    Before tightening the camshaft, the pistons must be set halfway up by turning the crankshaft 90 degrees (a quarter of a turn) counterclockwise. Once the 12 screws on each cam base have been tightened, return the crankshaft to the peg position.

    • @SaxoRacingTeam
      @SaxoRacingTeam  Před 3 lety +1

      You are basically right, but that cams are not too high lift and there are big cut-outs in the forged pistons.
      So for that engine in the video the extra step wasn't necessary.

    When putting new crank shells in how do you know which ones to order. The Haynes manual has 3 different colour codes which are suppost to match up to markings on your engine block, I can't find any markings. Any ideas?

    • @SaxoRacingTeam
      @SaxoRacingTeam  Před 3 lety

      Race bearings are all in one colour code (black - or the mean tolerance from Peugeot/Citroen).
      But if you want you can play with the race bearings with extra oil clearance to make an better fit.
      In most cases the markings are not visible after some years of usage, so you have to test it with plastigauge (for example).

    Nice work, but why did you cover the vent? Where do the gases come out of the crankcase?

    • @SaxoRacingTeam
      @SaxoRacingTeam  Před rokem

      It's an TU5JP4 block without the external crankcase vent piping, so the crank case ventilation works with the two connections in the valve covers.

    How did you get the sump baffle kit to fit?
    When I went to refit my Peugeot Sport baffle kit, it would no longer work because of the extra throw of the stroker crank.
