What I also love, no silly straps or tacky, fantastic! that should be a universal thing.
Rogue is a blessing for the sport of strongman
@4:46:50 Chloe Brennan's Dinnie Stone attempt was the highlight of the day for me! I stood up and yelled by myself in my apt on her final attempt.
How does that even work? She weighs 140lbs, fails twice initially and still has enough in reserve to break two stones off the ground, that men twice her weight and much larger hands fail at.
I was so impressed at that. Donna struggled to break one stone, and comes along and nails it!
@@gotzvonunentberlichingen1452 She has the warriors spirit that can summon ungodly amounts of adrenaline
Luke Stoltman getting 3rd is absolutely incredible. Martins showed he is the man and big up to Novikov, thoughts with him and his countrymen
Best wishes to both JF and Novikov!
That was a scary injury. At 39 that may be the end of his career. It would suck to go out that way.
@@bmstylee Usually I would agree but it's JF and he'll probably come back stronger!
I wonder if what put trey 2nd in the Oak was his struggle to get it over head...

Oleksiy knew it, Dragon said thank you for pushing me.
Martins looked absolutely jacked during that last stone to shoulder !!
He pumps with giant rocks. Go watch the Rogue Invitational after he wins it, he looked like a monster.
He is always great at putting the climax. Like WSM 2019, Rogue Invitational, and now Arnold's. Literally like a happy ending in movie

Novikov's stone to shoulder was something else! After the failed attempts he pulls it out the bag, love the crowds reaction too! Slava Ukraini 💪🏻
100% not giving up after faillure and executing the challange in those final seconds was pretty impressive and cool to watch!
SO much drive and support! He was feeling the crowd and fighting for his country!!!
Heroes Slava! 🇺🇦
I have to say congratulations to Rogue. Their production levels are so on point it's unreal, make WSM look like a bunch of amateur's.
thank you Rouge for the great coverage of this event, 3 world's strongest man winners in 1 single competition, these men are truly the strongest in the world.
Maxine did incredible in event 4, that's 880 up a ramp! That man might as well be part truck.
czcams.com/video/78BzPt1cDaM/video.html
I feel like there was an entire nation lifting that stone to Novikov's shoulder. It brought a tear to my eye, well done Oleksii and stay strong Ukraine!!!
thank you, brother! An absolute truth about the stone 🙏
Bobbie Thompson set the bar to first get the boulder to shoulder. I though Olski did well especially for the condition he was in. Second to shoulder the boulder. As for the Ukraine remark they have an interesting history with Russia and I'm an American with an America 1st patriotism. Russia has some powerful allies and the American government and media has not been the most tactile approaching the issue. Being bold and stupid is the same as being vulnerable and open.
czcams.com/video/78BzPt1cDaM/video.html
Martins reminds me of Brian. Not all powerful, but you can't put them away. Oleksi reminds me of Marius. Just pure stubbornness. That stone to shoulder was amazing.
I wonder if Martins will start going after all the top mid tier shows now. Shaw classic and the wus. That's something he could do no one else has done.
I get what you mean but Brian Shaw is one of the strongest men to ever walk the face of the earth he won Arnold's 3x which proves he has that top end strength he's a 1000lb puller and one of the greatest squaters too, like Martin's it's being weekness free and being well rounded that wins him shows but Brian is all powerful
Big Loz is the only human on the planet that makes polos look good.
UNREAL GIRL WITH THE STONES!!! I mean, it's beyond fantastic!!
Cloie Brenin was quite something. First one to lift the dennie and only 140lbs? Incredible.

