It's weird how everybody is talking about Wooly but nobody is saying "Poor Amanda" (aka Rebecca). She was literally used by Hamlin to summon something evil and now she's probably not alive somewhere. She deserves better. It's sad that the adults in her life couldn't do more to protect.

In the first game where they show the dead tree stump and she disappears off screen briefly but her voice is all echoed….i think that’s where they dumped her body

Some people are getting even more suspicious of Wooly now because of this video, but my theory is, they're both being held hostage and the note wasn't even written by Amanda, because to me, it doesn't sound like something she'd say, maybe that's why Wooly is having a hard time reading the note and processing it, it also could be the reason why he gets slightly mad when he reads the "Amanda loves you too" part, because he knows it's something she wouldn't say.

If they're both being held hostage, then the reason why Amanda keeps yelling at Wooly could be that if he messes up, the person holding them hostage could have threatened to kill them both, and the reason Amanda tried to kill Wooly could be that she thinks the show can't go on without both of them, and she would be set free. Might not be lore accurate, though, cause idk the lore.
One of the theories, among others, is that Wooly could be another child pulled in by the Entity earlier on. Wool is obviously connected to the Entity, considering the wool appearing over Amanda's eyes when she transforms, but correlation doesn't equal causation. It's possible that Wooly has been changed irrevocably with time and no longer even remembers who he really is. For all intents and purposes he does act like another child, not like an actual adult, and this video indicates that he, too, is an unwilling pawn in this.

in the first game wooly always seemed to redirect Amanda from revealing her true self aka Rebecca. In the everything rots tape Amanda says she can feel herself rotting , pointing towards the fact that her real life self (Rebecca) is dead, to which wooly interrupts her and tries to tell her shes wrong and redirect the topic.
this trailer kind of concludes that wooly was forced to follow a script the entire time. he didn’t really choose to hurt her, hes being forced by hamelin to shut amanda up and keep her soul from resting
It’s also possible that Wooly wants to prevent the entity within the tapes from entering the world, as that tape ends with the entity attacking Riley.

I’ve been anticipating more of the game to come out, super hyped and definitely can’t wait to see Corykenshin play it again! Such an entertaining game to watch and the storyline is incredible.

wooly is the bad guy. he was made by the evil studio to constantly shut Amanda up when she starts revealing info. Thats why she silenced him in the farm part of the first game. She was merely trying to tell the player that the real her is in danger while wooly started to crack.
