We are trying something in this video that we have never shown on the channel before although we have done in several times before we ever started videoing the process. We bought a 1977 Chrysler New Yorker Brougham with a 440 RB big block in it that has been parked for the last 19 years. We are going to try to get it running in the field it has been parked in and try to drive it home. Can we make it?

I worked at PEPBOYS when they had those 4 for $99 we sold soooo many 235/75/15 casings.......
You need that desiel heater for the camper from them best deal in town
I got a 750 Elderbrock you need to put on that hog leg!! Lol
It sounds like the inspection cover on the tranny is hitting the flywheel or there is a big nest in it.
Appreciate it but I've got a good 150 year old anvil that weight more than earth 😌
Ralphie puts a high percentage on these car running because he has faith in his dad and has seen them run time after time. Josh is a really good trouble shooter and mechanic. This is the best hour and a half of the day. Boy that car is going to clean up nice. Nice job family

Its fun to watch your whole family working on project cars that you save from the crusher. Cant wait to see this cleaned up.
Thank you coming soon
I would love to see you doing a complete series of this car being totally restored to its former glory. Now, that would be something.
When I was 19 I had a 54k original mile 78 New Yorker Brougham. She was black with the red leather, 4 door, and was pinstriped in red. Absolutely beautiful. I was forced to sell her due to money issues, and I always said I’d have another one. But, now I’m disabled and can’t afford to buy one. I still love working on my own stuff, even though I’m limited I still do it at my own pace. I sure wish that old girl was mine, I’d be 19 again, loving that old girl floating down the road. I really hope she gets restored! Too many have given up their power trains or been used in demo derbies. Good luck with her!
I have always loved these old barges. I have always wanted to get another one after I sold my 74 Newport, but like you, I am now disabled and can't afford to buy one, even though something like this one is literally what I actually NEED to get because of the ride quality due to having very severe back trouble. With how my back is, I literally can't ride in most cars and I can't go very far in most cars because of the stiff ride and newer cars are the worst.
Those seats look so comfy! Great job as always. I loved when you offered to do something for Wawa and she said"no I need to help". You and Tosh are raising them right!!!
Thank you
That car is a jewel. Can hardly wait until it runs and functions properly. Most of all when it's all cleaned up and ant 🐜 free!
Awesome video!! 👌
Great video as always from the sleepers. These old land yachts coming back to life is so satisfying, like raising a sunken cruise ship. They have such a sense of old world luxury that you never see anymore. I can't wait to see her get clean!
The two most things amazing things about this. The fact, this car ran and drove out of that field so easily and relatively trouble free. That's Mopar reliability right there! And has 2004 really been 19 years?! I was in grade 4 or 5 at that time. Man how the time flies! Great job and that's one of my dream cars!
That must be earlier than 2004. By 1996 already the New Yorkers were front wheel drive mid-sized cars shaped like a soap bar.
My favorite CZcams channel. From your time-lapse music to the vehicles you work on, there couldn't be more wholesome content. Love the land yacht!!
Thank you so much
@@Sleeperdude you are most welcome. This platform needs more content like yours.
Can't wait to see the clean up.
And the Rocky footage
I absolutely love the videos I love watching your family grow and I love that you guys are genuine and caring people. Keep up the incredible work
Thank you we appreciate it. We try our best
I love so much seeing WaWa being proud of her Dad. You all rib each other so much and have a great time while you work together, that's how it should be! Watching this proves the point of you doing everything possible to problem solve even after a roadblock with one system or another. When Josh, WaWa, and Ralphie were driving the car home, I was looking at that the cleanliness of the windshield. I wonder if you swabbed it and let that grow in a Petri dish how it would compare to swabbing "Grinch feet" and growing that in another dish. Which one would grow more bacteria. LOL! I can't believe Squeezie had her shoes off even over in the "bush" around the car. One of my sisters is still like that, she can't stand shoes. I can't wait until Squeezie is tall enough to reach the pedals, I think her opinions and ratings of the cleaned up and running cars will change. Once bitten, she'll be smitten! :) Thanks for the great video. We were out of town when this one dropped and I couldn't wait to get back home to watch! It was well worth the wait! Blessings!
