In this video, Marcus was at the Big House in Macon, GA, where the Allman Brothers Band lived together for a spell. It’s now a museum to the band. He’s actually playing Duane Allman’s ‘57 Goldtop, that Duane famously played on the Layla album. Marcus is the man!

With a voice similar to Janis Joplin in a lot a ways, and his killer guitar playing, he's one of my favorite artists, he's mastered the accompany of his singing by his brilliant use of chords shapes, stabs, single note lines, ect. so much to learn from every song he plays, his timing, touch, and dynamics are spot on, just an awesome player and singer.

These guys just keep coming up through the mud like they always have. Despite the times. Popular culture. I'd have dug it 50 years ago, man. Maybe I can die in peace with a few more like this.

The joy I have watching michaels reaction to those stinky smelly Marcus chords. Smiling ear to ear. Thank you sir I can’t read music or memorize crazy chords but I know where I’m at on the neck and once I see someone play it I can. Appreciate the vids michael

You are in for a treat Michael. I have seen him a couple of times, puts on a great show. His vocals are really powerful live as well. Have fun!

Was great meeting Michael at the Marcus King show in Baltimore last night! It was the BEST live performance I think I’ve ever seen. We talked about the pocket… well this band is in the pocket the entire set. You can actually hear the non verbal communication between the band mates. The conversation between them allows Marcus to just go off on an entirely new level!
