Chances are you don't even know where gaza is.
You most likely have know idea what the river is called or where it starts or finishes.
As for the sea, you most probably have no idea about that either.
And for a bonus do you have any idea what other country has a border with gaza, and is not allowing anyone from gaza through the border to escape the "starvation" that they have been suffering from these last 144 days.
Just imagine 144 days and counting, without food and water, this must be a world record.
How could just grass and rainwater sustain a body for so long.
Anyone living in gaza with half a brain cell would go down to the harbour or beach with his family, out of harms way and out of hamas's way, and catch a few fish for his supper. The fields in gaza have loads ov vegetables and with the other half of his wives brains they could have some fish and chips.

I was willing to give Starmer a chance after his leadership campaign, I could have got behind his 10 pledges. Unfortunately in the following 3yrs, and after his numerous flip-flopping/u-turns I became increasingly concerned about where he stood on the things that I care about. I want rid of the Tories as much as everyone else, but I want a leader that I can believe in, who has integrity and principles and who offers hope for the many not the few. Therefore his appearance on LBC and his support for collective punishment on the people of Palestine was the final nail in the coffin for me. I was willing to wait for the manifesto to be produced, hoping that I could get behind the policies and hold my nose over the leader... but I cannot. Enough is enough!

Maybe the media should simply accept that the fracture of U.K. politics is much larger than they think it is. Starmer is nowhere near as popular as people think especially amongst northern left leaning constituencies. I would make this bet. If high profile leftist independents stood in Liverpool and Galloway and corbyn Stumped for them then Labour would lose seats especially in white working class areas. Similarly in areas of greater Manchester.

And what’s a rich, powerful, bellicose nation, with absolute impunity thanks to their outsized benefit to the arms industry, to do with its unhappy subjugated people, not-yet-seized lands, and all these bombs just lying around? Opportunity and growth are right there for the seizing, they just needed an excuse. And a great and terrible excuse presented itself, that fateful day in October.

James, while I love your take on Brexit, I find that your defense of Starmer is misplaced. Maybe I'm too far to the left but all I see is that he is a conservative but red. You said at 10:10 that we didn't know until that event but it was always going to happen. Even if it had not been Gaza, his inability to commit to any left leaning policy, taxing the rich and closing loop hole in tax, or even the environment pledge he rescinded (yes I know the circumstance, but people don't really see any further than the first layer with first impression) mean that he will always be attacked from both sides. Starmer may try to be seen as a reasonable middle option, but he is the middle between sense and nonsense, eating half a bar of soap doesn't make it any less silly than eating a full bar.
The vote for Starmer this year will be like the 2020 US election, with the country voting against the current ruling party rather than FOR the new one. And this situation in Gaza, where by November he should have defended Palestine and not punish his own members for their stance on it just further highlight his disconnect from his supporters.

However, Labour has proposed Citizens' Assemblies which is a first step towards PR, and I happen to know that PR is very popular now throughout the greater Labour support and membership.

He opens by making snide comments about GG making it about himself? Zero self awareness. I can’t listen to this hypocrite any longer. I’m no fan of GG but trying to score a pathetic spotty student like point about Nick Griffin was cringeworthy.

It shouldn’t have any bearing on how we vote! We live in the United Kingdom and we should vote on who we think will do the best for our towns, cities and country.

I am white. I was horrendously abused starting at age three. I have suffered great depression and am permanently psychologically disabled. I am poor as a consequence and looked down upon by relatives who don't want to know what a monster my father was at times. But apparently I am privileged and even spoiled by comparison with blacks and Jews, according to people who were not abused as I was. What makes them feel victimized and distressed is not what happened to them personally but reflecting on what happened to their ancestors ! There is something very messed up in this presentation of victimhood.
We are all individuals and generalizations about a whole section of other people is sloppy thinking and always wrong.

I, and many others, are totally disgusted at the lack of empathy for the recent massacre in Palenstine. And I am not Muslim. If I was in Rochdale, I would have voted for Galloway for his Gaza stance alone.

Food wise, in Europe you eat well, if your lucky to live on the Mediterranean coast you eat healthy and well. I love it.