Watching you with the whole family is priceless. You can not put a price tag on that!! God Bless brother!
Thank you I appreciate it
I am from Blount County. Noticed at the beginning someone called a wasper a wasper. It must be an Appalachian thing. I have been told the wasper is actually a wasp. I still call them waspers. It is refreshing to watch a video where the people in it talk like I do.
Yep it’s a local thing
A lot of people here in AR call them waspers.
I’m in North Ms and never heard wasper. I’ve heard waust.
@@JamesCouch777 , having been raised in AR, I can attest to this.
I'm in Scott Co Oneida TN, I would daily that car!!
Another wild adventure with a seemingly hopeless and long neglected car. Wawa and Ralphie once again rise to the occasion. Can’t wait to see how it looks all cleaned up.
Thank you!! Clean up coming soon
Great to see some channels still doing proper revivals without whining about how much they cost! Also the variety you offer on the channel is above a lot of the others! Respect ✊
Looks to be fairly rust free, this should clean up nicely. Gotta love these old battle ships😊
Always enjoyable, Josh, great content. And nice car! Great to see you bring Rocky, he’s quite a special critter. The kids are AMAZING…. all are intelligent, poised, and have a terrific sense of humor. A bunch of winners!
Awesome to see the big girl back on the road...she fought ya a little but in the end you got her home..looking forward to the clean up and next chapter on this adventure. As always truly appreciate you sharing your day with us. 😄😇
Thank you
Great job guys. You guys are awesome. That car is definitely a diamond in the rough. Can’t wait to see the clean up. Thank you and God bless!
Thank you
It ain't easy being squeezy! She is at the age now that a lot of stuff and peer issues are going on. Just be patient and guide and support her in the things that she finds interesting and challenging. Thank you for sharing your vids and life with us!
For a moment I thought you meant the goat.
@@matthewdavies2057 😂
Oh nice! We had one of these back in 85. Baby blue with the white Landau vinyl roof with dark blue Corinthian Pleather. Brings back lots of memories.
Nice
Mine was baby blue with a blue top and sun roof... I wish I had kept it.
That old chrysler has a lot of life left in it. Granted, you'll have to go a couple miles to get turned around, but it was fun watching you guys work on that beast!
Loved this video! I can’t wait for the cleanup. As much as I am disappointed in Chrysler’s current state, I think they meant well with lean burn. GM learned from them with the computer command control system. Great family!
Thank you. That’s true
I love the old land yachts. That one ran really well, and I think it will clean up really well. You can definitely get a good first wash video out of this one.
Nothing like a big old Chrysler boat to bring back to life. I owned a Fifth Avenue for a very long time that car may have been smaller than this one but It still floated down the road. I enjoyed watching your family working together to bring this beauty back to life. We need to see more of this car.
I had an elderly gentleman stop by my house about two weeks ago driving a late eighties Fifth Avenue trying to buy my 1989 Mercury Grand Marquis LS 50th Anniversary Edition sedan. It turns out he already owns one and likes to collect large American cars. Needless to say my Mercury is not for sale. Then he saw my two Ford Crown Victoria wagons ( 1987 and 1991 ) and really flipped out.
You never fail to impress with your automotive acumen. Awesome car, can't wait for the cleanup video.
Love me some Rocky cam!
Never fail to disappoint = always disappoint
@@suburban404 haha oh no, my bad!!!
Absolutely fantastic! Just what I remembered of big Ol' Yanks as we called those bedsteads back in the 50s and 60s, here in England! Can't wait for the cleaning of the inside and out... Love you all!
🤓
Thank you so much
Brilliant content!! I always watch them all as soon as it’s out lol love how the family is involved in everything 👌🏼 can’t wait for the clean up on this!! Don’t leave us waiting too long lol
Coming soon!!