I would love to have the live mics on the floor of the competition. Seemed like this great coverage could go to another level with the announcers on the floor and the end when Arnold was talking. Instead we heard Rogues theme song. Great show.
Agree. Would love to know what Arnie was saying
I gave this a like because it's a good suggestion and I think Arnold's should see it
Wow novikovs stone to shoulder was absolutely incredible
My congratulations for Oleksii Novikov. Oleksii, we are with you forever
He really has fought hard all through this. I'm replying to you as event 4 closes on the video.

watching Martins recovery the last 2 years has been amazing
So funny when Romark jumps on Martins and he barely moves.
right? romarks like 160 170
Can we talk about how stoltman cleaned 440 3 times back to back? He may have not gotten it over head but that is amazing!
Martins is officially the world's overall strongest man. He's good at everything!
Hope JF is OK!
No he’s not
@@simmiesim321 Tom showed he was a quitter though.
@@a-a-rondavis9438 who the hell mentioned Tom ???
@@simmiesim321 your comment alluded to the fact that Tom is the actual "WSM", but Martins has won the biggest contest in the eyes of the fans and some athletes. OP was saying Martins was the strongest because of the previous statement. You can't just say, "No he's not" and not have an alternative reason why.
@@a-a-rondavis9438 Tom stopped doing the stone as they had 30 seconds to lap it or it was over. Tom’s head though wasn’t in the game.
Super KUDOS to MARTINS ! And Super impressive performance and much deserved 2nd place by Ukrainian Strongman O. Novikov ! GOD BLESS and SAVE his native Ukraine and their People !
This is the first time I've seen women compete in strongman and it is so inspirational! Thanks Rogue for covering this amazing event
Martins is a student of Haugen, so ofcourse he can show off and is confident going into the last event. Great body of work, nice guy :)
Rogue is so professional, the way they are doing this should be an example to all strongman comp organizers. Really showing the potential that this sport has. Great job!
05:39:26 is a look of pure respect
If you’ve been following Martins channel and his training, this Arnolds was his from the beginning! MARTINS!!
As good as novikov is on the dumbells, mateusz is on the stones. A shame he couldn't be there.
Matuesz is better at max dumbbell and Oleski is better at reps. Would have loved to have seen Mat compete here.
tom wasnt even trying on the stone to shoulder, MMMMMMAAAAAAARRRRRRRTTTTTTTIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNSSSSSSS
because hes always next to tom you forget how huge Luke stoltman is ....in that final line up hes making Bobby and olekksii look like kids ,hes so thick
Great strongman aswell 👍👍
@@tatts_with_traps yeah if he could up that deadlift and grip hes pretty much all there
@@Gbonejohn1974 yeh his deadlift does cost him he will always place better in a heavier competition like the Arnold’s compared to world’s strongest man he seems to be statically better he did ok on the timber carry so his grip getting better at one time he would of been like Trey michell I like Trey but to turn up at the Arnold’s and not be able to pick the timber carry up is bad all round to no rep anything is a terrible
@@Gbonejohn1974 honestly, most of the modern athletes have pretty disappointing grip strength it seems. If think since most of the deadlift events in Strongman allow straps, most people seem to neglect it.
Congratulations to Martins! Novikov put on a monster performance! I wonder how Luke would've done if he hadn't started off so low in squat attempts, I think he's capable of a 900+ squat
Get well soon JF
He was close on his squat, think if he'd planned the jumps better he would have got decent points. Great performances from the athletes
I’m guessing he did his squat jumps like that because he expected quad problems after the spasming at Britain’s. After he got his second and realized he was fine it was too late to do anything other than go balls out. Probably the smartest strategy he could’ve employed speaking long-term.
If Luke had just done 30 pounds lighter for his last squat he would have beaten Bobby by 3 or so points
@@beardedbjorn5520 it's a lot of ifs and buts, but what I found v impressive is that despite the initial setback and disappointment of finishing bottom for squats, he pulled himself up and smashed the rest of the comp
That was AWESOME! No better competition!
Thank you for the awesome content Rogue
Wow. This is why I love this sport. Such a good contest. Nail biting stuff towards the end.
Wow, what an awesome show!
Fantastic coverage and old school ESPN quality commentary.
Wish they’d bring back the Yoke next year, I know it got really heavy but it was always fun to watch

