@@CJHBehRamadan is a month all about fasting for religious and worship purposes like the user above me explained, and good food has become a theme as well since we break the fast with really good delicious hearty meals as well as tea and dessert time afterwards. It’s really special not just because of the food dedication but the whole worship atmosphere is something different!
I had kunefe (the Turkish spelling) when I went to Istanbul with my late husband in 2016, and I LOVED it. Need to find a Mediterranean place around me that serves it.
Speaking of sweet cheese, you need to try the Norwegian brown cheese brand is “Sky Queen”. It’s a mixture of Cow and Goats milk and it tastes like caramel! I’m 100% addicted to it! You’ve been warned
The kibbeh should be hot. It's okay cold, but it's even better hot. My family makes huge batches for christmas and there are no leftovers when christmas dinner is done. 😂
Hey Ashley, I live in Egypt, and the food is very similar. the seasoning on the bread is a very different taste and nix of spices. You need to try foul, tameeya, baladi salad, white cheese an tomato, koshari.
My son's BFF is turkisk..his mom taught me how to pick grass, boil with pearl onions n spices then jar it..such a great snack..she always sent my son home with fresh baked Turkish bread n often grape leaves for me..could eat them daily..go to local place for swarma n the rest now cuz they moved😢😢..I eat mostly Mediterranean
Most of this food comes from the southeast of Türkiye with some arab influence. The coffee doesn't look like turkish coffee and the künefe doesn't look well made at all it is supposed to be golden brown. The skin of the içli köfte (kibbeh) is too thick and the rest of the food also looks dry,old and not well made at all. I am sorry you had to eat those in reality they are much more delicious.
As a Turk I’d say that these aren’t too bad for the representation of some of our foods. (Yes ım aware that some of these dishes are generalized and eaten in the whole Mediterranean and sometimes Middle East too). The künefe (q-neigh-fe, fe read like the fe in fell) seemed decent though the portions here are usually slightly smaller and cut into squares though there’s no specific tradition for that. The football shaped one is something we call içli köfte and usually it’s served warm. (I too don’t like it cold) the name roughly translates to stuffed meatballs even though the meat is inside and it’s not a meatball. And the salad roughly resembles a shepherds salad (Çoban salatası) a fresh salad made with tomatoes onions cucumbers peppers sometimes parsley is also added and its mixed with lemon salt and olive oil before being served. Overall this isn’t bad representation but could be improved. Maybe other food bought from a more authentic place if wanted.
Ma’am you’re eating the cheese without the crunch. Stop going for cheese pull and cut off a piece so you get all of the texture in one bite!! You’ve chosen some great goodies!!!
Do Bosnian. Cevapi. It is the best!! Go to a place that will give you real Tzatziki sauce and not cheat you with sour cream. Lemon Baklava or pistachio for dessert.
My cat is only about 8 months old and she is most talkative somebody and your cat let's me know it probably won't stop. A talkative kitty will chat you up all day. Does yours wake you up in the morning at dawn? Because mine does like clockwork. "Hey mom, the sun's up"
I have to tell you. Last night I had a dream about you. You had your hair down, blown out straight and it was blonde. I wondered why on earth I would have a dream about you. Upon reflection I think it's because you embody qualities I would like to have more of in terms of authenticity and transparency....just plain realness. I so appreciate your content. Have a great day!! Just had to edit this because I forgot something. In the dream you said "smash it on down."😂😂😂😂
As Arab we have kunafa very frequently, you can even find ones with Nutella nowadays. It’s especially consumed during Ramadan season.
Would you mind explaining what y'all do during Ramadan !?
@@CJHBehfasting a specific window of time, eating outside of it and general worship for the religiously dedicated

I’m really glad I’m not the only one who randomly sings “Somebody come get errr she’s dancing like a stripper” in the same voice 😂
Knafeh is soooo good! Especially when you put all that sugar syrup over it. ❤❤

The meat and rice you eat hot with a cold white yogurt as topping. You can also add cucumber to the yogurt with some salt and garlic.
Like tzatziki?

“Eat bread and get all sassy!” 😂😂😂😂
Love the videos.
Fattoush should have pita chips in it too, it's a way to use up old bread.
yeah that just looks like regular salata lol
Cheese!! It's Cheese!! I like that better than the corn song!😂
Everythung is best warm/hot, except for the salad.
Knafeh is the best!!
The hashweh and kibbeh are best warm and eaten with plain yogurt.
I love your videos! Watching you eat with a wooden spoon hurt my teeth, though 😂
I received my 20 oz. Crock Pot from Amazon today‼️ And you are the reason I bought it.😁

Ashley beefing with Chloe is hilarious 😂😂😂
That restaurant is cutting corners on every single food item you ordered. They are definitely not giving you authentic dishes.

“Anything stuffed with meat is gonna be good.” 😏
Chloe just wants to be included 😹😻
mannnnnn my cat is the same!!! these cats love to mess with us 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