Awesome video as always! Can’t wait to see the clean up!
Coming soon
Man, that interior is really going to clean up nice.....even the head liner is in good shape, not sagging like can happen on these.
Yes couldn’t believe it
Gotta admit, "Wawa" is awesome. She wants to get in there and learn and drive and do it all. She's amazing. I raise my glass to you, sir for raising some great kids!
the first 2 minutes of your videos are pure gold
Glad you like them
Wawa putting the smackdown on Fairmonts with the absolutely brutal observation at the end 😂😂You go girl!
🤣🤣🤣🤣
watching your videos remind me of my youth....my dad always taking us to remote places to buy cars
That’s awesome I grew up that way to
That car is awesome. Can't wait to see it cleaned up. And watching all you guys working on these cars as a family is so amazing. I really enjoy watching you guys.
Thank you I appreciate it. I am blessed
This car is a real trooper! If you ever need to use a jack in the dirt, try putting some cardboard under the jack first. The wheels may go through but the carboard will help keep the jack from sinking completely in to the dirt.
Yes!!
My wife and I really enjoy watching your show! We especially love that the entire family participates (including the aminals!!)
That car is the epitome of luxury of those days. What a great find, she'll clean up just fine 😁
I was amazed at how many ways an anvil can be used, definitely worth learning all about it!
Awesome rescue !! I’m definitely looking forward to see this beast come back to life !
I have to admit...... when ya said "it's wet" I gagged a lil bit 🤣
Josh, your chuckling while you were drubbing Big Bertha back to your house was AWESOME! Then the rats nests blowing outta the tailpipe was to funny - I drove a 78' Dodge Crestwood wagon big ole 8 w/4BC - 6 mpg good times! This episode brought back some real fun memories - thank you!! Looking forward to seeing this old gal cleaned up
That’s great glad you enjoyed it
Great save on the New Yorker! Bet it’ll clean up nice and get the “bugs” out! Love watching your videos! I like the way your whole family is involved. I couldn’t get the TV remote out of my sons hand!
I love those huge land yachts! I had a few back in the 80’s and early 90’s.
Character for sure
Thanks Tosh and Josh for your entertaining, fun loving videos. I’m happy you guys get to live this life, you seem well deserving of it. Your kids are going to benefit greatly from spending time with you and will learn to be more self reliant. Kids need to learn real life skills and yours seem to get that and more from you guys. Thanks for sharing with us.👍👍🇨🇦
The drive it home revival was cool. What a find! Can't wait to see how this one cleans up. I hope it cleans up good and becomes a luxury cruiser for you guys.
You all are the best CZcams family and car channel around! I loved when WaWa was talking about abandoned houses and she said, "we're not going to talk about that!" LOL. Yeah, Wawa, how many abandoned houses have you been in...LOL. I really enjoy the fun and banter that your family all takes part in. And I loved the Rocky Cam! It was fun to see life from Rocky's perspective. And Ralphie's "Jesus Take the Wheel!" was awesome! Have a very blessed weekend Sleeperdude Family!
This is great, usually families watch TV together or go to the movies or go to the beach. This family finds an old car and fixes it up and drives it home, and the kids love it😊
Another awesome video! What a great family! You have so much knowledge with all you do and you passing that down to your kids, A+ Brad!!! Thanks again Sleeperdude!
Thank you
Big fan here up in Canada eh! : ) love this show and the family. Happy to view it all till the cows come home..and then some. : ) educational and absolutely entertaining. Keep em comin eh! : )
Take off eh😂
Best content creator out there! Every episode is like getting to know y’all a little more. Awesome stuff every time. Keep on keeping on!
Thank you so much
The moment when the Wasper buzzed by WaWa`s head and she leaped of off the fender and started running waving her hands in the air, i call that, THE WAWA DANCE. i laughed so hard when she did that.
