I know it's been a few years and someone may have already answered you, but the nose texture is called a noseprint (as with fingerprint) and it's unique to each dog :)

Lepontine can you tel me if the derwent super fine point is good for pastel pencil?
you said you'r derwent sharpener is broken after some times you use for pastel pencil so i don't want to broke mi derwent so i ask to you that question.

Yeah I have used it several months for pastel pencils without problems, but after a while it started to get dull and my points started breaking. I wouldn't recommend it anymore because of that now!
