Both scouts have been SOLD
Prob broke even after paying for the guys trailer.
Not only did the guy in the bobcat NOT stop when you yelled 'Whoa" but he didn't care and kept dragging it down the ramp. He deserves his last paycheck at your shop.
I WORKED 20 YEARS AT THE INTERNATIONAL PLANT IN SPRINGFIELD, OHIO.. NAVISTAR..1997 TO 2017..😊😊❤
The dude who actually works on the rigs has my respect.
Finding a Scout that isn't a rust bucket is rare indeed. Nice find, nice save! Glad to see the new content. Cheers! 😎👍🏎🏁🏁
Thanks 👍
I love the accent boys! I grew up in the north side and Bellevue Pa. I'm in California since 1981. Makes me home sick when I watch your videos
Thanks for the video on the 62 scout. I have an early 61 from central Montana same color with sliding door glass all original. Your post will help help me get started on mine.
My 64 would climb anything.
When I was a kid, a friend's data was quite a hunter, he had 3 of these on his farm. 1 was quipped as a tow vehicle, pulled it behind his bus - a commercial bus converted to a camper, he'd do a hunting trip across the U.S. into Canada and back. That old scout had FAR more miles being towed than it did on the road, but it was pretty much a tank. The other scouts - one had a blade and was used to plow the drive, also a little tank. The 3rd was mostly used for parts to keep the other 2 running. I'd LOVE to have one today.
Im more a Mopar Guy, Ramchargers and Durangos, but Back before i was a 4x4 enthusiast my uncles wifes son had passed away leaving a painted and restored International Scout. I didnt think nothing of it. Now days in retrospect i wished i could have gotten it. Who knows where it went.
Man 12500 for that! Wish i still had my 68 scout! It was road ready. Everything worked as it should!
THOSE LITTLE SCOUTS ARE SO MUCH NICER WHEN THE OTHER HALF OF THE MOTORS THERE THEN I'VE ONLY SEEN V8 ONE'S BEING IN AUSTRALIA
I had a 64 scout. it had a slant 4 and it would climb anything! no rust it was out of Ft Irwin Ca.
These were great trucks in their day. Well worth restoring.
406 garage is the scout expert Holden brothers love em too
It was dark green. Wish I still had it!
I’d gladly take on restoring the floors and whatnots rotted out of the brown one.. been there, done that. It’s just so complete & original, it’d be a cryin’ shame to part out! Been a long time but, have come across these with JUST the lower 3rd in great shape; everything else a wreck. That would make a perfect marriage for browny! Greeny now, she’s a creampuff peach, nearly as is! I’m in the middle of full resto of a ‘66 Scout 800B.. will be fixing up a simi-mod’d ‘63 Scout 80. Got a ‘64/5 800 lined up after that &, a chassis swap for a 1980 diesel Scout II (original chassis bent badly). Gunna be dropping a GM 350 with A/T & married transfer, into a rock crawler mod’d ‘72 Scout II w/44’s, already has body & axle/suspension lift for rock crawl… have two more ‘60’s Scouts on way. Will be soon, attempting a body drop of a 1956 IH S-160 body & front clip, onto a 2000 F-250 4x4 SD Lariat 7.3 PS… this “might” be a running gear swap, too ‘56 chassis, if possible. Got several other old IH vehicles in the works, that’ll be eventually in shop.. including a 1940’s IHC refrigerator!!!!
I had a 1967 scout slant 4 get down in the transfer case excellent off road 4x4 back in the day 16 in. Pizza cutter tire chains on go anywhere in rocky mountain of Montana to retrieve my bull elk 4 to 5 feet of snow little slant 4 banger doing it
An amazing find Pete, Joe was fun to watch alongside the whole resurrection, the Scout looks perfect as is. I hope whoever buys it keeps it as is while make it a perfect daily but that's their choice ultimately. Regarded the videos, I understand completely so take your time.
Mine hade the full top.came in handy!
Great video.....Joe is really fun to watch....he really knows his stuff. I learned a TON of little hints just listening to the audio....More Joe!!
He’s the man, we love Joe. A wrath of information and good jokes
This is a blast from the past. We had one of these on the farm 500kms NW of Sydney Australia when I was a kid. Learnt to drive in it when I was about 10. Typical neglected farm vehicle, no brakes, no lights, no muffler, no drivers side door(handle got taken off on a gate post by my cousin so we removed the door ) and bald tyres. I could tell you some funny stories about what us kids got up to in that Scout, great memories.