That’s funny I will tell her
I have seen many, "will it run" videos, but i have to say, you are the Master of them all. I just keep smiling many times during the video... I am so happy i found your channel..Complete fun...
Greetings from Blount County. My parents bought a 1976 version of this New Yorker brand new. The seats were the most comfortable ones I ever sat on back in the day. In typical Chrysler fashion, the car was riddled with problems, and the final straw for my dad was when something broke in the right front suspension and the tire and wheel just laid down on it's side.
Plus one for the chainsaw display with shorts and flip flops!
What a cool story. Thank you
Brougham!!!! Brawwwwwwwmmmmmm! Road Sofa! Wait, what... lichen?!? Happy Snail!
Exactly
You're fine. Love watching you take something from nothing and turning it into a custom driver myself. Being a custom builder, I know first hand the work and endless hours that go into what you're doing working till you drop, can't see straight, and add recording to the mix. God bless you
Wawa is such a boss. Jumps right in it despite the smell to help Dad get it started and then drives it around with the ant colony dropping its members on her. Your family rocks Josh 👍
Can't wait to see how this one cleans up, especially that interior
Awesome thanks
Thank you for the vid, it couldn’t have come at a better time. I really need some happiness in my life right now.
I’m glad we could help. Hope you have a good weekend
This car hits close to home. Grandpa had a 76 and loved it. Took really good care of it. And we went everywhere in it.
Mopar starters and Thermoquads. Sounds like every other 70s Mopar I grew up with, but they always started up. Always love watching you & your family wrenching, great way to relax after stressful work days.
A mopar will never disappoint :)❤
Can’t wait to watch another amazing video!
Thank you for your support
Another awesome video from the sleeperdude gang. It's great that you got the car running and driveable. My husband loves this car. This is luxury for you. Keep bringing more videos because you are our favorite you tube channel. My husband introduced me to your channel 6 months ago.
Great Kids...Great Parents...nice to see a family working and playing together! A true american family thank you for sharing with the rest of us!
totally can't wait to watch this, I own two of these! Green and Silver! Great Cars!
Awesome thanks
Josh, I run T-4 in all big blocks. NEVER had an internal issue. If older, I do add more zink.I can't wait for the clean up video!
Very cool having the whole family involved. Thanks for sharing.
love this video! so glad you're entire family joined you! i look forward to seeing more on everything
Thank you
What a gem! If I could I'd have something like this beauty for a goin' ta town car.
Yes!!!
That lean burn systems going to need the vacuum stuff for it to work correctly or you won't have any vacuum advance. Best way to defeat that is to ditch that distributor and buy a 1-wire HEI distributor and do away with the lean burn
Ok thank you for the info
Great video love the old parade floats I've had a few over the last 50 years keep up the great work and mostly Spend as much time as you can with those beautiful children . I have a 35 yr old son and our best memories are fixing old cars and trucks . Blessings
Awesome thank you
Man this was definitely worth watching. The entire 1:26 minutes was mind blowing how you took this land yacht and revived her. I currently have a 73 that I’m planning on getting back on the road. I purchased it from the previous owner and he let it sit up for 5yrs or so. Keep the great content coming guys. I will be surely looking forward to more great videos
What my dad used to say about Chryslers: "I'll drive what the cops drive if I'm not driving a Cadillac."
There ya go
That my friend is a land yacht! Great stuff family. 👏
For sure
What a cool car I'm looking forward to the clean up video. The trailers with the one liners are always great. Love the video but I have to say I'm impressed with the automotive knowledge Josh has and is mechanical ability. Thankful for the great entertainment. Thanks for sharing and God bless
Thanks Man ! The comments from the public were a Crack Up . Total respect for the old Daytona ! Shows age but looks & drives like the sleeper it is .
So I just got started on the video, and I can see this one's going to be a lot of fun to watch. I have to say, despite the pong, the interior looks remarkably good, with very few tears on the "furniture" so to speak lol. In fact I'm almost shocked that it lasted this long without some of God's critters making it a hotel and partying like rock stars haha.
