He's a total badass. He's from the Greenville/Spartanburg area, and used to come up the mountain to Asheville when he was 14 or 15 to play in a Soul/Jazz/Fusion jam with the heavy-hitters in the music scene around the region, and he was already blowing everyone away with his guitar skills at that age. A bit later when he started singing a lot in his performances I was amazed yet again, and convinced he was just a one-in-a-million talent. It's been awesome to watch his progression over the years, and he definitely respects and gives back to his roots. Quality human being and a top-tier talent all around.
In fact, check out Billy Strings and Marcus King doing Summertime together. It's amazing.

I'm 21 and have seen marcus live in London and I get goosebumps when I see him and just think that's a credit to his talent good music is timeless and transcends all generations

Nick, I hope you take a deep dive into Marcus. He's the REAL DEAL- ultra cool voice, absolutely domination of the guitar, impeccable songwriting, AND he's still in his 20s.

Check out some earlier stuff. He was very influenced by the Alman Brothers, and some of his earlier stuff was in that vein, halfway between jazz and southern rock. He did a 'Jam in the Van' show that was really good. Actually I guess he did two. I was referring to the first one, about 7 years ago.

I’ve been following MK for years. I think he’s as good as it gets. You will not find a better triple threat of singing, songwriting and guitar playing. He can sit in and play guitar with anyone and be one of the best on stage - Clapton, Trucks, you name it. He’s kind of like the real musician / artist version of Chris Stapleton.
