  • In this video we clean up and gloss up the old paint job on the barn find 52 Ford F1 pickup truck. This truck is an incredible survivor and a real barn find! It has been in the same family since it was new and has been passed down thru 4 generations. It has the 215 OHV 215 cubic inch inline 6 and a 3 speed on the column ( 3 on the tree). It"s really incredible the difference it made to the old paint job. Stay tuned for future videos of this truck once we get it back on the road again.

I volunteer at a local Veteran's Home. As a Vet myself I know the importance of finding anything possible to help with PTSD. We shared this Video with 20 Vets who absolutely loved every minute! Our oldest Vet is 83! He loved seeing something so familiar. Please know that while these may just be videos to y'all, they are wonderful forms of pure entertainment to others.

I used steel wool and chrome cleaner to clean front grill on my truck back in the 70s and it came out pretty good. Just a tip . Lol
And if you do. Make sure to use thin steel wool. It only takes off just enough to not scratch or take off to much at a time. If know what I mean. I'm sure you do . If you ever want to know how to fix upholstery without having to replace it all let me know. I've been doing what your doing and a lot of things for over 40 years. And just love watching what your all doing . Even on are road trips . Because it feels like I'm right in cars with you all .

She thinks she's going to drive it to school, but no power steering, no power brakes, three on the tree. We'll just have to see. Either way I will cherish the hours we've spent together and the opportunity to teach her about mechanical stuff, body and paint stuff, and the value of good ol' elbow grease. I enjoy watching the work on all the hooptie cars, but ain't nothing like seeing an all original truck like that come back to life. Those 50s Fords are the epitome of classic truck too. Chevy right up there. When I was a kid I'd spend time in the summer on a relative's farm in SC. Was always told those old trucks were designed to be cleaned with a hose inside and out. Maybe not wet the seats every day, but whenever it got dusty and muddy you'd just open the doors and clean floors and hose off the entire thing. No rags. No brushes. Don't know if it's they way they were designed, but certainly the way the were used!

I have a neighbor, I don't post last names but John W. L. rolled a 50 ford just like this one into his shop lasn september of 21. He is eighty five years old and he really is in the shape of a say sixty year old man (sometimes having lots of money does help) but he took the time an cleaned the insides first... rightly I shouldn't say as when I did look at it first, he had the interior completely out and that includes the cover for the transmission too. His time he spent meant he didn't have to go to church with his wife who spent more than half of the week there... he always went sunday morning but then he spent the rest of those days working on his projects. He owns the largest collection of Internationals in alaska... I'd say maybe a thousand trucks of all years and sizes, this includes some of the very first ones ever made.Anyhoo... he just cleaned and cleaned on this truck and did the linseed oil on it. I don't think you could of found a whole coffee cup of dirt or rust or any mess on it when done. He dabbed some paint on the bolts on the heads on the engine, done the exhaust himself which was pipe he saved then cut and mig welded back together and then some mufflers off of a old car hide it all under the truck with two tail pipes that looked the same coming out the back. Once it was done.. it was may this year as he didn't have the strength of you Josh. He has never touched drugs or alcohol, never puffed on a cigarette yet he lost one lung and a kidney so has to be very careful. He called around to let people know it was going to be sold on a certain day and if your just coming to joke around, you will be escorted away... he is old and just doesn't have a sense of humor much anymore. Damn he was just meticulous as even the handles on the doors shined an the interior was so clean the air smelled good in it. But for real, it was bone stock except the tailpipes. People were standing there an he hollered out "Do I hear ten thousand dollars?" and before the words really cleared his mouth the bidding had hit twenty eight thousand... I thought wow, I guess thats the selling price. Well I guess that my guessing was way off as John started to say thank you all for coming an all the other crap... a guy in the back.... about a hundred people did show, says THIRTY THOUSAND real loud like his money will take it. The guy up front was first to come back and said forty thousand John... and then that guys wife said honey does it even run? so John starts it up and sounds the pipes a few times and then shut it off. As he stood up to finish what was being said, a older woman bid. She said that truck will come home with me today an her purse was full of hundred dollar bills. She says ya know real money talks an so she hollers fifty thousand dollars an John said right quick SOLD!!!!! That truck was not worth that kind of money but when rich people do collide.... the dollar bills start flying. It was on local news as well after words about a sale of the century

What a wonderful family!! The little girl is a scrubber!!! Like many other people say the family activity is the BEST part of the videos!! All the children are smiling out of true happiness!! That old Ford has never had it so good!! It really is a NICE old Ford!!! I started out watching your show for the car part but now I watch for the family part!! Keep them coming!!!

Another very satisfying to watch cleanup video. Those mirrors aren't off any particular vehicle. They were the cheapest modern looking mirrors you could get in the 80s.

What a difference! hard to believe it's the same truck. Shows you what a lot of elbow grease and a few bucks worth of cleaning supplies (plus a goat) can do, Also really enjoyed the family dynamic. Working together, having fun, and all making a contribution. You are building priceless memories for your children that they will remember all their lives---plus instilling character and values by example. Love your comments on the Crocs... "It's that TV, isn't it?". God bless you all!

Also I think that you are a little envious on the crock’s because you can’t find a pair with a bottle opener 😂
Nice family time spent in your videos

I have almost the same 52 sitting in the driveway, except it has the V-8. My dad got it from a framer in 1954, been in the family since then. Painted it several times and used it as a service truck at the service station from 1854 until we closed it in 1976. Great truck! yours looks fantastic.

I absolutely LOVE this truck!!! I wish I had the capabilities for repair/restore that you have. Just wasn't in the cards for me. However I'm able to "live vicariously" through you and thanks so much for that! You certainly have a gem in this truck!! It's amazing what a difference you've made in just using some elbow grease!!

I had a truck 🛻 just like that back in the late 70s. And I did the same thing. And used paneling for the headliner and door panels. Looked amazing back then. And still looks even more amazing seeing it on that beautiful looking truck. Things amazing looking. They will be amazed to see what not even how great its running but how amazing it looks. Great job to you all . And thanks for sharing.

Y’all just transformed this truck it’s really sharp 👍.
On where the horse dented the roof you may can try a little old school PDR on it lay down on the seat and press on underside of the roof with your flip flops on your feet and gently press on it to push the dent out might be worth a try.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching Y’all cleaning and shining up this F-1.
May Y’all have a Blessed One Sir.

Try some high gloss floor polish on those old vehicles, once it dries it won't collect dust like the linseed oil. Also, it's made to be walked on so you know it's tough and I bet it would look good too. All it takes is some ammonia to wash it off if you need to remove it.
