My cat's favorite toy is whatever's currently dangerously close to the edge of the table.
Cherrycordial omg yes XD
Lol
Same
My kitten done this last night lol
Lol
I volunteer at a shelter and foster kittens. We're thinking about doing a little cat toy craft party!
So fun! Feel free to use this video!
See if anyone has any odd or old, holy socks...they're great for transforming into cat toys ^-^
Thx for helping the community.♥️
I wonder if you could do an event with different tables with different skill levels. You could ask your community to donate and then set a date for people to bring their children to make toys and then give them to the cats/kittens in your shelter. That way, the kids/ volunteers see the benefits of their work, and people may fall in love with a little cat to bring home!
Just a thought. 😊
That's cute
For the fleece “spider” I found that you can also tie the strips onto a hair band😊
thank you for this!!
I used shower curtain rings from dollar tree! Works great
That would be good for the hair bands that are having the rubber showing
Very helpful. Thanks! Just made my first one with some quilting scraps and a hairtie!
Those are perfect, since they're lightweight.
This is such a positive and productive way to recycle as well as make kittens happier! Kitten Lady you are AMAZING!
Me: buys 20$ worth of cat toys. "Even if they don't play with them they will like the boxes"
My cats: plays with my old socks in the corner.
Me: "....really guys?"
We buy all these "cool" toys for them for Christmas and they'd rather play with the boxes/wrapping paper! You can tell the "kids" run our house, we have a toilet box in our living room from redoing our bathroom almost THREE years ago! We say we're gonna throw it away but see one of them playing in it and decide to keep it another week. 🙄🙄
@@marshayelton9783 LMAO

Bruh i bought my cat a really expensive toy and it never played with it so i gave it to my friends dog and he loved it
You: *am i a joke to you?*
This would be an awesome activity for kids at a shelter event as well as a great project for kids stuck in the house on a rainy/cold day.
Rainy/cold//YOUR PERENTS DONT LET U OUTSIDE! 😤😖
Love Yiddish Mackie
XD DID U GET IT?!?!
Or stuck in quarantine
This just made me imagine the kids later taking it to the cats and playing with them with the toys they made

For the fleece spider, you can also use that ring from a milk carton!! I volunteer at an animal shelter and collect them, so whenever I thrift my clothes, I use the extra fabric to tie around the milk rings. Works just the same as the wooden rings :3
Any kind of fabrics can also be use for the spider toy? Or is there any other recommendation besides the fleece fabric?
@@MinaFats i used a ripped shirt and a key ring, it worked great
I'm 13 and I volunteer at my local humane society and i also foster kitten! I'm now my humane societies mane foster mom. Thanks to you I've saved 17 kittens!
I made the mistake of hiding s cat toy in a dresser drawer. My kitty now opens all the drawers and removes clothing looking for his toys.
camia fiscus lollll
Dang!! They are so smart! I wouldn't be surprised if they figured out how to open childlocks on a drawer.
I have 2 cats at home, theu're about 14 years apart and obviously have very different regimen so I had to seperate them during their meals. The younger one learnt to open doors by the time he was 7 months old. Fun times... ^^; Now I can't even take a shower alone in a warm closed room, he will open the door to find me! :D
Cat is a smartes animal than human being
They are so cute friendly adorable and playing :)
I made all of the cat toys and brought them to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society in upstate New York!! Thank you SO much Hannah!!!!!!!
Emily Sagendorph I love that place!
Emily Sagendorph Ahh awesome job!
Emily Sagendorph n
I am 100th like
That's awesome Emily! Your a good person
Love love love all these. Thanks for sharing. 🐱💖
I found little kitten that just walked in my garage and i named him fishstick and i love him so much you helped me take care of him
How’s Fishstick doing??
I've been making the ping pong ball ones for ages, they seem to be the biggest hit at the shelter with the kittens. My cats love them as well.
My cats favorite home-made cat toy is fabric bouncy balls. They are super cheap and easy to make, it just involves basic sewing.
*Step one:* Get some bouncy balls, not too big but not too small either. You don't want them to swallow it but it also has to fit in the finger tip of a glove. Approximately the size of a ping pong ball. (You could also use a ping pong ball but my cat personally likes heavier toys)
*Step two:* Get some fabric gloves.
*Step three:* Put the bouncy balls in the fingers of the gloves. Push the ball all the way to finger tip.
*Step four:* Sew the ball securely in the finger tip.
*Step five:* Cut the sewn ball off the glove.
