Marcus is form my hometown. We use to see him when he was 13 playing with his dad at a little venue called Chicora Alley.
And he is only 25 years old. I saw him open for Chris Stapleton in July 2019. When Marcus sang the crowd just stopped. I was hooked from there. So much talent. He is amazing live. Hope you get a chance to see him live.
Funny sequence. I first saw Chris Stapleton in 2015 opening for Warren Haynes, who signed Marcus to his evil teen records label, who then went on to open for Chris. Nice community they have going.
Thank you STEVIE, I haven't heard of Marcus King until watching your reactions, I read that he's very young and has performed with CHRIS STAPLETON, Chris says Marcus is one of his favorite singers! Can you imagine getting that compliment!!! I really like his style, very Bluesy.

I like this version of this song better than the album version. As good a guitar player as he is , the real star is his voice. To have a voice like that at 26 yrs old is awesome. Love his playing & his singing & he's a really humble , nice guy to top it all. Met him when he was touring with Chris Stapleton.

He was playing in his dad's band when he was in his early teens. First time I saw him live he was maybe 16 and his band was playing a small place in his hometown of Greenville, SC. He walked in carrying a ton of equipment and I thought he was a very young guy to be a roadie. When he plugged up he had the whole crowd in his hand after the first note. His guitar playing is even better than his singing.

Marcus King, man....Even if he was up there just singing and somebody else was playing for him, or vice versa, he would be impressive. The fact that he sings and plays at the same time, at the level he does, just blows my mind every time.

@HanselManCan - there's a difference though when you look at it from a AFFECTED standpoint. I can't think of too many Black artists who tried to market themselves as Soul artists, who weren't soulful. When it comes to a White artist...you really can't fake it, because you WILL NOT be accepted/respected. It's similar with being a White Rapper.