My neighbour has actually brought two home in the last 12 months, one to restore and the other almost rusted away but drivetrain is solid. Very rare to see one over here.
That’s a beautiful old truck.
Nice Scout! Good job bringing her back to life, I'd love to drive it just once. 👍
Thanks for another , Brother !
I remember seeing the brown one on marketplace.
Oh What a beautiful Rusty Bucket 🪣
Good job on making that call on the driveline, it was just one spline off , as I Understood it . 👍 very impressive
The Scouts were made in my home town of Fort Wayne Indiana. I worked in a Piston manufacturing plant,(Zollner Pistons) located really close to the Harvester plant. We supplied Harvester with the pistons for the Scouts.I probably help make thousands of the pistons for that vehicle. Too bad they didn’t use better steel in their manufacturing.
Had the Scout II. Most amazing turning radius I've ever seen on a vehicle. Always wondered if the earlier Scout could turn around on a dime like the Scout II.
❤❤❤❤una joya ese scout harvest 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
My brother had a 65 scout 4 cylinder 192 engine holly carb. Fun little wheeler that would go anywhere.
That slant 4 is so awesome
I’ve got a 1962 IH C 120 so I really appreciate IH. But I’ve never quite understood the attraction to the Scout. But what you have there is something special.
For 2 scouts, you can sit there term. Apart, put 2 new, get me to win since in there. Reform can you paint and get all new stuff for you know
I like it
Glad to see a new video. 😃😃
More to come!
I had a 68 scout with the v8 three speed on the floor, lockout fry hubs , out run from light to light my brothers Camaro !!
just sub'd your channel. this is what i've been hoping for. a video where the workers aren't trying to make jokes, mugging for the camera ect.. just good old hard work, and who performs it with grace and skill? baby boomers !! hell yeah love it! keep up the good vids 👍👍
Thanks for the sub!
The horn quit working so he tried to remove the connection on the horn relay without unhooking the battery dropped the relay on the fender melted all the wiring for the lights and gauges luckily for him it would still start up and run .He took it to a local shop and had it rewired.this was at least 45 years ago.
I'm a 1962 model and still run after 62 years.🤣
Glad to see you. It's been a while. Love hearing the Pittsburghese. Everything is crazy high up there in Da Burgh. I've been in Fla for 19yrs. Getting crazy here too. I have a '65 Olds Cutlass if you're interested. All primer some surface rust. Str8 as new.
I call those hooks "dental picks ".lol.
You don't hone cylinders?
Cleaned up excellent.
That is pretty cool.
Son gave me a 68 scout for Father's day one year came by trailer missing front fenders had it on road in a month drove it for years then sold it made a $1,000.00
Quiet! Artist at work!
Great video thanks for sharing
Thanks for the visit
Looks like the same concept as my cub lo boy 185. If you're looking for parts their's this man up in Ohio Hamilton Bobs. Look it up on Google. He makes and sells all sorts of tractor parts as well as international harvester parts. I would like to have one of these. Not only to work on but once fixed use it as well.
The battery was Western Auto brand.
2 INCH LIFT V8 AN 35'S AN A WINCH ON THE FRONT THAT'S HOW I WOULD BUILD IT
Still has a tailgate!
Check the tail light for the model year. It was pretty common
It needs to move to get it in and out of 4 wheel drive.my 65 was that way.
I love Scouts! I almost bought one but I heard parts are hard to come by. It’s that true?
Great way to end a Thursday 👍
Hope you enjoyed it!
It's Saturday?
@@jwfinley7808 posted video on Thursday his comments 2 days old
Now it's Sunday!
It's Sunday
I think it is worth resurrecting
Intertrashional
Que camioneta rara que habra pasado con la fabrica
these things are scary how steep they will climb I had a 64 strait stock that would scare the bejeebers out'a any sane person ...I still kick myself for selling that little rig
Fix the runt as well these trucks are getting harder and harder to find
If thats worth 12500 whats a baby bronco 2 1985 worth ? Years ago Tractor dealerships would give you a scout if you bought a brand new John Deeere or International Harvester and were painted the same colors as the tractor , that one could be a John Deere promo truck !
75,000 dollar vehicle!
Sell after restoration
Hate your mechanic left thought he was a keeper guess not. haven't been on you tube as much later just saw you had posted glad you shared
Definitely didn’t workout for us, just wasn’t a good fit
We hope he’s doing well wherever he is.
Whats a 1960 scout worth
I have the one with the bronco back
"So it's wet in there, but it's dry, but it's wet in there." I'm outta here. Non sub
You know you want to sub 🤩