That's it! My cat adores these balls. They're safe and easy to make. You can get a pack of 5 balls and a pair of gloves at the store for about 2 dollars. My cat will walk around with them in his mouth and drop them down the stairs to chase them. They're great shelter toys too because you can make a lot of them cheaply.
Great idea!
Or basic hot glue skills. And nylon gloves😐😂
@@insertaccountnamehere6043 I think a fabric glue would work better and only costs a couple dollars for a good one.
Thank you!
And as a bonus you get fingerless gloves!
My mom and I have been making cat beds for our local cal shelter! Thank you Hannah for all the inspiration! 🐯🐱🐆🐈
I love how they go all out for their cats, and dig a bunch of toys. My cat's favorite toy is a string or fabric...
smart idea, i am fostering 5 baby kittens right now and it is a struggle to keep them entertained and this really helped ❤️
That's good
Me 8 cats
@@somayajoseph4769 Ya know, she/he might be an adult moved out.
I have 3 cats but I’m not fostering them ❤️ I would love to foster cats, but it’d be hard to let them go
I have to take care of a cat that was left in my downstairs by our people paying rent or whatever :[ First day with her lol
*Tip*
For the “spider” toy if you don’t have a wooden or plastic ring your could use a pipe cleaner♥️
That's exactly what I do. I just double them up and twist them into a mini wire rod and twist different sizes on it for a centipede or spider or anything they like. The cats will let you know what the like!
Craig Mad Bricky yeah!!!♥️
Or cardboard!
I cut a circle out of cardboard x
Or the ring from the mouths of plastic jugs/bottles!
LOVE these ideas! So simple and yet so effective!
Also, when tying the felt spider legs, coming from a fisherman's wife, if you fold left over right on the first knot, then you should fold right over left on the second knot. Much more secure.
I'm totally making the felt spider for my Cosmo! He will love it!
Yes, that is a square knot. More secure than a granny knot.
Thank you for sharing the knot information. Not only will I use it on the cat toys, but I also knit and crochet, so it will be helpful there too. :)
My cat loves a paper ball, an aluminum foil ball, elastic head band from Dollar Tree (5 for $1).
The plastic end of a shoelace is called an aglet. And as you were shaking the rice-ping-pong ball, my rescue son came up to the computer to investigate.
I was wondering if anyone would say something about the aglet in the comments xD the phineas and ferb generation all know what it's called xD
@@lindawithsharks yes we do
I came for kitty crafts and found Disney fans! Lol I love it!
@@lindawithsharks - Also, people who create historical clothing and/or do re-enacting can apply their own aglets onto lacings.
Aww so sweet
These cat toys are so cute!! The pizza boys reaction was adorable!
?
I got so inspired by your toys that I made several for my local shelter here in Munich, Germany. One thing I changed was with the pipe cleaners: even after bending the ends back and twisting them in, the sharp wires still stuck me, so I wrapped them with non-toxic children's craft tape just to be safe.
The kittens are Sooooo cute
I remember that I used to bottle feed my cat every day and she was so small! And my big brother didn't care for his cat so I bottle fed his as well. I love both of them so much!
So his was a bottle baby yet he never fed it? What a dick.
Yeah, my brother has a cat that always want to come in his room but he always closes the door when he wants to get in.
@@theworldaccordingtoreese8596 Awe. But how old r u and why is he so heartless and how did u get them. I have so many questions xD
@Justine Faith Padpad umm I didn't ask for that... But thanks!...Er I guess..
Khadiga Ragab: oh, it's just because he doesn't want fur all over his stuff. Also they always break something
This is such a great video. My 5 year old niece loves watching your kitten videos with me and I know she'll love this one just as much and will be eager to get started on toys for her local shelter right away. Thank you! 💕
That's awesome! I definitely plan to make more videos for kids in the future. :)
@@KittenLadyno lmk
For the Fleece spiders, you can also use lids from various plastic containers that you cut the top out of, such as a pringles can or yogurt/sour cream container
Great idea, thank you Sandy!😸
My son is SO excited to bring toys to our shelter. Thanks for the how to.
I wouldn't trust my kitten with pipe cleaner springs, I can just imagine her catching the folded bit with a tooth and unfolding it, then getting jabbed in the gums =( Yep, I'm one of those super cautious cat mamas...
