This the first album I bought of Tangerine Dream. It's so nostalgic now. Looking back and taking the the journey of discovering all their past music was a real joy. One of my favorite groups of all time. When Jerome joined his fathers group I thought he would carry on the Dream but that didn't happen. Luckily he Edgar found a few others that would want to carry on TD. RIP Edagar. You are truly an original and truly missed. What a musical genius and pioneer you will always be...

I also believe that a modern 2D/3D animated short film that looks like it could have been made in 1988 would be absolutely amazing with a soundtrack like this! Burning Force would also be the perfect song for the introduction of an old biological looking robotic anthropomorphic bull/minotaur emerging from the distance with it’s xenon headlights being blindingly bright. It could also very likely be an ancient machine from another past era of great innovations and high excitement for the technological innovations to come.

Took the train from NYC to Montreal in '77 just to see them. I was only 14 and traveling on my own but my parents were hippie types and cool about stuff like that. At the venue I was seated next to a 12 year-old girl with her father. After the show I had the munchies and went to a nearby diner and saw that the cute girl and her dad were there. They invited me to their table and there was definite chemistry between the girl and I. Her name was Sarah and long story short we kept in touch even though we lived 300 miles apart and in different countries. 8 years after the concert she became my wife. To this day we still listen to TD vinyls from time to time, mostly stuff that predates Tangram, our favorite is Phaedra.
Bought this on vinyl in 1983 his album along with rybycon and hyperborea is some of their best

I was there. They had to play at rather low volume levels because of some restriction due to the close city environment. Finally I can hear it at proper volumes!

Bought this album in 1980 after having experienced a radio concert broadcast (the east Berlin concert). Still listen to it every once in a while. Still enjoy it, still can't find no boring sequences in it. It's 44 years since then . The only thing that bothers me about this album: It's way too short......

I like to listen to old electronic music like this because it makes me appreciate just how far synthesizers have come in the past few decades. When I listened to Tangerine Dream in the early 80s I thought these were the most amazing sounds I had ever heard. Now that synthesizers can make incredibly complicated and natural sounds all I hear in this music are simple waveforms and filter sweeps.
While it is true that technology has improved rapidly, I don’t seem to find any band or solo artist using modern electronics to an extent these people did in the past while having much inferior technology.
