- We are visiting the smallest village in Eastern Europe! Only 7 people live in Prikra, which seemed abandoned once we arrived, but we managed to find locals who told us the story of this remote place.

my old village had only 3 people living in there (Seikovci in Bulgaria) so when we moved there to live with my mom and dad we raised the population by 50% xDDD
U mean by a 100%
That's cool! :)
@@Horoscopephobia Obviously he means him and his parents moved there.
Dude no offense but that would be hella boring
How could you live like that?
Yeah man, in Bulgaria there are a lot of dying villages where the only inhabitants are above 70 years old (In my region I can name at least 3 matching the criteria)... It's sad because they are so beautiful tho and those people are so honest and kind...
Best serie in CZcams right now

One thing I wish Peter mentioned in the video: The people who live in that village are Rusyns - they're an ethnic minority that lives in that region. The reason why those places are so empty is that most of the population immigrated (mostly to the US in the early 1900s) or moved away to larger cities. This ethnicity is quite unique and slowly dying unfortunately. It's also the reason why the village called Havaj had a sign in Cyrillic.
What is that small ethnicity known for? Do they have a special tradition, costume? Are they ethnically Ukrainian, Poles?
It's sad that it's dying out :(
@@SilencedButNotForgotten I guess for never having their own state. Their language, customs and religion (Greek Catholicism) are similar to Western Ukrainians.
Fun fact - Andy Warhol was an ethnic Rusyn, and his parents migrated to the US from a village in Eastern Slovakia.
Rusini / Rusyns / Ruthenians
Are Ethnic East Slavs,
wery kind people,
unfortunately were thoroughly killed and displaced during and after WW2 by Germans, Ukrainians, and even Poles and Russians on occasions.
Are they the same as Lemkos? According to Wikipedia, it seems so.
This is a nice village. I could imagine to live there when I am older. A bit of gardening, a bit of walking, picking mushrooms etc. The secret of a long life. :)

Love this series. I get a glimpse of what a part of Europe (rural Slovakia) I know so little about is all about. The friendly people living a modest lifestyle, the beautiful scenary and what to do. The tourist office of Slovakia should be proud of you - you have made a swede living in Stockholm want to travel there - not because of Ice Hockey or the night life in Bratislava - but because of what you have shown in lesser known and rural areas of Slovakia (but I would 100% visit Bratislava too, lol).
@Teo R B Hallström I recommend Mala Fatra national park, if you are into hiking
@Teo R B Hallström Lovely! I found this video, if you are interested: czcams.com/video/laHwUNoO0xI/video.html
This particular hike Jánošíkove diery (Jánošík is Slovak Robin Hood :)) -Malý Rozsutec is my favorite hike in Slovakia. The most important national park for Slovaks is Vysoké Tatry however, because of their alpine landscape.
@Teo R B Hallström And if you don´t enjoy mass tourism spots, then I recommend for example Ostrá in Nízke Tatry.
@Teo R B Hallström My pleasure, really.

Peter's really bringing us to faraway and unfamiliar places while staying at home. Makes things better. ❤️
This village looks like it'd be raided by Bald n Bankrupt anytime soon. Almost abandoned and slavic babushkas.
lol i wish but i dont think he will...he only interested in soviet babushkas
I was thinking the same!! Lol
He got no one to manipulate & rape there.

@Greynoone
should have been more clear in the first comment I made the comment wasn’t poking fun at the lady, it was poking fun at the translation, I honestly don’t think that’s what the lady said word by word, I think she said something along the lines of that, but not necessarily that abrupt. Although I can’t confirm this because I don’t speak slovak. Maybe we should hit the gym together, I could get rid of my neck fat and your could get rid of all the built up anger that you take out on people over the internet.

If I'm not mistaken there's a disconnect. I think she meant she was putting on makeup.

Unfortunately I don't get Instagram, but let's say why I love the Slovak vlog anyway, it costs nothing to try.
Coming from the Alps, I have a big interest towards the remote places around the world, and I also love eastern, northern and central Europe. I've never been there, in Slovakia, but your perfectly realized vlog had immedialty catch my attention.
Yeah, I guess the reason why I love this vlog is that you visit unpopular places, but really really interesting to me. The funny touch, with Vlad, Ludo and your humor makes your videos perfect.
Bastien
Love how polite you are. Thank you.
In my country Slovenia we have some villages like this :)
I love this series so much and have been binge-watching the previous eps before this comes out! Love from Hong Kong 💕 🇭🇰
This is literally the highlight of my day.
This was so cute and lovely! Seeing a nearly abandoned village with many houses makes me sad... I can imagine how even just 50 years ago the village had more than even more than 200 people living there... How the life would have been... Full of life, kids running there, the community being together... Makes me sad, all that life, tradition, part of the region lost.
Peter!! This was a great video. I legit am in love with your videos. If you ever feel discouraged don't, your content is a blessing. Quality entertainment.
Only a shot of alcohol can bring a smile on Vlad's face XD
This is absolutely epik. You deserve millions more subs my guy.
Loved how you guys visited the most unrated places. You surely made them happy too.
Finally another episode of my favourite series on CZcams, love your content
i am in love with your slovak vlog because of natural beautiful palces , the culture , monuments of historic importance , and trends of fooding , life style of slovaks nd eastern europe people covered by you nd your team in very Engaging ,humorous , little bit supense and adventures with holistic view and the best thing is tht you cover even a solitary distance town which is very hard to visit without having our own transport . in short your art of selecting content and presentation with your lovly coperation with vladmir and puto is ultimate .
It is crazy people find places like this odd. There’s wood in my shed, there’s a well in the yard, there’s monthly mass in the church. But we DO have 2 busses a day most days of the year (never seen anyone catch it though!) at 8am and 2pm (reeeeeal useful) I think if you were raised in places like this, big cities are too manic (noise at night REALLY bothers me, so do street lights!) I moved to a city, lasted 5 years and moved right back to the middle of nowhere. 😁
Greetings from Holland Pppeter... I love your content! It is: original, entertaining, refreshing and all round good production quality!

I wonder what the younger generation are up to in that village and how they are coping up with the conditions.I was expecting this question to be asked by Peter .The village looks a perfect place to spend the retired life though.Beautiful and serene.
I doubt young people really exist there. Probably why the couple were so happy to accommodate them, they probably miss seeing their grandkids or youth around the village