Edit: P.S. My kitten just turned her sleepy head towards the rattle ball noise...I think I need to make her some ^-^'
Not if you fold and twist. But it do worry about the shedding fibres of the pipe cleaner that kitties might swallow while playing. I think that it would better to run it through your palm until there is no loose fibres and then swirl it into a toy.
i’m not making that one either, just super cautious. my cat recently had his leg amputated and i want him to feel better :(
My thoughts exactly I don’t like using pipe cleaners because they have wires in them and your cat could get hurt
Amy
Or poked in the eye
Put tape on it??? Idk if that would work but, just a suggestion
Me and my niece will definitely be making some toys for our cats together !💘
When I was a foster mom I liked to start with fresh new toys with each foster... these would have been perfect !
We always reuse our cardboard soda boxes as tunnels or just hiding boxes for our cat! We tear off the ends. She loves going through them or hiding inside!
I made the toilet roll spider. I filled it with cat biscuits then wrapped it up in wrapping paper for my cat to open on christmas.
That's cute & fun!
I'm actually here for ideas for my cats' stocking! 😊
You're the best ❤️ great idea thanks!
My cat goes ape for springs. I bought a pack off Amazon for a buck when she was a kitten and now she is gaga for anything corkscrew shaped. She'l even drag my son's slinky around the house.
t hat sounds so cute
Oh my goodness this video came in clutch!! I overload on toys for my baby cause I love for him to have variety. I'm definitely going to go overboard making toys for him now. Thanks ladies. 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
My cat loves hiding behind blanket-covered chairs and pouncing out at people from under it.
That's his favorite game. THat's it. That's all he likes to do.
Aww that reminds me of a kitten I used to have. She would always hide under the bed and pounce at our feet. Her last name was Snickers because of it XD.
Sadly she just ventured off out of no where someday

Lovely job ladies. I could see a Brownie Scout Troop do this as a service project. If you needed to buy any thing for these projects most Dollar Trees or 99 Cent Only stores would have what you don't. I like all of them the ping pong balls are very cute. Great instructions too very easy to see and fellow. 👍 😺 Hope all had a Happy Thanksgiving.
What?🤔
@Justine Faith Padpad I'm sorry I think this is not a message for me I'm confused.
So much yes to 99 Cent stores!
Justine Faith Padpad what??
The funny thing is im actully a brownie girl scout XD
I have guinea pigs and I use a lot of fleece for their bedding and always have little scraps hanging around that I just end up throwing out.... now I can make the little fleece spider rings with my scraps. Honestly a really awesome idea I had never thought of and I can't wait to start making some soon!
You can also take them and tie them on a rod and put it up in guinea pig cages. They love walking through it and it can be a good way to provided a sense of security to an area of the cage
I really enjoy reading all the ideas everyone has on different toys or ways to use fabric for their pets. Thanks everyone😺
I have used the thick ponytail holders as my ring (in place of the hard plastic or wooden rings) then wrap the felt scrap and tie knots. I will be making more as well as the balls . I take toys and scrap blankets to our vets office for the kitties or doggies .
I volunteer with Madison Cat Project in Madison, WI. We sometimes receive donated fleece blankets and toys made of pipe cleaners that aren't really useful as received (too small, not washable, ends left sharp, etc). I love that with a little effort, we can make these well-intended donations into something really useful, safe and fun!
00.05 Jumbo sliding down the ramp into DD had me rolling. 😂

Awww! I’m definitely gonna make these! Love your channel!
I’m getting my kitty bandit either today or tomorrow and I’ve been binging on all of your videos🥺 she’s 12 weeks old and previously had a breathing problem but she’s about to finally go to her furever home❤️
I love that you are encouraging kids to get engaged with making shelter toys.
Purrrtastic ideas! My girls & I will be make all them & take pictures ( post them to you Hanna) then being them to local shelters! 😻😻😻 Happy PurrDays
Please do share photos!
Hi kitten lady I've watched you videos for years but this is the most like my already owned cats cuz they LOVE 💘 toys 😊
Dollar store ping pong balls would be great. They don't have to be actual sports balls!
Yep, that's where I get mine!!
Anything from the dollar store is TOXIC buy balls that are made in the USA not China
@@jewelcool9917 Remarkably, there is still a factory that makes custom ping pong balls in the U.S. which they personalize. However, cats might not value this feature.
While some items from the dollar store are inferior or suspect, I read an article about ping pong balls, and they're made of cellulose (phasing out except by professionals) or plastic. They either have a seam, or they don't. Also a matter of concern only to great players, not cats. So the dollar store balls will probably be fine for the cats unless one is a professional ping pong playing cat. There's no reason that they would be toxic only less expensive.