Martins is such a freak. Dude always comes in 100% and doesnt play around
What a fantastic show this was! 👏
thanks for showing this for free rather watch it on Rumble but im grateful to see it.
Stone to the shoulder point system is stupid. Markov lifting it twice to his lap = 20 points. Trey lifts it to the shoulder and fails to get his hand away = 10 points. Odd brought Martins to strongman years ago. Martins has trained with the stone before and it shows.
That petite woman, I never expected that. Even professional strongmen struggle with those stones.
I mean she has power for sure, but yes I agree
Exactly! For even experienced strong women such as Donna not to get the stones off yet for her to. What a win for female strength!
czcams.com/video/78BzPt1cDaM/video.html
This was the most exciting final event I’ve ever seen in strongman so far. Unreal!!
That line up was about as packed as it gets these days, I'm excited we have three individual wsm winners, don't think that's happened at the Arnold's before, usually it's just one guy takes it and it felt that way with martins but any other events someone else could take it it's brilliant.
Bobby Thompson being a fill in and getting third is next level impressive
Mitchell's save was great
If Martins stays healthy for the next 3-4 years, I think will be mentioned in the same lines as Brian Shaw & Big Z. He is a true strongman. Absolutely no weak events. He performs well in anything and everything. That consistency is what makes him stand above the rest. Tom Stoltman and Mateusz Kieliszkowski have the physical gifts but they don't necessary do well in most events. Both of them are strong in some events but terrible in some. Only Novikov comes close to Martins.
When I think I’m strong enough….these men log press what I squat. God Bless ‘Em All
Lovely sport
Meanwhile WSM just posted the whole 2019 show on their channel…..
Unbelievable. These are humans.
Chloé Brennan lifting the dinnie stones... that is just unbelivable coming from a 67kg person (7 times BW)
50:48 Austrian oak log lift event
Trey’s 460 log blew my mind! I
I love Martins, he's a great champion and seems like a great guy but to have the Haugen stone as the final event isn't really fair. Martins trains with Odd Haugen at his gym and has a lot of opportunity to train with the stone. A quick CZcams search and you can find Martins practicing with it in 2017. Some of the other athletes would have been lifting it for the first time and the event is incredibly technique dependent. You could tell Martins knew exactly how to approach the lift where others couldn't work out how to get it off the ground.
Martins probably still would have won with a different final event but the least you can do for the other athletes is give them a level playing field.
Never seen he trains with it regulary just Sandbags.
MK would have blitzed him on it if he was there (which he was meant to be when events were announced) therefore irrelevant comment.
I think once they started using it in comp he can’t train on it. I don’t believe he trained with it during this prep. He was doing sandbag to shoulder
I k ow martins won but what oleksii did with that stone. Stole the show. Great event boys. This year‘s worlds strongest man is going to be fun. I just wish they would live stream it like rogue does for this
That JF injury was horrifying. Brutal sport. Hoping he recovers quickly ;/ but there was never a doubt in my mind Martin’s was gonna take the title. What an athlete!!!
I missed it , what happened to JF?
@@davestephens3246 god damn! That didn't look good
Injured tendon in the left leg, and then had the log land on his right knee. If JF isn’t finishing a competition, then you know it’s bad.
Martins shows he's here to stay, and I'd say he's the top dog right now, he knows how to peak and perform. He had a legendary performance on the stone, and showed out on both the Log and Timber Carry.
Tom shows once again he's a quitter, and needs way more experience at other events other than Giant's Live shows. His technique went out the window for the dumbbell, couldn't finish the Timber Carry, and straight gave up on the Stone To Shoulder. That WSM name isn't holding a lot of weight for him right now. At least Luke fought it out and even won an event after placing dead last on squat.
Bobby did fantastic and was one of three to shoulder the stone, impressive getting bronze. He was SO close to getting the American Log Lift record while he was at it, and it was a shame they had him at reserve before.
Luke redeemed himself after starting off at 10th on the squat, his weight jumps were a mistake and he didn't do what he could. I thought he'd be top 5.
