After smashing my front doors in, I managed to find replacements since the last video... So I can carry on from where I left off.
So... I painted stuff.
120 then 240 to prep the surface
Apply 2k primer
600 grit sand
Apply 2k basecoat
then immediately apply 2k clearcoat.
That's about it. I over-thunk it for a long time, but it's done now. I can enjoy life more after losing all my brain cells due to the paint fumes.
I guess I can start putting the car back together now ready to START IT

Ahhh painting . My biggest lesson was , when painting panels to match older painted panels don't trust the advice of paint shop which says "stick match is good enough" . Demand spray match otherwise you'll be sanding and paint again like I did 😅 .

WooHoo, it's painted...........ish. Now all you need is the other thing painted they all bolt too.........don't forget to paint all the bolt heads too Bud. I don't normally like red but that's nice, well done, for a beginner, can't wait to see the raptor liner on the floor pan, I'm pretty sure you'll never regret it mate. Seeya Rob.....BACK TO WORK !!!
It wouldn't be a youtube build if I didn't ultrasonic clean every nut and bolt, or buy them from nissan for $20 each

What colour is that? Looks similar to my old Toyota Hilux that was painted Volcano Red. Whatever it is, it looks great.
Thanks. With a Polish I reckon it'll look phenomenal, but no doubt my gut rubbing on it while I finish the build will negate any polish, so that'll come last. It's Mazda 41V colour
Why does the 2012 Ducati H8 keep appearing in the background of your videos, is it also getting a new paint job, why has it only done 20km in 6 months, is this your next project, maybe a DIY electric conversion perhaps, I am excited to see if there's any progress, maybe the Ducati will be attached to the v10? So many questions....
Anyone invasive can run a plate through the RMS website. But a more important question is why isn't my BMW back in my workshop?