If your concern is a general trade war Chinese boycott, that's a different matter.
I’m sitting here hand sewing mice for shelter cats and my cat is trying to steal them
Rainy day, perfect for making my kitten toys! I’m getting him/her tomorrow.
Thanks! 🌼 😻
I was making them with you as you went along for my 2 cats for Christmas, then I will make more for 2 shelters we have here. Thank you for the great ideas.
Great craft to do with my youngest.
I joined a few large pipe cleaners together and then wrapped them around a dowel and it made a giant
Corkscrew toy, my cats love it. Also made a few pipe cleaners joined together but kept them straight and my cat
Loved chasing it
Recently adopted a rescue kitten and he ADORES the pipe cleaner twirls. If I hadnt seen this video he would have never discovered his love for them! Who would have thought pipe cleaners twirled up make such a fun kitten toy!!
❤aaah❤
My sister and I are going to make a bunch of these toys this Christmas season, and donate them to our local shelter along with some blankets! 💕🐱
This video reminds me of the time that my siblings and I made fleece catnip mouses with my aunt. They were so fun to make and we got to take them to several shelters in Salt Lake City.
Dragons Fly that’s so cool!
These are so creative! I’m going to make some of each!
The ping pong balls were the best. Would really love to see how the fleece pad/bed at 1:47 was made.
Hey Hannah. Such a cute video. I made some of the pipecleaner toys for my kittens and the toilet paper roll toys. They loved them!!!!. I'll have to try making the ping pong ball ones for them next. Love watching your videos.
i build the toilet paper one for my 3 year old cat and she is going wild on it :D
that's awesome!
thank you!
I am a foster kitten mom and have brought many litters into my home to love, heal, socialize or whatever they need until they are ready for their forever home. Cheap toys are a must because unless we can bleach it or wash in hot water, they need to be thrown away between litters. I love these ideas and am going to try them all. They are all so different and each little personality likes a different kind of toy. Love this. Thank you!!
Adorable! My cats will LOVE these! Thank you sooo much!
I like entertaining kittens more than anything!
For me, my cats LOVE to tear apart my hair ties so I got some hot glue and 4 hair ties. I hot glued them into a ball and they both love it so much and I'm happy because my hair ties can live!
I made the spider one for my kittens and they love it!
I took yarn and tied it around the ring, then I attached it to the ceiling. My kittens play with it all day!
Just a word of caution, a hanging toy should always be used with supervision. A cat can easily get a tail, leg or neck caught.
Wonderful! Great ideas, they look awesome! Thank you two! 🎊🎊❤️ My favourite one is the balls, indeed, the sound is cool for the cats 😂🐱
Yay!!!!! I love this so much! Thank you! ❤️ I can’t wait to get started!
Awesome! Let me know what you make!
I have 9 cats inside and two outside yard bosses... I’m going to be busy! They’ve managed to wear out most of their toys, so your video was such a breath of fresh air... fun and easy stuff that the cats will enjoy for sure! These toys all look like win-wins to me... I know my kitties and they’re going to love them! I will let ya know how it went 👍 thanks, again!
My cats are happy with just the string swinging in the air by itself. 😂
I made the first one,the ping pong one, and the last one! Our kitten loved it
❤
I've found out my new kitten loves my failed crochet projects! I make sure the ends are knotted off so it wont unwind and he moves pawing and chewing them. (I use baby yarn that is super soft and gentle)
😂❤🎉
Me and my mom will sit down and make some and then hopefully take some down to the animal shelter. Thank you so much!!!! You have inspired me so much and I’m only 12!!! I have successfully talked my mom into fostering kittens and puppies. Once we move we will sign up!!!
I made my cat a shaker ball and the pipe cleaner toy AND HE LOVES IT
😂❤
And another great and fun toy my cats love is the Easter egg ball. You take an Easter egg left over from Easter and you open it and take a marble and then you lose the egg and you can then decorate it with tape or ribbon and then you’re cat can play with it all they want!
Thank you for this cute informative video! Can't wait to make toys for the shelter cats and mine!
I used to have loads of pipe cleaners in a craft box I had, I left it out one day and when I came back from school they were all over the floor. To this day my cat still plays with those pipe cleaners, he likes to keep them near his food.
