Bollocks I had no idea Edgar had past away forgive my ignorance. ..T Dream was the first gig I ever went to. my old man took me to see them when I was 14... completely blew me away. nothing but love for this band.
As a long time TD fan with over 120 LPs (some vinyl, some CD) in my collection, I think "Tangerine Dream - The Next Generation" is doing an excellent job in keeping the dream alive.
TD have produced various versions of RUBYCON, in the recent past. When I first heard this, I was totally blown away!.This is beautifully crafted, with a minimal use of original samples...great sequencing, good mellotron vibes. I love this! Thanks for sharing, Richard!

Wow, just discovered this amazing reworking. The original Rubycon (and the subsequent extended version) is the start of my personal time gate with TD's music. Is this the best reworked version when compared to the Swiss live recording from the same year or the Particles album?
Great version...they combine now the best of all possibilities how to arrange their stuff,Edgar would love it too im sure...very spiritual that all...im amazed by the whole concert,but is nowwhere to find...i investigate all serious sites normally...if its good as the quantum-album,its definetely a must have ! Some time ago there was a complete concert video,but its gone,had no time even to listen and inform me if it was the Poland 2016,grrr ! As you see im still hunting,hahaha ;)
The first time i heard the original Rubycon , the album sleeve , the organic sounds made by Edgar , Peter and Christophe just blew me away . Nicely done this , but nothing like the original .

Well, I will have to say that I like the original better. However, this is still very cool and I bet it was an absolutely unreal experience in person. I have not attended a single one of their concerts, and I really would like to. In person, I could only imagine how amazing this was. Tangerine Dream is amazing.
Not sure what to make of this version. Moments of tremendous, irrepressible majesty..punctuated by notes of plastic insufficiency. The depth of Rubycon is hinted at, but its not delivered as the dark brooding vision-of-heaven-and-hell power house of the original. 06:35..07:00 illustrates this well, where in the original that moment chills the soul.. this version .. not quite so much.
Edgar Froese left his material body on 20 January 2015, and this concert was in 2016. So the answer is: yes. But remember that Edgar once said: 'There is no death, there is just a change of our cosmic address.'
