@Haxterz Low budget or small dev team is not an excuse. Wreckfest is a good example of this. They launched a crowdfunding campaign to get the starting budget they needed, launched in Early Access, had admittedly a rocky and slow development cycle, gained enough attention to get a publisher behind the game in the final stages and got out of early access with an excellent spiritual successor to Flatout. All this with under 20 employees.

The PC version of this is worse because there are no leaderboards. Why? Because the Epic Games Store doesn't support that feature.

The rubberbanding is insane holy shit. They are super slow when infront and super fast when behind. Even if you use nitrous for half a minute straight.

@@snowcrash512 I played burnout paradise and I dont remember the rubber banding being so terrible there. Nowadays I've been more into PC2 and Dirty Rally 2 so maybe those games are just influencing how I remember it.

While the algorithm is not perfect and everything, it does pretty good job at filtering games you don't want out. The only reason I'm even aware of Digital Homicide is because I watched Jim Sterling videos. I have never ever seen terrible games Jim covers on store front or in my discovery or recommended list or anywhere. It's amazing you think less games and less choice is somehow good thing. It's amazing you need the overlords at Epic to decide for you what games are worthy to spend your money on.

The game was made by a 7 member team, they are ex Criterion developers that worked on the Burnout games. DD is meant to be the modern day Burnout 3, hence why it’s menus are so simple. It still needs a lot of polishing though but personally, it’s far from the worst of the year (imo).
Impressive for seven people but they clearly needed more hands on this game!

Was searching for this comment. You can even change the volume to match the game from the home button. Been using Spotify on rocket league for years
@@pygmalion0451 obviously but it's still unnecessary when you can use Spotify beside any game on the system. You can turn down in game volume and/or adjust Spotify volume to match. It's an unnecessary addition for anyone playing on PS4. I can't speak for the Xbox users
@@pygmalion0451 with your phone linked to Spotify you can adjust the music from your phone and it will adjust it on the PS4 simultaneously. It's actually extremely convenient. Besides that my system never crashes on me.

Some People of the original criterion games were working on dangerous driving. Their budget was limited and i can appreciate that they try to revive the burnout series again.

I'm a big fan of the Burnout Franchise, and I've been waiting years for another one, it's the only arcade racing series I truly enjoy.
I did my research, and these devs fought hard to keep what they had and break away from EA who still owns the official license, and just like Star Wars, they barely do Jack shit with it.
This is the only way the Burnout games can live again without being called Burnout.
Because you know if EA brings it back with the current shitty team with Criterion, it's just gonna be a rehash of all the shitty NFS games with the Burnout Name on it, and that's just disgraceful this even think of.

Im happy to not buy this game since its on Epic Games Store AND its very underwhelming, especially after playing Danger Zone 1 & 2 that run on the same exact game engine.........Was hoping for a major comeback for "Burnout."

Having a small dev team or even being a single person of course means you won't get a AAA title. But that doesn't mean you can't make a good game. Just like how hardware limitations cannot limit the quality of your game.
I watched "search for the worst" channel yesterday and he says about movies something that is true for everything "it's not because you can make x that if it's to make shit you should"
But budget can. They were given a stupidly small budget for this game. It doesn't excuse that it came out bad, but budget truly does limit a game. Their budget here was so small that they had to put Spotify in because they couldn't license any tracks at all.
Problem is that nobody seems to read up or follow games and processes like this. A dev team or 12 people, without a budget, licensing limitations and an inability to even use assets they already created does this.

@@sleightlyhandy889 budget of course puts a limit just like hardware limitations. You can't do triple A graphics with a tiny budget. But you can ALWAYS make a great game. If you don't have a high budget, you don't go for Story heavy 3D animated and voiced cutscenes or realistic graphics for example. Things like that. That's what being a good game designer is. Making a game that works with what you have. Every game can be a 10/10. Retro games were an absolute nightmare to make. But that difficulty is what pushed and trained the devs to get out every single last drop of potential out of what they had in their hands both in budget and technology.