I am a person my late cat would keep hers inside the bowl lol
😂🥰
Thanks for this! I’m sharing it with my friend shes 11 and she has a tiny white kitten named iris. She already made iris a toy with stuff from her home but iris broke it 😁
This is great for her I’m liking and sharing it with my friend
❤
My granddaughter scheduled me for craft day to make cat toys. These are perfect! Thank you young ladies for saving my day!
During quarantine this is a great activity for lots of people who are bored and want to help the local shelters. Thanks so much! 😸😺
Thank you so much for mentioning that wand toys should only be used with supervision. The other volunteers used to think I was the meanest foster mom because I took the wand toys out of the kitten cages every time I saw them in there. I think they thought I was overreacting.
Then one day a volunteer was panicking because a kitten had one wrapped so tight around its neck they could not get it off. I grabbed the kitten and ran down to the surgery suite for bandage scissors and the vet tech and I were able to safely cut it off before the kitten was injured but it was close.
These are so cool I'm definitely going to make these. My kitten will also love these. I've loved you channel for so long and I know I'm not early. But I hope you know how much of an inpact you've had on my life. You've helped me learn do much about my bottle baby's and how yo care for them. With you the world is a better place!
Your channel is new to me. This presentation was priceless! You ladies really got the message out in a way that was genuine, fun, and so true. It was captivating, the way those toys came to life when you made them. Thank you for this.
Cool! I have a couple cats and will definitely make these toys for them! I also want to donate some to my local humane society!
I made that flying one for my white cat(lily).., was making in front of only..while i was making the toy she was very curious and was playing already..she is enjoying the toy very much..
Xoxo
Thanks kitten lady!
❤
My cats when ever I make them a toy they look at me and are thinking “whoa! You made something!” ~sarcastic clap~
My cat use to love hairties, but because they were dangerous for him since he liked to eat them--I would make rings out of pipe cleaners that he went nuts over. I also use to crochet him simple toys with a long braid string and a finger loop. This way I could throw it, move it, and bring it back afterwards for him. He always loved the toys I made for him over anything I bought for him. My boy passed away this past Saturday after 18 years, I miss him so much so I've been binging these videos to help.
❤
One of the best toys I ever made for my cat was to comb her and then ball up the fur that comes off into as tight a little ball as I can. All cats think those toys and incredibly fun and they come from something I have to do anyway, which is comb them so they don't get clumps. Even the dog like the cat fur ball toys.
Omg! I've just made two of these as I've watched and it's delightful watching my kitten play with them! Also a great way to help my 6 year old daughter bond with the kitten {she is so scared of her!)
I'm going to make some with my daughter for the kittens we're fostering for the Ottawa Humane Society!
These are great ! I am a crafter and have so much of these supplies. I will be making tons of cat toys for the shelters now ! Thank you
My girl will love to make some of these for our adopted kitty. Wish I had seen this for our 4H kiddos before they took their donations to our local shelter. The younger kids will love this.
Thank you. I’ve wanted to make one of these for a while. Now I can make many
Fabulous ideas. I particularly love the ping pong ball toy. We are going to make some and take them to our local shelter. Thank you so much for sharing.
In the rodent thing, I put pom Pom balls all around mine! The cats love them!!!!!!!! THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO!
2:16 Wow!!!!! Look at the black cat's paws popping out when she wants to catch in in slo mo
cooooool!!
Hi Hannah! I made alot of the pipe cleaner spiral toys and I'm going to give them away to the SPCA in my area!
Hey. Now that your Kitten Room is all set, would it be possible to get a live stream? I know there's another channel here that does that, but to see your small, fluffy babies would be awesome.
I’m so exited for my cat to enjoy fun of cat toys :)
Succes!! Meh cat loves them
These are great ideas! My kitttens love the toys I made for them!
Basicly what cat lovers do
• have a shirt that says future cat lady and has cats all over it like me
• when theres no cat shirts in your closet theres nothing to wear •
Your bedsheets , blankets , walls , pillows and cup have cats all over them like me
• you draw cats all the time
• you do evrything with your cat
This vid is really great, I took in three kittens a week ago for my three teenage daughters, and toys can get expensive. Thank you for sharing.
Something the humane society I foster for has(Central Oklahoma Humane Society) is just simply 3 strands of fleece braided together that are about 1-2 feet long. They can hang these from the tops of the wire cages and kittens LOVE them! Plus, it’s super easy to use to play with the kitten without opening the cage if you don’t necessarily want to(ie when I’m dropping a kitten off or just saying hi to all the babies!)
I have fostered 10 kittens so far and all of them have loved the pipe cleaner and they always go home with one
