Back then I was working for ARCA. Our Saturday race was rained out, and was to run after the Cup race on Monday. Between the regular Monday traffic and those who were coming back for the race, it caused some Cup officials to be late. I had the pleasure of working turn 2 as a track spotter and corner flagman (just the yellow, of course). I got to wave DW off on the parade laps for his last race.
You hang around racing long enough, and you get to do these little things that don't mean much to others, but they all add up to a big deal to me.
