Great vid! Didn't even know the air compressor was there until watching this. Yep our DD15's air compressor leaking coolant. Dripping coolant from the o-ring seal. Thing is awhile back governor was shot and pressure was building up over 150psi until it went out. Well TA's and freightliner shops suck. Everytime they touch our truck, new issues arise smh. men you should change unloader valve O-rings in air compressor too while compressor was out . very good video !!! I see the odometer was showing more than 1 million miles. I would put new air compressor on engine for sure.

It is located on top of the compressor. The cover of it looks like a almond.
Definitely change unloader valve seals. Because its such a pain to get to when installed.
I have replaced a few compressors on dd13 without removing fuel pump if that's the only problem. You just gave to put your face on the side of the frame and look cross eyed tosee the top/ back bolt. Remove P/S reservoir and pump.
You make it look so easy,a friend's DD15 fuel pump went out,it will cost him 5 thousand.
Wow 5 grand huh?? ...I just replaced my fuel pump myself a couple of weeks ago ...in all I spent about $2000. Fuel pump was $1600 after core return and around $300 on miscellaneous hoses, gaskets and other stuff it required

I replaced the whole pump ..and now it does almost the same thing but only when at low rpm or when I start the truck after 2 days. I be looking forward to hear from Francisco...I been following you for a few years and you are my first reference...God bless.

Francisco what about if only air compressor needs to be replaced. is it easy to get to the rear bolt ? after removing bolts , hoses and power steering pump is it coming out easy? just pull forward and bring compressor down ?
I will always recommend to remove and replace the fuel pump seal if you need to replace the air compressor only. Anyway, you can remove the air compressor only.
To remove the air compressor you have to remove the transmission cooler lines and the power steering pump, to remove all this you have to be underneath the area where the compressor is located and then remove the bolts. You have very limited space to remove and install the compressor, so you will need to remove any component that is on the way of the compressor so you can have enough room to work.

The gear and eyebrow plate? The engine is 3 filter setup manufactured September 2010. Thank you and best regards.
You can use the same gear, the pin is the new style of guide for the gear of the pump.
You can torque the timing plate @ 25 ft/pnds.
You don’t have to remove the oil filter housing or intake manifold to remove the fuel pump

Yes, you can replace from the bottom but you will need to remove the transmission cooler lines to have more room.

No specific torque to follow.
Just make sure to don't put everything in place and tight enough but no too much or you can break it easy. Also replace the valve cover gasket.
Fransisco how do you remove the short water line from the compressor to the block because its leaking water from the end on the compressor. It looks like a clip is holding it on I just don't know how to remove the clip to replace the O ring. It only leaks when the engine is cold
You have to replace the entire coolant line

I have a 2015 cascadia with a dd15 engine. The engine makes a miss fire at a temperature between 150 and 165 at low speeds from 600 to 900 rpm usually when I start driving. So far I have changed twice the injectors, injector harnes, ecm, fuel quantity valve, delta presure sensor and cleaned pipe, intake valve , checked the fuel system for leek three times. All this was done on ww williams under warranty, and they still can't find the problem. Has anyone had a similar problem

Probably, there is a air leak in the fuel system.

I can’t find any mark on flywheel. Is it paint or punch in? Thank you.
It is punch in. Sometimes, the clutch dusk covers the mark. You have to rotate the flywheel until you find a long flywheel tooth from there the mark is going the be to the left, like three teeth away.

Yes, I can last 1M miles.
The truck in this video has at this moment 1,090,xxx miles, original ENGINE.
Always use good quality oil and fuel and don't overload the engine and transmission.

By that I meant, no to drive the truck in high gear when you are going up high or taking off, Do not jump gears when you are loaded.

Hey Fransisco how much you charge for change compressor parts and labor I have 2011 DD15 . 2 month ago I change discharge hose because was not built air. And now start again not built air so I think its compressor go bad on this compressor only 350,000miles 5years . And when I drain air from air tank some white smoke coming up smells like fuel burn. What helps for me to build air I need stop truck and drain all air so compressor gonna starts working again. What can be? Please help.