Rob surprised me, then disappointed me. Being on top after 3 events was very good for him, but dropped the next two events like I thought he would. His squat was the most impressive event for him, getting 2nd.
Maxime did around what I expected, came mid-pack at most things and then surprised me by SMOKING the Timber Carry. He needs to improve his dumbbell and he'll make waves.
Trey disappointed me as well. He bombed the first two events where I thought he'd stay top 3 in. His weights were low, and the dumbbell seemed like he just wasn't there that day. His log redeemed him a bit then literally only budged the frame an inch. He could've shouldered the stone with a little balancing.
Markov did halfway decent for being new and undersized. I thought he would do more on the dumbbell considering how good he actually is. I expected him to do basically what he did for the rest of the events.
Novikov showed out and maybe would've won if he did well on the Timber Carry. Great squatting, good log, legendary performance on the dumbbell, shows he's nowhere near the rest of the pack, on top of a mountain in that event. With what has been going on in his home country, I thought he would falter a bit because of the stress and what he's been going through, but he actually outperformed himself. Deserved 2nd place and prize money.
And lastly, prayers for JF. Very unfortunate end to the show, and sucks when he actually has a chance to do damage and show his brute strength, he gets not one problem, but two problems. He maybe band-aids his shoulder to do the rest of the show, then gets what looks like to be a tendon snap. I heard it when it happened, and it could've been a patella tendon. He's the Canadian terminator with an injury history that doesn't make sense as to why he's still here, but he's still a top Strongman today at 39. Hopefully he will recover and still compete at the world level.
I think Tom is a quitter in the sense that when he doesn't do well he goes soft even on events that he could win however, when you're a wsm winner and capable of winning major shows, when you're not in contention for even a podium finish then there's no point going all out and potentially injuring yourself, Brian Shaw does the same thing, and I think the day Brian Shaw turns up like he did in 2011 willing to die for the title is the year he gets his 5th title
@@Scott-jk5zk I'm trying to find a moment in which Brian did what Tom did. If Brian's actively injured, he puts up more of a fight than Tom does when he's pouting. There were athletes in this contest that had no business being able to get to the podium after a certain point, yet fought, like Trey, Maxime, and Markov. You just complete a show with grit and show what you're made of to the Strongman community. I always want the best to perform their best, and it's always a big blue ball moment when they don't, especially when it's all mental, like with Tom.
If Tom had Lukes brain he would be very dangerous. I think autism plays a part in mental fortitude
Regarding JF and Tom, I always believed being strong is more than just your muscles. You have to be mentally strong as well, if you are not, then you get Tom. I know he is autistic, but this performance highlights what Im saying. And not just mentally strong, but you have to be a good tactician to know how to do things, what weights to go for, I think Novikov is an excellent example of that, while a negative example is Luke on the squat. Finally, physically strong is not just your muscles, but everything in your body. Its always a shame when someone gets injured, I hope JF will recover asap, but if you get injured, you are clearly not the strongest. Injury is part of the sport.
„Disappointed?“ Dude, you hold these guys to impossible standards. Not everyone can be top 3 everywhere, especially on their weaker events.

I think Tom can do well in this, but not yet. He's still exceptional, and remember that he blasted through Britains just a few days before. He needs better static strength though.

Not only is that timber carry 400kg but its insanely wide in comparison to a trapbar and wider than most frame carry events.
Romark is such a great hype man lmao
sad that Kieliszkowski wasnt able to compete.. He should be dominant as Thor was but he is destroyed by injuries.

Tom quitting on the stone is pretty embarrassing. Martins is the best strongman in the world right now.

I thought they had a 30 second rule where if you don’t get a lap in 30 seconds its over
If the athletes couldn’t lap it in 30 seconds they were disqualified from that event. He timed out
Martins got a huge advantage on the stone. You know he knew how to lift it prior to this bc Odd owns the stone