To that end, I really hope you guys will give it a really good restoration as she is a grand old lady that deserves a loving revival.
Nuther great video Josh/Tosh and fam. Hits close to home as I have a '75 New Yorker. Mines a post sedan with the 400. Don't drive it much anymore, will probably donate it's power train to another project someday, but she has plenty of power and drives like a dream. Love your channel and wish nothing but the best for the Sleeperdude family. 👍
So funny you mentioned the 99 dollar deal at pep boys...I was driving a 1977 Chrysler Newport and that was the first set of tires I ever bought...My first vehicle. I am in awe with this episode...I am a Mopar "C" body fan, and have been waiting for this forever...Thank you for saving this beast.
I just love the goats they're so cute ❤
Thank you
your supposed to tap a hammer on the top of the anvil to check the tune of it and it will also tell you if there is cracks or rust
Exactly
My dad had a 72 Newport Royal in 76. Busted his butt getting it done by the end of August for our wedding so we could drive it on our honeymoon. It was a 2 door. He even tubbed out the wheel wells to get the big tires in. Air shocks and all. Needless to say, we had a great time driving it.
As a daily driver of a similar Buick 'Land Yacht,' I approve of this video.
That’s awesome
My recommendations, be easy on it until you change the timing chain, it may very well have the nylon tooth gears still, replace the lean burn system with something more stable like the GM ignition system, or even the older Chrysler ignition system ( There is a wiring diagram on the internet to switch them over, I did mine) You will find an improvement in response and power, you also have to replace the distributor with one that has the vacuum advance. Note: never open the 4 barrel on a free rev, Chrysler cams are soft, and can round off the cam lobes. Most of these had the high performance model 440's in them, they were labeled 440 Super Commando, which wasn't highly impressive since these were smog era cars. Most all still had catalytic converters even with the lean burn system. The Thermoquad you have there should be specific to the 440, they had larger secondaries than the standard Thermoquad.
England 🇬🇧 checking in
That’s awesome thank you
Love the Rocky cam!! This vid brought back my memories of taking drivers education. I learned to drive in a 1975 Chrysler Newport Custom!
Wow, what a great video. This is one of best channels to watch. You've got a great family that loves to chip in and help, even Rocky. This tank I mean car is going to clean up very nice. Keep them videos coming and I'll keep watching...❤❤
Awesome thank you
Wawa you and your mom got me laughing running from 🐜 ants!! Josh those 440 in early days 70 are hog legs. Everyone y'all did great job getting it running . Josh on spark plugs I still use rubber hose trick.
Thank you
Sweet ride. I'm suprised it has so little rust!
Great start on the old Chrysler. Had lots of support! They were behind you all the way. Thanks for sharing! 💯👊👍
Outstanding! Rocky-vision,a 440! And the smiles! Love this beast! Congratulations on a revive and drive!
Love your videos awesome Content
Thank you
Goat action! Side note: I was told it's not always easy when you're the best, is this true?
That’s funny
So, that's a yes?
On an overcast Sunday afternoon....that was 90 minutes of awesome content
That Brougham is absolutely fantastic
Can you imagine driving that thing for 100s of miles
Wish we could have cars like that here in the UK 🇬🇧🇺🇸
I crash tested this car, a 2 Door, in 1986 when a SemiTruck came across the highway and hit me head on. I walked away. It put the Battery on the Dashboard! The Seat came out of the floor and slammed into the dash. UniBody! Thanks Chrysler.
Wow that’s crazy
👏🏾👏🏾 WOOOOOOOO!!!
I would go ballistic if that goat jump on my car
🤣
Amazing gem, thank goodness they are still out there, thank you for saving another my brother.
Awesome video. Love the old Chryslers. I had a ‘71 New Yorker many years ago. Your video brought back some good memories 👍🏻
