- Welcome back to my channel!
This video I take you along on a day trip with me as I search for a new camp location. I plan on building a shelter between these two trees and throughout the year I will keep adding new features to make this spot a real camp oasis! This is the first video of this series, I can't wait to start building and for the transformation to begin!
I'm thinking I will start with a basic lean to. Please let me know in the comments your ideas and recommendations!

S. Alan 🙂✌️
Yes exactly :)
You make the whole job of fire building and eating in the winter woods look so relaxing and comfortable!
It’s definitely therapeutic!
What can I say? A great video beautiful winter landscape 👌
Lovely sound of that fire crackling 👍
I wish more females in UK were as adventurous as you.
thank you!
Greetings from Nova Scotia Canada & its always nice to see a lone woman in the bush, doing bushcraft that mostly men do !!
Keep up the good work Ms.
😉💯👍👌💪
thank you!! Hoping to get out East soon, I visited Nova Scotia years ago and have wanted to go back to explore further ever since!
Hi Caitlin! It will be a very interesting serie!
We are always waiting to see what you will eat and this time too it was a grat meal. Interesting the plate with the handle for the toast, we've never seen it, but it's probably very common :-)
We are going out to a whole day in the forest this Saturday, I was telling to my wife, " maybe the Timbers will give us some tips on what to cook and there it comes your video :-) Tack you very much for sharing! Greetings from Sweden!
Ps. My wife says it is a good tip about the trousers from Fjallraven (Fjällräven in swedish means mountain fox or artic fox).
its soo amazing seeing more and more women doing this content on YT! :)
Now that's what i call social distancing :) Very relaxing to watch!
haha yes! Glad you enjoyed it :)
Looking forward to seeing you develop your new spot. Stay warm!
Got a very useful fire tip that it needs oxygen (air flow) in the beginning and then just enjoy the process with patience :) Thank you cait !
Timmmmmmber! Great video,,relaxing and serene! Just what I needed after the day I had at work today,,thank you for that .
Glad to hear you enjoyed it! :)
Great movie. A perfect tutorial for someone like me. A nice place to stay in it forever. Best regards and welcome to the English forests of My Self Bushcraft.
Great skills. Hint: don't scrape your kettle clean, leave it blackened, it will boil faster. (Black attracts heat, shinny reflects it.)
And I usually hybernate ,other then clearing the car.☺Cool saw though!
You picked a good spot plenty of white cedar and white spruce for your fires
Watching you living harmoniously in nature is so comforting! And that grilled cheese was making my mouth water! Thanks for a great video!
Glad you enjoyed watching :) While editing this video I may have had a few more grilled cheeses! Couldn’t help it!
Thank you for sharing. You have really inspired me to start making bushcraft videos as well🙏✨💞
That’s great to hear! You definitely should!
Hey, Buttons!!!! Where have you been, girlie!! I'm cheered up just seeing you doodle around in the forest.

That’s so nice of you to say, thank you! Can’t wait to film this next video!
I am a professional toasted cheese maker. When you walked away from your toasted cheese sandwich in the fire, I thought it was toast ; ). Great video!
Haha I made sure to move it away from the coals while I stepped away! They are so fragile, have to keep an eye on them at all times! This one came out perfect :)
Incrível.......Espetacular
TOP! Saluti dall' Italia!
Great skill in building that fire . Look forward to your lean to construction.
thank you! You and me both! :)

That sandwich is making me hungry. Can't wait for the build. 👍
It was so good!
@@TheTimberLife have a good one and stay safe up there in Ont. We started to peak here in New Brunswick. Cheers 👍
It makes me feel so good to see a capable woman doing her thing :) We've all had to learn the lessons first, no one is born fully knowledgeable. I look forward to seeing more lessons learned. I hope you all stay safe and well my friend :))
(p.s. I've always been in favor of a tipi (teepee) style shelter; makes me feel a bit more protected with using poles and tarp ;)
you and your boyfriend are great on youtube! I love watching you individually, I don’t want to sound misogynistic but I enjoy watching overcome the stereotypes of the “female bushcraft youtuber” you guys both kill it! 🤘🏽

Unfortunately I’m right-handed, so I couldn’t learn anything from this video.
Really though, it’s nice to be able to do winter camping from my living room.
Haha yes I’m a lefty !
@@TheTimberLife
Awesome, so am I.
That Agawa saw model seems a bit small. I have the larger model. Do you like the smaller one over a larger size?
Ya it is the smallest of the bunch. I liked it for this trip since it fit in my pack nicely and I was impressed it ripped through the wood pretty good for its size. For one load of firewood it’s great. But we have the bigger models and I’ll definitely be using a bigger saw to build the shelter.
Спасибо за очередное отличное видео!
Nice video
Thanks!
I watched the video well in Korea
Amazing! Cheers from Canada!
What type of boots are those and where from?

👍✌️👏
Catlin, there is something great to watching a few of your actions and reactions to being in the woods and coping. I guess it's because you look so much like a city girl, and then leave your viewers sensing just how capable you are at looking after yourself in this far more natural and physically demanding environment.
Without wishing to be sexist in any way, you do seem to portray several old takes on what used to be known as the weaker sex of womanhood in a very positive way. One that shows these mannerisms did not and do not display weakness at all, and that the concept of there being a weaker sex had little foundation in the minds of the men and women who believed in what their thoughts told them, as lived and experienced this crap as being an expression of reality.
Painted nails, trying not to smudge the make up, dainty hand movements, awkward stances and sitting postures, a so refined little sniff every now and then ,and yet all of them are carried by a positive can do spirit that makes watching you so worthwhile.
